This song made me know the difference between the mxr phasers and the super phasers when I first gave it a first conscious listen. I love how rounded it sounds. Great tutorial!
Thank you! I will get round to shaft, but can’t promise when it will be I’m afraid - have a long list of songs to get through these days 😁. Thanks for watching 👍🏻🤘🏻
Congratulations and thank you for all. I watch every video you make. I have one question. Given that RV3 and PH2 are not on stock, I would like to know if you could explain the equivalence settings for a DD3 or DD8 and a PH3, which are the pedals I own, for The warmth, Pardon me, Nice to know you and also the settings of the two delays on Wish you were here. I don´t know if I´m requesting to much, but thank you, anyway
Thank you so much! I really wish I could help you here but I don’t have access to those pedals I’m afraid. I’d love to make a video using these kinds of pedals to show how to get the similar tones with alternate pedals in the future, but I’d need a lot more money to buy more pedals for one video 😅. All I can suggest, is really listen to the amount of repeats you can hear in the songs with delay - easier for songs like the warmth than nice to know you etc. For Pardon me, dial in the delay by listening to the stabbed note in the verse on the 4th fret B string and the open E string. That will give you a base for the delay time and amount of repeats. I hope that helps a little bit?
Thanks for watching 👍🏻. I have another video where I go through the pedals and settings in more detail here: ruclips.net/video/HbR-Y5iZWuk/видео.html and all the pedals and settings are in the description below the video. I wanted this one to be more about the riffs, notes and chords than the pedals 😁👍🏻
No problem! I probably should have called this a Gsus2 as that would be more accurate but if you are really having trouble, you could just play the G at the low E 3rd fret and play the open A and D strings. The voicing will be a little different but they are the notes you need for a Gsus2. Hope that helps? 😊👍🏻
Please upload more step by step instructional videos! I always wanted to learn more incubus songs but NO ONE on RUclips is making quality tutorials for anything except "Drive" - PLEASE SEND HELP! Haha.
Hi Nick! Really appreciate your videos! I'm a big fan of incubus, especially their earlier stuff. Just wondering if there is another pedal I could use in place of the boss rv-3. It doesn't look like they make reverb delay anymore. Many Thanks!
Hey Scott, thanks for watching and the kind comment 😊👍🏻. There’s an RV-6 that has delay on it but I’m not sure if it always has reverb on too?! Seems to be a reverb pedal first with delay added as an option but could be worth investigating? Really any delay pedal will be fine as the delay is more important than the reverb - something that doesn’t immediately stop when you turn the delay off is ideal too so that you get a cushion of sound under you as you change effect etc. I hope that helps?
Yes! This is great. I will just get a Boss delay pedal, maybe the waza craft, and then add reverb with my amp or get a separate reverb at some point. Thanks Nick! Your covers sound awesome! I'll keep watching.👍😄🎸🙏
Hi Nick! If I could just ask one more more question. I'm looking at the Boss DM-2W which is an analog pedal with 800ms max delay time and the Boss DD-8 which is digital with 10 seconds max delay time. Would you recommend one over the other? Analog vs digital? Is 800ms enough delay for most Incubus songs? Thanks so much!
Hey Scott, 800ms is plenty I should think. The main difference, sonically speaking, will be the digital vs analogue. The digital is what Mike uses for the majority of songs and with that the repeats are exactly as you played them. With an analogue pedal, the repeats aren’t pristine when they are delay back and have a kind of warble to them as they decay. I would say if you want to get as close to Mike’s sound, a digital delay is the way to go but if you love the sound of the analogue delay, go for it, it will still do the same job, just will sound different 😁👍🏻
I would think you’d be able to get most tones. The multi effects units can’t seem to replicate the PH-2 Super Phaser’s mode II setting and that’s the sound you may struggle with. That’s what you can hear on the bridge section of this song 👍🏻
Hey, as far as I know, the mode 1 of the ph2 is a 10 stage phaser and the mode 2 is a 12 stage. I think that’s right - good luck with creating your patches 😁👍🏻
@@Fitzgerd hey, i bought the ph2! now my problem is how to set my eventide h9 to get the rotary sound.. do you have any idea of the settings in your rotary?

Absolutely, both pedals have really distinctive sounds. Thanks for watching Alfredo 😊👍🏻
Hey, can't believe you did this based on my request! Thanks so much!!!
My pleasure Richard, thanks for the request and I hope you enjoy the video 😊👍🏻
I've been an Incubus fan for 20 years and have only found this channel tonight. I'm enjoying what I've watched so far, great job
Thanks so much Robert! There will be plenty more to come in the future - thanks for watching and for that kind comment 😊👍🏻🤘🏻
@@Fitzgerd I'd love to see an Into the Summer video
I’ll add that to my list 😁👍🏻
Was not expecting this in my feed. Now I’ll have to perfect my playing just a little more. Thanks as always Nick!

My thoughts exactly haha. Thanks Nick!!! 😎
😬👍🏻
@@Fitzgerd It was a nice treat, and bang on as always! 🤗
Thanks Blake 😊👍🏻
Nice video. Could you do idiot box? I’ve been trying to get the gonk sound all this week.
Thank you! Idiot box will be coming soon 👍🏻. To give you a head start, have you watched my Glass video? That will give you the Gonk settings 😁
the solo at the end is majestic and sounds like an epic dragon fight!!
It’s a great song all round 😊👍🏻
An epic dragon fight? As opposed to a regular dragon fight?
This came in via my recommendations feed, not sorry to have checked out your channel. Subbed man!
Thanks man, I really appreciate that! Thanks for watching, subbing and for the kind comment 😊👍🏻

What would be the settings on a BOSS PH-3 Phase Shifter??
Hey Daniel, I will have a video coming soon comparing the PH-2 to the PH-3 with song examples and The Warmth will be one 👍🏻

Thank you! Don't quit! Keep practicing and you'll get there - I'm really not the best guitar player. If I can do it, you can too 😊👍🏻
