@Niyah Nick as a producer/mixer...sometimes the track comes out kinda crappy, (vocals to close to the mic or they just aren't in tune)...a vocalist can only do so many takes where we tell them, "it's not enough, one more time"...so it's actually just a producer trick where we try to say, "my bad", so to not discourage the musician. It happens way more often than you would think.

Back in the days of reel to reel analog, getting a solid recording entailed doing dozens of takes exactly the same way and then cutting and splicing together all the best sounding parts until you had a perfect rendition. So anytime you listen to an old rock song from the 50s, youre hearing multiple performances. Occasionally someone would come in and kill it in the first take, but even then they would still record several more takes just in case the producer caught a minor fuck up or something later on.

Of the Rock and Roll classic movies this one stands out. Gary Busey and Lou D brought us a glimpse of what it must’ve felt like. That Thing You Do (Ala Tom Hanks) was another great glimpse into the old world of making a hit record. Walk The Line provided another full out look into the early world of Rock and Country .. there are so many outstanding performances in film.. but the real performers are the real stars.. Bless them All
