I know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me.
This is a fantastic and in-depth review. We value you as an Oklahoma Joe's customer and appreciate all of your feedback on the Bronco Drum Smoker. We have updated the air intake on this smoker and will be reaching out to you so that we can best assist and further discuss this.
Oklahoma Joe's Smokers My email is in my About Page. Thanks for reaching out. I’m going to be using it again this weekend. I’ll be making Pork Belly 2 ways, and using the Big Easy. I’m very impressed with this unit so far. I recently did a Brisket Video using it. It did great. Thanks again
Oklahoma Joe's, I bought the Bronco because of MeatCranium. Please send him a Bronco Pro for a review already! I want to get the Pro also if it cooks well and recommended by MeatCranium. Thanks! #SendMCaPro
I have a question hopefully someone can answer. I went to look at these in store. They had two different ones. One for $379 in a taller box and one that’s in a shorter box for $310. I looked the boxes over and both say bronco drum smoker. What’s the difference? I couldn’t find any difference.
How in the heck this video has thumbs down is beyond me, this guy is amazing, incredible review filled with amazing tips, I need that Oklahoma Joes Bronco in my life!!!!!
Spain on a Fork HATERS BROTHER!! I have lots of haters. Some people don’t appreciate the truth and sarcasm. It doesn’t matter though, I keep pushing forward. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Main controller for temp is the side one, ...the top one is to super fine tune, , otherwise you keep the top fully open all the time to allow the smoke out also ...that’s from all the top Bbq people with UDS smokers . And also according to Meathead , the top fully open also keeps the draw going Also use “oil dry “ is another tip to use on the inside bottom of your drum , around the outer ring to absorb any grease dripping and leakage threw the screws and easy clean up after 10 cooks or so when it starts to get fully absorb with grease
I do control temp with the inflow and leave the outflow open. The Bronco ended up sealing itself up and there are no leaks. Thanks for the support and commenting.
Just my opinion,...but the only temp reading that matters is where the food item is at. Hanging meats just need attention. I appreciate your detailed information though. I have been looking at this, as well as the Weber, and Pit Barrel versions and I still see Oklahoma Joe Bronco as the sturdiest, longest lasting, and great ability to keep heat retention. I will be getting the OK Joe for sure. Your vid did help my decision,..so Thank You.
I know it's been 5 years but, dude, you're the voice of reason! I just ordered one of these. Since Pit Barrel bought BarrelHouse Cooker 😡 I can't get replacement parts and I refuse to support Pit Barrel. I just ordered the Oklahoma Joe Bronco. Had it been good for you? Any caveats we should know about?
Thank you for this review and informational GOLD mine!!! I was worried about the temp gauge being inaccurate and was wondering exactly how i was going to address that but, after watching this videos, its way less of a concern now!!! 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Can’t go wrong with either. I do not own a WSM however I’m working on getting one. I know the Bronco and Love it. The WSM how is more diverse from what I’ve seen. Thanks for the support and commenting.
Meatcranium you guys are so lucky over there with all the varieties of Smokers. Here in Trinidad &Tobago if my Dad has to get one of those will have to by on Amazon although we can buy one of those ceramic grill but its quite pricey we can't even get Weber kettles unless we purchase it online. What we use at our house is a brand called GRILLMARK it s not all that but it works. Great job on your review.
Jacklyn n dad yeah that stinks. I don’t need a grill at all To make BBQ. I have cooked in the ground using a Dutch Oven, coals, and dirt. My best friend growing up was from Trinidad and his mom made phenomenal food, with great flavor, first time I had Roti and curry goat. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for the support and watching
Great video! I actually just seasoned mine today and smoked some ribs. It did very well! I also had a great experience with Char-Broil too. I saw Jonathan B's video about the intake pipe so when I assembled it and noticed it wasn't sitting completely flushed, I emailed Char-Broil (because it was after hours) telling them about it. By 9am the next morning I got a call from them. They said they had been getting Alot of calls about it but after researching it they didn't find thay it hindered the performance of the smoker. The guy said even though they came to that conclusion they wanted to make it right regardless and asked me a couple of questions. 1. Serial Number, 2. Location and Date purchased, 3. Price, 4. My address. I couldn't give him the serial number because I was at work but sent it via email when I got home. By Friday before lunch time I had a no charge 9rder confirmation on my email showing they shipped the corrected part out. (1 20890304 - KIT, Air Intake Channel Upper) - This is what the invoice read. I smoked today without it and it was fine. I'll definitely swap them out when I get it in. Says it'll take 7-10 days. I'll update this when it comes in. Purchased and assembled Wednesday this week and replacement part was shipped Friday by lunch time. No too shabby.
Raymond Lane that’s a good testimony. I am mixed on there customer service. They have dealt with my OKLAHOMA Joe Highland issues pretty promptly, however they don’t see to be appreciative of the suggestions and free advertising given to them. I have left messages for many of the people in the Public Relations department, IF they call you back it’s not until 3-4 days later, IF they call back at all. I love the Big Easy and OKLAHOMA Joes brand and I have wanted to suggest a couple of small things they could do to improve those products, but they act like they could care less. Anyhow, thanks for your support and watching Brother
So I'm torn between this and a webber master touch kettle. Have you used this as a charcoal grill yet? I'm just worried about grilling space on days i do use it to grill. For 300 bucks though it seems Iike a great deal. For a grill/smoker I can get it on sale right now for about 250. Its so tempting
Nicholas Sestito Get it!! I have grilled on it, and you will be able to formulate your own way to grill. There are instructions on how to do it. I like this grill more and more every time I use it. Thanks for the support and watching.
@@meatcranium4280 thanks for the advice man! I ended up with a kettle for now only because I was able to get the master touch for 160. Yes that is correct lol. I'll be on the look out for this for end of season mark downs i hear they can get as low as the 150 range. And for that price it's worth adding to the out door kitchen. Haha
Cool video thanks for taking the time to do it, also I saw a video on Oklahoma Joe's RUclips channel about direct grilling you have the right idea about using the heat deflector plate but instead of placing it on the brackets like you showed flip it upside down and place it on the lip of the barrel and place the charcoal basket on top it just thought I'd share that 😎👍🏿
Another unbiased review by MeatCranium. I was waiting for the grease on the ground comment! I wonder if the thermometer will be off in the beginning of the next cook until it warms up.
Lol. Hopefully it kicks in from the get go. The Grease on the ground was a little ironic. My first cook will be the results from the community pole. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
I replaced my oklahoma joes thermometer because I had the same issue 50-65 degrees off. Got one on Amazon that is adjustable and its only 3-5 degrees different. I also called about the intake and they sent me a whole new pipe section. I also had the drips from seasoning of the smoker. I just let it go and it hasn’t happened since, I think the soot filled in the seam.
I am going to replace my Temp probe too. The creosote also filled the gaps, mine doesn’t leak either. I have really grown to love this Cooker. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
I think with this design, which I think is very interesting, you'd want to keep the intake and exhaust pipes open at the exact same level. Then, the rate/amount of air in is equal to the rate/amount of air out. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
V Phan Yeah You would think so,but my experience that’s not the case. The air flow is better and more consistent when one is fully open then you adjust the other accordingly. I prefer the outtake fully open and intake at about a 1/2 - the number 1 . Try that, however elevation changes everything. Thanks for the support and watching
I tried this seasoning that you did almost to a tee, except i used a little less charcoal. I also didn't run a probe on the heat plate because i ordered another cooking grate. I too had about a twenty degree difference between the two, and i think that was because the heat plate wasn't hot enough yet, but when it did it was running right on with each other to 10-12 degrees difference back and forth. My temp on my probes was running at 450-470 and the gauge on the smoker never made it past 350 with both dampers wide open after 4 hours. It was consistently 80 degrees difference. I too am leaking grease, but mine are mostly coming out from the leg screws. I hope it will seal itself also. If it don't i will probably try some loctite thread sealer on them. Thanks you for sharing.
@@meatcranium4280 No, thank you, Now i am confident i can run both grates now because of this video. Just one question. How far did you screw in your temp gauge? Just curious because the instructions on that part was sketchy at best.
@@meatcranium4280 Ok, thank you. I started turning it and about half way in it started getting tight so i stopped and read the directions and it said not to turn it by the face. I'm like, well how in the hell i am supposed to screw it in then. lol. I was afraid of something cracking if i went further. The gauge or the threaded insert.
I absolutely love the step by step process and the information that you give to the average Joe! Seasoning process is a lil time consuming but well worth the wait. Also my o.k. Joe thermometer took a few cooks to start reading the correct temps. Great video brotha! Cheers and keepbbqing
Hate to be a bother, but I've used olive oil to season mine with. With the smoke point at 400° I'd like to hold at 380°. To do so I've attempted to adjust the exhaust little by little, yet no matter what I do it either decreases too much or increases too much every while moving it just a smidge. How long should I wait for it to settle before making another adjustment?
Tony Visconti Like the WSM ,you need minimal 3-4 cooks to break it in. I would wait 20-40 minutes between adjustments. To season you should use avacado of grape seed oil, They have very high smoke point. You’re not a bother, I love helping people. Anytime
@@meatcranium4280 Thanks, that helps a bunch. I'll repeat this Sunday and use one of those oils that time. When broken in shouldn't I simply close the exhaust at my desired temp to have it hold?
Tony Visconti Yes you should. Mess around with each damper the intake and outtake, leave one completely open, and then the other one use as your temperature control. One will probably be better than the other. Remember, if you have the lid open the temperatures will spike, And it will take a little time for the temperatures to come back down.
Thanks to your review, I have purchased one of these and also thanks to your review, I will be making the suggested mods to mine. I really like the concept of this smoker and am looking forward to doing some BBQ in it. Thanks. By the way, I got mine from Walmart on close out for $185.
Cool bro. I've still got my eye on one. Every time I walk in the garden center at Walmart I go look at them. But the wife says I have too many already. Let's get some meat in that machine. Ready to see how it performs.
I'm curious, after you do a cook, which you prefer, OkJoe's Bronco or Barrel House Cooker - especially regarding temp management. About losing that graph information, which always vexes me, I figured out the other day my dusty two year old Chromebook supports bluetooth and Android apps, so I was able to connect it to my iGrill and keep my phone free. I'd imagine the Inkbird would work the same way. Last but not least, check out the Char-Griller Chimney Starter, theirs has a mechanism that will drop the hot coals straight down, I absolutely love it. Keep up the good work!
Great review Meat. I'm not a big Char Broil fan. Most of their products are not the greatest quality. They work fine for someone who uses them occasionally. Sorry about the driveway!...oh...I was surprised though to see the thermometer sync up. Take care bud!
Hey this video gave me a great alternative on my UDS drums. I have the Webber 22 as the kids but now I want to find a flat lid for them and do what you did. It would be great for keeping my sides warm.. Thanks brotha for always "thinking outside the box" great video as always.
Sometimes only controlling the top damper can produce too much smoke in the chamber and not good smoke either, not saying that one does just something to be aware of. We have a huge stick burner and we have to set the top damper and control the heat by the firebox or it gets too smokey, we have a smaller smoker that is just the opposite.
Hey man, looking to get my first smoker. Looking between this one and the pit barrel cooker, have you used both? Have an opinion on which one should get, thanks in advance
Matthew Puryear44 I don’t have a Pit Barrel, however I hear great things about them. I know the density of the metal is about the same as in my Barrel House Cooker. My Bronco on the other hand is built like a Freekin tank. They are both very efficient and either one is a great choice. Me personally I would pick the Bronco, because I have one. Lol. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Just picked up my OkJ Bronco after work! I couldn't wait any longer lol. I'm fixing to season it, should I spray the cooking oil on the gasket seal on the lid as well with the rest of the inside or is it not good to get the seal wet? I've never had a pit with a seal like this before.
Clifton Tarrant Only spray the inside. The seal doesn’t need to be sprayed it seals perfectly fine. Congratulations. You are going to love that cooker. Thanks for watching and the support.
@@meatcranium4280 I sprayed it down with canola oil and tried to miss the seal, loaded the coal basket with lump coal and live oak, and cranked it up. I'm already in Love with this pit, the temperature like you've stated in your videos is so easy to control. Thanks for all the advice man, looking forward to seeing the new OkJ Bronco video Saturday!
Excellent review Meat Head. I seen a video with a guy that had an issue with that stack. I guess they fixed the issue which is good. Love how you can use a lid on the top as a warmer/cooker. Awesome review brother.
Thanks Brother, the lid trick will come in handy, and it gets pretty hot under there. I had temps at one point in the 300’s. Plenty hot to cook ribs. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
I just got this on Saturday 6/27/20. I am having the same issue with the temp gauge on the drum. It is about 70° off from my 2 other probes testing temps in the same area as the drums probe. I saw that yours was able to finally sync correctly or hone in. Has it remained honed in completely or has it gone back to being way off until you hit the very high temps? Thank you for your review video BTW, I'm now subscribed to your channel and look forward to your upcoming videos. Cheers Mate!
Tom Horsman It seems to be I really solid Cooker. I bought a piece of expanded metal and I’m going to work on a Charcoal basket mod while I’m on vacation. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
You got that backwards for adjusting the temperature. The top vent should only be used to control amount of smoke you want being put into your meat the lower vent with the 1,2,3,4 is actually the one you will use to control the heat. I've had this smoker for just about 2 years and I know it like the back of my hand. It's a decent smoker for the cost I have heard the pit barrel is better. My only problem is if you dont leave that top vent open the food tends to get pretty smoky. I use a weber kettle master touch now instead and would have to say the weber does a much better job. The oklahoma joe is not bad however the wife always found it to be a little bit too smoky especially during a long 10 plus hour smoke with such meats like the pork butt or brisket. If I had to choose something especially starting out in the smoker world I would definitely start with a weber. It you want it to feel more like a barrel smoker instead of the kettle style just get the weber smoky mountain.
I’ve said before play with it. I could probably do either one , it’s about airflow better the air flow the less or more smoke going across the meat. I do it the correct way for my situation. Try it my way and you will probably have less Smokey food. O yeah WSM is my dream smoker.
Great review brother .. Very detailed and informative about what you was doing and the temps . great points made abiut what you found that needs fixing and improvement. Great job
Sorry to hear your experience with the customer service. I just got one of these and had the same intake pipe problem. I emailed customer service and they sent me a confirmation of a new intake pipe being shipped days later
Wow!! It amazes me that they are still making them with Jacked intakes, I figured by now that issue would be corrected. Thanks for the support and watching Brother.
kanno1505 it ended up sealing itself up. I didn’t really get the marks removed entirely, however a Magic Eraser, and spraying a light coating of oil on the outside does some amazing things. Thanks for the support and watching
John S. It’s 21 inches fro the hanging bar to coals. I have never made ribs in either one of my Drum smokers. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Thinking about picking this smoker up to compliment my OK Joe's Highland Offset. I'm torn between this smoker and the Pit Barrel Cooker. Decisions, decisions.
H Phillips I think they have those issues corrected now. I absolutely love it. I has turned out to be one of my favorite smokers. Thanks for the support and watching Brother .
MeatCranium BBQ AND REVIEW I have been trying to get some information but can’t find it. What is the diameter of the charcoal basket and the grill cooking surface. I want to be able to use as a grill also. I think my battery on my phone will die before customer service answers
H Phillips The cooking surface of the grill is 18 inches wide the charcoal basket down below is just a little bit smaller I would say around 16 inches wide. I hope that helps. All customer service sucks anymore. LOL
Always wanted a barrel smoker. Just can't afford it unfortunately. Love my weber kettle but it can't compare to your smoker. Great video brother. Keep em comin
I have 3Weber Kettles and These Drum/Barrel Cookers are really efficient. They make the Best Turkey and Brisket that I have ever had. The Barrel House Cookers Are very reasonable and put out great products. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Kevin Foley They are nowhere’s as close to being this thick. These bronco smokers are 148 pounds of solid steel. My barrel house cooker is a very good cooking machine as well. However, when it comes to thickness and durability this has all of those cookers beat. So the extra cost of the smoker is in the metal not used. Thanks for commenting
I just bought one of these OJ drum smokers so I really appreciate this review. Wish I had watched it before I also bought my charcoal chimney. I bout the Weber because of it's reputation. Should have bought the OJ chimney - I can see why the taller Weber will be much harder to use. Oh well - Thanks for the video Meat
I like the looks and features of that OKJ but I like the space the Barrel House has better. And I don't recall the Barrel House cooker leaking grease...
That’s the exact reason why I do these Reviews so the the Consumer can be made aware of any goings on. I love my Barrel House Cooker and I will do a comparison between the 2 in the future. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
@@meatcranium4280 Finally picked one up at Walmart for a price I can afford, $150 on closeout. I'm about to season. Did you ever repair the oil leak? If so, what was the fix?

Thanks for the review!! That Bronco seems like a decent little cooker. I have contemplated building a UDS however, this might be a less expensive route, to see if I like to cook with a barrel. Time to unload my Blackstone griddles and look into the Bronco. I have a 28" slightly used and a 36" still in the box lol.
I am working on a few mods for this that will really expand the room. I really like it, it kept temps really well. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
@@meatcranium4280 DUDE, I finally receive my BBQ dragon grill stone, used it once and it cracked clean down the middle!! I emailed BBQ Dragon and am waiting a response. I got to say though, the rack of ribs it produced was phenomenal!!! I hope they warranty it!! Will let you know what they say.
@@meatcranium4280 Thanks for the reassurance!! I am not too worried about it. I have a few photos, (I don't know how to upload to YOU TUBE), that show what's up. Dang that thing did produce thee best rack of St.Louis style ribs, that I've ever cooked!!!!
MC you’re killing me man. You haven’t even cooked as much as a hot dog on this thing and I want one. Last thing I need is another grill. If I have to explain to Mrs Griller why I got one the bus is headed straight toward you my friend.

MeatCranium BBQ AND REVIEW LOL the greater good. I’m going to have to use that. Always appreciate your vids. Check out my TV dinner video. I might have got you one or two new customers. Have a great St. Patrick’s Day brother.
Great 👍 Review Seems like a great cooker, I got a chuckle when u set the lid on top. I thought if u had that lid why would u need bronco. But this being a ytube bbq channel an operator has many options😎
Lol. Very true.. I have many options. A lot of people have multiple grills and smokers. These lids can be bought separately. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
No. It seemed to eventually hone itself in after about 5-8 cooks, and even then it takes around an hour to read correctly. Thanks for the support and commenting
Good video I have a Oklahoma Joe's offset smoker and I can't get my coals to last me over an hour and a half at 250 temp what do you think I'm doing wrong
I never ever smoked in my life and wanted to get into it. I was researching offsets and came across the Bronco. What I learned is that offsets consume a huge amount of fuel while the Bronco can burn for 10 hours on a basket of charcoal. That made me purchase a Bronco.
That's clever......now you got a warmer on top! Saw one today for the first time..........it's Heavy! Metal is substantial.......gonna retain some heat.......will help with fuel consumption. Why are you seasoning that Stone? Pizza??? \m/
I’m seasoning it so I can do more experiments, and get it ready to go against the SNS. 🤫 SHHH!! Don’t tell anyone. Lol. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Great Video and thank you. Iv heard from previous owners about the same issues you disguss here. Seems they dont have any real concern with fixing them either. I looked at one on disply in Walmart today and it was a mess. That intake air tube is a joke ! The fit looks like it was designed by a pre schooler.
I made a Brisket cook on it yesterday and that Video will be up next Saturday. It worked great. Very efficient. There are a few things I’m gonna do to improve it. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Cooking with Kory Your the second one to suggest that. I don’t think it would get hot enough under the lid to bake a pie, maybe in the main cooking chamber. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
I ended up not doing it. The Bronco actually sealed itself after a few cooks, and I made sure the bolts were tightened all the way As well. No need for the sealer. Thanks for the support and watching
This is the compact chimney I have, the Weber 7447: amzn.to/2UMt4Ms. I think it's basically the same as the Pit Barrel Compact one perhaps a bit cheaper in price. That is impressive how fast the temperature reacts to the exhaust opening/closing! My graph always does that when I lose Bluetooth connection or swipe it away. I had it happen today in fact.
Light 'em Up Outdoors I will check it out, or I put the Hot coals in with the basket out then use something to place it down. Thanks for the support and watching
I cut a lot of clips out or this would have been a 25minute Video. I wiped Grape seed oil on it then threw it in there, that’s all. That footage did make the cut. Sorry. It just wasn’t very exciting to keep in. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
That is an Awesome idea, but I don’t think the temps would get to that high in order to brown the crust. If I can achieve temps of 350 or more then absolutely. This was my first run at it, I will be able to better access it after a few cooks. I do make a pretty mean Apple pie. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
@@meatcranium4280 you were running it at around 400 degrees which is 100 to 150 higher than what you're gonna smoke at. So it probably won't be hot enough to cook anything but may be good to warm baked beans, a glaze or bread. That heat can definitely be used for something
As cool as it looks I will stick with both my Barrel House cooker 14D and 18C especially since the charcoal is much easier and cooks so well.. Good review though
I have the 18C and love it. The 18C makes the best turkey and Brisket. I still have yet to use it for a long cook. I have Mod Videos on the Barrel House Cooker. Assessability to coals is definitely easier on the Barrel House Cooker
This thing isn't reviewing well. It's the same price as the PBC. The PBC is highly rated, and so many people swear by them. I like how you can move this around, and some accessories. I subbed. I'll be following how it cooks.
I think the earlier problems have been addressed. It seems to do pretty well performance wise. We shall see. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Don Wilson I modified my Barrel House Cooker and now it resembles a WSM. I’ve never owned a PBC, but this Bronco is formidable. A few Leakage issues, and the Baffle thing has been addressed. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
powerpowww Not very easy. You pretty much need to remove everything if you using the diffuser plate, if hanging just poor in some in, but use a short profile chimney like the one pit Barrel Cooker sells, or poor the coals into a metal bowl and poor in. Thanks for the support and watching
@@meatcranium4280 Great video! I gotta ask. If it is difficult to add coals/wood, then... what's the point? I mean (I'm serious; I don't know the answer) if you are cooking something like brisket or ribs or anything that required hours of cook time, you want to add wood without disrupting everything. With this in mind, how is this a good smoker? Again, I'm not trying to be snarky. I'm used to barrel/offset smokers or kettles with hinged grates. Great Video, again :-)
spatendark No problem. The challenge is the diffuser plate, if you have that up the you will need to move it, however if it’s not there just poor in new charcoal or throw Down some chunks of wood. This is what I like about the Barrel House Cooker, really easy to access.
@@meatcranium4280 I don't know; the diffuser look like a cool idea. To have to lift the lid, remove the meat, remove the diffuser, add fuel seems like a lot. I have never used such a device (obviously), so my question is: if you use wood chunks and you want to smoke for a long time, won't the chunks be consumed quickly? Then what? If you use meat hooks, after a while when it gets "fall off the bone" tender, doesn't gravity become a "problem" :-)
There was another RUclipsr that had issues with the intact being wrong and Charbroil was a douche to him as well at first but then finally admitted they fucked up and have a free part available to correct the problem IIRC.
I was wondering why the garlic salt was falling off the sides when I was seasoning my pit...

Ive been trying to find an article or video comparing the Bronco drum smoker to the Weber Smokey Mountain. I'm trying to decide witch one to get.
Can’t go wrong with either. I do not own a WSM however I’m working on getting one. I know the Bronco and Love it. The WSM how is more diverse from what I’ve seen. Thanks for the support and commenting.
@@meatcranium4280 the thing that intrigues me about the bronco is you can also bring up the charcoal basket and use as a grill as well.
I don’t need a grill at all
To make BBQ. I have cooked in the ground using a Dutch Oven, coals, and dirt. My best friend growing up was from Trinidad and his mom made phenomenal food, with great flavor, first time I had Roti and curry goat. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for the support and watching
Good review. Thx Chris.
Thanks brother I appreciate it
Great video!
Haha
Nicholas Sestito you made the right decision. That is a great deal. You can’t go wrong with a Weber Kettle
Thanks you for sharing.
woosa42 the seams on mine naturally sealed. The more I use it the more impressed I am with it. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
@@meatcranium4280 No, thank you, Now i am confident i can run both grates now because of this video. Just one question. How far did you screw in your temp gauge? Just curious because the instructions on that part was sketchy at best.
woosa42 I turned until I couldn’t turn no more then backed off it to straighten out, then tighten the nut on the back. Hope this helps.
And yes i did have the nut backed all the way off. lol
I absolutely love the step by step process and the information that you give to the average Joe! Seasoning process is a lil time consuming but well worth the wait. Also my o.k. Joe thermometer took a few cooks to start reading the correct temps. Great video brotha! Cheers and keepbbqing
Smokin’ Jazz Bbq Thanks DELABRO. These temp gauges have served me well. I appreciate your support and watching Brother
It's a bit awkward and involves too many steps to switch from smoke to grill mode. Curious if you found a practical way to reverse sear on the Bronco
I got the same price just today. Looking forward to using it
Damn.. walmart now has it for $311..
@@jorgecarrejo If you can wait til the fall they will probably have them on clearance for a lot less.
Cool bro. I've still got my eye on one. Every time I walk in the garden center at Walmart I go look at them. But the wife says I have too many already. Let's get some meat in that machine. Ready to see how it performs.
I have a pole in my Community Page on what my first cook should be. Brisket is in the lead. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
I never get enough of this one
I'm curious, after you do a cook, which you prefer, OkJoe's Bronco or Barrel House Cooker - especially regarding temp management. About losing that graph information, which always vexes me, I figured out the other day my dusty two year old Chromebook supports bluetooth and Android apps, so I was able to connect it to my iGrill and keep my phone free. I'd imagine the Inkbird would work the same way. Last but not least, check out the Char-Griller Chimney Starter, theirs has a mechanism that will drop the hot coals straight down, I absolutely love it. Keep up the good work!
Dan Cooke thanks for the heads up, I’ll check it out, yeah the graphing thing is a bummer. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
Good review. I enjoy all your videos. Keep 'em coming !!!
Nice burn in. Interesting looking smoker and love your idea with the WSM lid. Looking forward to watching some cooks. 🍻
This thing really has got some nice potential. I am going to do a pole as to what my first cook should be. Thanks for the support and watching Brother
I’m thinking of doing a beer can chicken on my WSM today. Cheers

What model ink bird are you using in this video/app
Sorry it took a bit to respond. It’s a IBT-4XS, I had to find it. Thanks for the support and watching.

I'm impressed with the response time and temperature control. The dripping grease was sort of gross. Good Review.

Do you think if you flipped the heat diffuser would a vortex fit for grilling
Jordan Banks Just replace the charcoal basket with the vortex. Thanks for the support and watching
Good luck if you are getting the temp gauge to line up with your temperature mine was between 60 and 100 degrees off.
Great job

Can build a uds under 100$
Kevin Foley They are nowhere’s as close to being this thick.
This is the compact chimney I have, the Weber 7447: amzn.to/2UMt4Ms. I think it's basically the same as the Pit Barrel Compact one perhaps a bit cheaper in price. Apple pie cook for the dome lid trick. Now you have desert. 😃
That is an Awesome idea, but I don’t think the temps would get to that high in order to brown the crust. If I can achieve temps of 350 or more then absolutely. @@meatcranium4280 you were running it at around 400 degrees which is 100 to 150 higher than what you're gonna smoke at. So it probably won't be hot enough to cook anything but may be good to warm baked beans, a glaze or bread. That heat can definitely be used for something

MeatCranium BBQ AND REVIEW What does PBC stand for?
L J Alibi Pit Barrel Cooker
How dose one add coal to this for longer cooks???
powerpowww Not very easy.
