Mike G me too! watching the last two songs just gutted me. Both of my favorite singers are now gone and it feels like some of the magic of this world has completely disappeared.
Jeff K--And Led Zeppelin/Deep Purple set the stage/foundation for all rock genres to come, right before and after The Beatles project. It is so easy/clear to hear/feel.
Yes, and he persevered and maintained what are the most important characteristics of his voice: the fullness, richness, deep, effortless also mixing harmonies typical blues and soul. That make him stand out and shine. These are aspects which for me were more valuable than he reaching high notes or screams (don't get me wrong, when he screamed perfectly in tune was absolutely amazing). Probably he stopped smoking during ou right after the 3rd record of Audioslave.
I’m freakin 44 and have heard this performance multiple times in it’s entirety the past few years and to watch it with my own eyes and see Chris I still immediately almost lose it emotionally...
This show is a great tribute to the brotherhood of the Seattle music scene. Mutual respect, admiration, cooperation, and friendship amongst all the players made all their chosen configurations stronger. Pretty amazing footage here. There were some lucky folks who caught this show. I think Chris was quite a peaceful soul, who got along with nearly all of his former band mates. Rest peacefully, Chris.
HMMMMMM, he held IT ALL IN ... He didn't open up to many either and ended his life in one of the most violent ways possible(next to shooting) hanging ones self states LOUD AND CLEAR: "I WANT TO DIE" (clinical psychology)..So he anything but peaceful....I just calls it as I sees it Dawg!
T I could never get enough of this music. Layne and Chris and all these guys were such a huge part of my youth and still are. I thank the big guy upstairs for the gift of them and their music. So much talent.
Sorry harriet love my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail looks like the groom lost his tuxedo too oh well shit happens and then you die. Oh well dont dwell in hell 3 is a charm. Lol hunty.
All great singers from that historic age & area are dead. It's devastating & more culturally tragic than anything else I can think of ever! Yet, I've resolved to feelings of cherished greatness when I hear my favorite artist sing.
HEY EVERYONE THATS .....SEAN KINNEY.... ON THE BONGO DRUMS!!!! From (Alice In Chains )playing bongo drums in the last song ( all alone) thank SO SO MUCH you for doing this for Layne he would of loved it!!! Tears.... so many tears..... this Little statement was written about the show from Rolling Stone magazine After finishing his thought, he waved McKagan and Martin back onstage, and joined by Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney, the group played a truly haunting rendition of Above closer "All Alone" - this time with lyrics coming from a pre-recorded Staley vocal track. It was a powerful, mesmerizing way to end an undeniably incredible show. It was also a small reminder that no matter how many big names you can add to the guest list, some break-ups are more permanent than others.
me and my son (7 years with old) from istanbul we are great fans of both layne and chris.. he asks lots of questions about what had happened to them.... I found him singing alice in chains, pearl jam and chris cornell all the time.... some how he learned the songs earlier than learning English.... rest in peace both layne any chris, you have been touching somemany hearts. My son's hearth is full with your songs, literally he do not understand english that much. but he understand exactly what you have meant... jusy 7 but he feels just as the same way I fell. I am missing you both
@@huseyintuter Your comment is my favorite. If all these comments yours is so great. I loved Chris and Layne and I'm so happy you showed them to your son. And from another country. Amazing to me. Do you know who Andrew Wood is? Mother Love Bone.
@fullmetalfred surely as an old dog I know Andrew Wood and mother love bone. It has been 2 years since my comment. since then my son has been playing drums and recently started playing some guitar and sings some as well. He decided to play an Alice in chains song “would” at his drum grade exam. I want to believe they see us above and proud of how they have been touching to our lives even before they left.. what they have achieved with music is borderless and timeless.
Quando ouvi "Lone gone day", me arrepiei todo e a nostalgia foi tamanha que até vontade de chorar deu. Emocionado pela excelente música tão rara em nossos dias.
Beautiful! Layne's missing but Chris did a wonderful job! Does anyone knows who was replacing John Baker Saunders? I'm crying like a child at the end of the show, when they play "Alone"! I know, I'm not 16 anymore, I'm a grown up woman but God I can't stop crying! But I'm sure I'm not the only one! Most of us grew up with these bands, this superband, with Layne...
***** I'm very touched by your words! You explained so well what I'm trying to tell friends who "really grew up", I also grew up in the way that I'm working and became "an adult" ( as an educator, with children and teenagers, they love me and I love them because I understand their problems, I take lots of my time to listen to them, to what they like, to do sports with them...) BUT in my heart, I'm still the 16 years old who begins to sing when I want to (also at work), I can't help making jokes and I often hear from other people of my age "when will you grow up"! But this is also difficult because I don't feel and act like the other adults, when someone tells me "keep your distance with children who have too many problems", or "don't take ot so hard, it's the world". How is it possible to "take my distance and act like nothing happened" after work when a 12 years old child told me he or she is scared to go home because her or his parents hit him? When a child has to sit on a table with 10 other children who are eating and he's not because his parents "forgot to make his sadwiches for the xth time?"?!? I share my food with this child, and I got problems for that? So, maybe I'm not really a grown up person but I don't like the way adults are supposed to behave, there's too much hypocrisy in our "adult world"! And I think Layne was someone who couldn't take this hypocrisy, this sad world we're leaving in, he was too sensitive, maybe even scared (I'm sometimes scared, like a child! ) and he chose to hide and not feel the pain any longer. He discoverd drugs, heroine and he had sadly too much money to stop...Ps: please excuse my mistakes, english isn't my first language, I'm from Belgium...
***** I'm not better than you and reading people like you it's what's gives me also hope in humans! If I told you that I love my cat more than most people I know and I more attached to her than most persons I know, you would maybe say "this woman's crazy"! But it's also the thuth! Her love is unconditionnel, when she wants to be left alone, she shows it and I have so much respect for this little animal than most human beeings with their wars and so called religions they use to kill each other! I didn't tell you but I had a chance: I grew up in a little village in "the ardenne" in Belgium, lots of forests and animals and not many people, I think that helped me, with the fact that I had a loving, adorable mum (who died in 2012), she was a real angel! Yes, life is very strange! It's been very nice talking to you!
This was a wonderful show on many fronts. Thanks so much for posting. Chris Cornell was awesome, and really I don't know of anyone's voice was better suited for Layne's vocals. Horrible shame about Layne, so long ago but it feels like yesterday. We are blessed to have all of these artist's work to look back on.
I had much love for Chris and what he meant to the music in my life. It deeply saddened me, and still does to know there are things in a persons life that brings them such depression where life becomes unbearable. His work stays with me for all of time, and that cannot be taken from me.. The dash between birth and death is all we have when all is said and done. Chris's dash made mine much better and I will always be grateful for him and his talent.
River of Deceit gave me goosebumps and a pair of tears. Cornell succeeding in the almost exact replica of Layne’s tune is something beyond, something my soul can hardly manage to bear

Both beautiful and bittersweet. R.I.P. Chris Cornell - still can't believe I'm writing this :( Layne Staley and John Baker Saunders. Sincerest condolences to Lily Cornell Silver, Susan Silver (given your history and your daughter and despite all the bullshit I can only imagine your pain) and Chris' birth family. I know the pain of losing a parent but imagine that must be tenfold having a loved one in the public eye when the media want a piece of you at your lowest point in life. Lily, your dad’s voice changed my life - I first heard it as a 20 year old living in a country town in Australia and it changed my world, that’s how far reaching his talent was (Hands All Over in 1989 - yes I’m old!). A small consolation, in your darkest moments, remember how much your dad loved you. Blessings to Ben Shepherd and Eddie Vedder, I cannot imagine your pain but it must be immense. Lily, your dad was truly amazing...ruclips.net/video/7axldakkdYI/видео.html and I'm sure he lives through you. Better Than Nothing Videos, this is better than a LOT of things, thanks for posting a good copy here, couldn't afford the ratio hit elsewhere - RIP Chris & Layne
I feel so sorry for you Mike.... The pain you have endured...... Losing Layne and now Chris. Grunge is just filled with tragedy. It hurts even for me and im only a young man in his 20's who never got to experience any of it.
"Waking the Horizon" me hace llorar de alegría. Cada vez que la escucho me emociona y me hace llorar. Gracias Mike, gracias Matt, gracias Seattle Symphony, gracias BTNV!!
here i am, a grown ass man. watching this and shedding tears for both Layne and Chris. RIP gentlemen.

PianoGirl they are all creating a new world for us but life without them just isn't the same.
Dude, it takes a grown man to cry. You are just admitting the love and pain of missing them.
I’m damn near 50 years old... and every time I hear Cornell’s voice I tear up.
Jeff Kolanski same. Such a horrible loss.... I can't believe its been almost 3 years. 💔😭
60 and same thing happens.. they left us with some good shit!
Jeff K--And Led Zeppelin/Deep Purple set the stage/foundation for all rock genres to come, right before and after The Beatles project. It is so easy/clear to hear/feel.
And Layne's for me.
43. Same.
Chris had such a naturally awesome voice. He shines through on this orchestra like a well tuned Stradivarius.

This concert is beyond amazing. It should have received some kind of an award...
I totally agree. This is the music of the ages, and these dudes paid a lot of dues to bring it.
Now who is going to do such wonderful tributes for the fallen ones? Goodbye Chris! I loved you. We all loved you. And will continue to.
Eddie Vedder remains... a survivor
Well said. CC was amazing and will be missed by an entire generation who grew up on his music.
Amen
Mike gonna do it
My heart will always ache for over their pain.

We miss you Chris and Layne . . .
I would play this song so much its soo good.
What a gift Mike is to us! His talent is unlimited.
I'm so distraught that Chris is gone--- RIP You were one of the greatest male singers that roamed the face of the earth!
It’s just gorgeous and heartbreaking all the same. The last original genre of music with the most powerful vocalists, too many gone too soon.
Barett, Sean, Matt, Duff and Mike playing All Alone to Layne's vocal parts - that was very moving.
When Layne's vocals come through on All Alone.....chills!
RIP Chris Cornell...Such a beautiful voice...
so beautiful, with the orchestra behind them. All these guys are so talented!

I could never get enough of this music. Layne and Chris and all these guys were such a huge part of my youth and still are. I thank the big guy upstairs for the gift of them and their music. So much talent.
Yes the best man music is so different
Discovering and watching this after Chris passed... touches me, to say the least. Beautiful opening. This show is a must.
Aww man this rips my heart out all over again. I would give anything to have witnessed this magic live. I miss Layne and Chris so much. Rest easy!
This depresses the hell out of me. When I see Mike look at Chris all i can picture is Mike looking at Layne.
I miss him.
Eric Doyle Well, everytime I see Mike look at Chris I realize Chris is gone.😉
I feel you, but please dont be depressed. As It's love, what you see, between two (three) beautiful human beings..that's how I cope with the void.

I teared up at 58:00,I wasn't expecting that at all. It was a beautiful way to end the show and a fitting tribute to Layne.
'Reach Down' is freaking amazing live.
This should've been a staple at his live shows.

I'm sure your have so many memories Lily...cherish them all...www.101wkqx.com/2017/05/25/chris-cornell-eddie-vedders-final-hunger-strike-duet/

Thank you for sharing this video. Iam a long fan of Mad season and Criss Cornell. Their music always take me through dark to the light.🙏💚💫
Mad Seson - "Alone" is one of my favorite albums. Glad I just found this
Amazing show & much love to both these souls that drifted away.
Now you're gone too Chris... Rip amazing artist
I feel so sorry for you Mike.... The pain you have endured...... Losing Layne and now Chris. Grunge is just filled with tragedy. It hurts even for me and im only a young man in his 20's who never got to experience any of it.
Damn this is awesome! A legend paying tribute to another.

"Waking the Horizon" me hace llorar de alegría. Cada vez que la escucho me emociona y me hace llorar. Gracias Mike, gracias Matt, gracias Seattle Symphony, gracias BTNV!!

Chris & Layne, always in our hearts.
ALL ALONE. What a beautiful yet haunting tribute to Layne. Never seen or heard a tribute quite like that. RIP LAYNE
The only thing hotter than Chris Cornell shirtless, is him in a "dad sweater". Goddamn, I miss him so much, and always will.
