Mark's music makes me miss people that are in the same room as me.
Mark was my guitar teacher back in the early 80s - he was and continues to be an amazing guitar virtuoso and musician. Many congrats on your success, Mark.
Travel is the only thing I truly look forward to in this life. Marks music was always in my ears as I traversed this world. As much as I have cherished my destinations, it was always the cab rides, trains, airport sitting, and plane rides that I truly was at peace. I always felt that in Marks music as well. Anyone who enjoys the poetry that resides in his lyrics and songs, is a kindred spirit of mine. Thanks for sharing this docuseries!
Wow.. this really hits close to home... I've just finished 6 years travelling around the world and your so right.. the waiting around for your next destination might be the closest to natural peace I've ever been. Xx

Mark is my best friend whether he likes it or not.
Alesund continues to give me chills every time I hear it.
I knew Mark way back when I use to waitress at Sushi Rock in SF. He is truly a beautiful soul. Very kind and very interesting! We would talk music whenever we could. Ha! When he mentioned he was in Almost Famous which was my favorite movie at the time! I was like 🙌😆. Starstruck and honored to know such a great human being. I love his music. Beautiful songs. My favorite song his might be “You ain’t got a hold of me” and Metropol 47. Ooh and “Love at first feel”. So, Mark… if you ever come across this , this is Em. I am still a fan and thank you for always being kind. ✌️🥲

I don't like the spoken word material at all, He is much to talented to be just producing that and an extraordinary guitarist to. I used to go see him every year to either New York or Boston. I even met him Boston in a Restaurant where he was playing that night. He was extremely nice to me and signed my CD, It was at the Middle East Club, he had just came out with the song Duk Koo Kim and played that and other material that was great too. I miss this type of music from him. If comes back doing similar songs I will come back too. Just don't like the spoken word thing. Not for me.
@@stevenfawber7585 Oh if that's what you meant I agree 100%. I don't think there's many people who enjoy the spoken word. It's really boring. But I guess Mark is one of those people who does whatever he likes. It's great you actually met him!
I hated This Is My Dinner at first, but I forced myself to listen to it about 10 times and then it clicked. I think it's a natural progression. I love the humor over the sadness. I love it it as much as Benji, Among the Leaves and Ghosts. Common as Light is the only one that's tough to get through for me. I hope y'all can give it another try! :)

and the fact that he plays all these crazy time signatures and dexterity demanding changes while singing is amazing to me. He really is an incredible guitar player

The songs on this album are many of my favourites from Mark. I'm really not into his new style with Sun Kil Moon... I saw them live in Dublin and was so disappointed. I hope he'll resume his solo tours again.
