If a relationship is well written I don't particularly care what the dynamic is. You just have to convince me it's real. This episode had a better love story in 30min than most shows and movies do in multiple hours. Would I have preferred a straight relationship, yes, did them being gay bother me, no. Why? Because I believed them. "I'm old. I'm satisfied. And you were my purpose". What a fucking line.

To the story? Probably none. Maybe made it worse in some ways. It's a preference. I prefer to not watch men kiss. It does nothing for me on any level. The same reason a gay person might prefer the couple in their show to be gay.

Bro it's was a waste of an episode. I played the game am would much rather see a whole episode of Joel and Ellie finding car parts with him instead of his gay backstory ending with him killing himself and giving Joel the car. Wasted time for a great show. But the beginning and ending of the episode was good

Yk bill was gay in the game too right, it is VERY STRONGLY hinted at during the game when he talks about his partner except the partners ending is a lot worse than in the show but just replay it and look for the note when the truck is fixed up
