Margarita is such an inspiration. I can't help but notice how Russian rhythmic gymnasts, despite being the winners in everything since 1998, always seem so humble, achievable and down to earth. Maybe it's because Irina Viner tells every champion, 'when you're in the podium you're a queen, but when you come down you are nobody'.
It's delightful to see two top athletes of their respective sports be genuinely interested in trying something that they normally don't do or have no prior experience, but still give out solid efforts and being encouraging to each other.
I already watched it on your site. Let me just say how happy I am that you made this. Thanks so much! It's crazy how nice Rita really is, I mean, she's so beautiful, kind, tries to speak english, not showing her crazy skills to not embarrass the other one, and of course SO hardworking and talented. She just is so nice! And considering that she almost died for those Olympics, it's even more special. She is the one who convinced me that perfect people really exist. I just love her.
Mariana eb Rita worked crazy hard for this. In a recent interview, Amina Zaripova, her personal coach, said that doctors told her once that Rita's blood was black. Not red, not dark red, but black. Because she was training so hard. Also, Rita had high fever just days before the Olympics, and she couldn't take any medicaments as it would have been considered as doping. She worked through, trained nevertheless. Exhausted. You see now how hard they really train? When her coach was a gymnast back in the 1990s, she didn't have medals at the Olympics. She seriously thought about suicide after. The Olympics mean everything. That's why I think RG is the toughest sport that exists so far. Because it's so subjective, yet so demanding.
Sylla Atlas To be honest, i think figure skating is on par with rhythmic gymnastics in terms of difficulty. But yes, Margarita suffered so much for her sport and she succeeded! :)
OK..... so I was never a big fan of Margarita Mamun, but after watching this, seeing how humble and kind she is....plus her ENGLISH is amazing---- I absolutely love her 😍😍😍😍
Well professional gymnasts/dancers/ice skaters are sometimes forced to loose weight. Weight limit in many schools are 50kg. I'm a ballerina, 160cm and 47 kg.
I followed Rita 2 years before Rio olympics ..the olympics was the most tense time and nail biting watching each of her 4 routines in the final..but she absolutely nailed it..Olympic Champion..I had tears in my eyes..and I’ll admit it..
This looked so much like a teenage comedy about two girls; the pretty girl and the tomb boy, who are forced to be friends but find inspiration and admiration for each other through their passion for different sports. I loved it!
I have to add that I love that Margarita got to experience celebration in her efforts as rhythmic gymnastics is essentially a solo sport. They enter the olympics as a team and have their coach with them to encourage & guide them but when they perform, it's only them against other gymnasts. Thanks Heather for being genuinely encouraging.
What a cute episode! Rita is such a humble athlete. She reminds me so much or Alina Zagitova and vice versa. Both humble champions! I’m sure Rita would be a great coach on day ❤️
It's interesting that even when the Gymnast runs, she is still very delicate. It seems like she is conditioned to make her every movement look good regardless of how efficient or fast.
As a foreigner who came to US back in 2012, I was surprised they referred football to the 'US football'. They said soccer instead 😂 I was surprised, tho.
Hey cool..the worlds most popular sport vs the worlds most beautiful sport..both have fun attempting the different code .its . obvious Rita has amazing skill of body / mind and can pickup very quickly the technique...i would have loved to see the comparison done with the ball routine of gymnastics vs football....lol Imagine Rita in the Russian National Football Team..id be a fan..who wouldnt..
@@patem7379 , I actually see the potential in Margarita for learning football. Just more training and... I think what RG and football have in common is good coordination that's why they were chosen to swap.
Zoey Long I know it was perfect! Specially now that i just saw a picture of a rhythmic gymnast doing over splits with the caption "if gymnastics were easy they'd call it football". Then i came to youtube and this was the first video recommended
Why, I mean I can’t find how a rhythmic gymnast is going to work by trying to find control while playing football and how a football player is going to find control and with the flexibility in rhythmic gymnastics
Oohf. Isn’t ribbon one of the harder apparatuses? I’m impressed that Heather’s ribbon didn’t tangle. Margarita seems like she’s really easy to get along with. She’s always given off that impression in interviews before. She speaks really good English too.
God, I love Heather O'Reilly. Legend on the pitch, all around amazing person and role model to so many girls around the world, especially female footballers!
I love Rita, she's such a likeable person, it's in the way she speaks, she smiles. Irina Viner is very hard on her gymnasts to prevent them from becoming arrogant, but I think there was no need with Rita. I like how Ms O'Reilly knows perfectly she can't do it, but tries all the same and smiles and keeps a positive attitude.
I think the main difference between these two sports is that rhythmic gymnastics is 100% choreographed and the only improvisation necessary is if you or a team member make a mistake. But on the other hand, football is all about versatility, strategy, and endurance.
It'd be interesting to see the football player trying with the ball haha I've always found the ribbon to be the most difficult apparatus. Rita English is so good!!! :)
Hockey swapped with figure skating would be awesome. I know some male figure skaters (Charlie White, Scott Moir) did some hockey when they were young, so have female figure skaters swap. Like, Gracie Gold doing hockey in full gear would be awesome.
The only reason i clicked on this video is because of Margarita Mamun. She is so talented, graceful, and so sweet!!! Also I do rhythmic gymnastics and it is not easy!!! The apparatus’ hurt and r very expensive!!!
I'm a Rythmic Gymnast and it's fun hard and did ballet when I was younger so rythmic gymnastics wasn't that hard but it was still difficult because I wasn't flexible and now I'm really flexible
Really enjoying this series! I wish there was Synchronized swimming swap. It’s an incredibly difficult and beautiful sport that doesn’t receive a lot of attention. It would be prefect for this series!
Interesting to see how both sports require athletes to have opposite character, not just different body. One needs you to be a tomboy, another - a delicate princess
This video was sooooo cool I loved it! It’s nice to see this because football (or soccer) and rhythmic gymnastics are my two favourite sports even if it’s a VERY crazy combination😂🖤
Please could you do a video incorporating netball? Like maybe Netball v basketball as everyone is always comparing them for some reason or even netball v football since netball controls the Ball with the hand and the other with the feet.
I do artistic gymnastic since I was 6 years old but my favorite sport is women's soccer ⚽♀️... I watched a lot of matches where played O'Reilly, it's really fun to see her do gymnastic
honestly it would be so cool to see a Rhythmic Gymnastics/Artistic Gymnastics swap! like see the differences in strenght and flexibility ratio
I've been wanting this for years
foali doe I agree with u
Ikr I’ve been waiting for that for forever
Also a rhythmic gym / ice skating swap
So I am a soccer player, someone explain artistic gymnastics

alecsia96 That’s why they keep winning, they don’t let their successes spoil them, they take nothing for granted.
Sylla Atlas it’s the doping
Al Melendez you know that doping won't do anything in rhythmic gymnastics?😂😂
I don't think that Irina is a good example for them.
yes, totally, thank god for irina viner!
It's delightful to see two top athletes of their respective sports be genuinely interested in trying something that they normally don't do or have no prior experience, but still give out solid efforts and being encouraging to each other.
Alex. A. Agree, they respect each other’s interest and sport, and how they try their best to put interest into each other’s sport, that is so great .

Sylla Atlas I felt like she tried to be "bad" in football :D
Sylla Atlas who almost died?

Olivia Lau True, figure skating is very tough as well

That reminds me of an anime/manga called Nana. It's also about the friendship between a girly girl and a tomboy-ish girl.
Tomboy.
Disney's seal of approval. 🐭

I love these because it shows the respect the athletes have for each other
my girl heather squeezing herself to say football instead of soccer
Americans: It's soccer. Football is American football
Meanwhile for O'Reilly: I'm sorry my fellow Americans, but it's football. Football is football
Rhythmic Gymnastics is one of the BEST SPORTS out there. I'm so happy that these two respectfully got to know the other's sport and had fun
I want to see simone biles swap with yana kudruavtseva!!! Its so interesting
Daimes omg yes!!
Lmao, that would be epic. Mostly because Yana would rock at beam and could probably teach Simone how to be less elephantine in her movements
I literally died of laughter having read your comment! Thanks:-)
alecsia96 jajajaja would be epic!
alecsia96 elephantine? Really?
What a cute episode!
Rita is such a humble athlete. She reminds me so much or Alina Zagitova and vice versa. Both humble champions! I’m sure Rita would be a great coach on day ❤️

A US athlete and she said football. I'm happy.
Right? I really despise the word soccer used for FOOTBALL. 🤦🏾♀️
SAY TANKS FOR BRAZIL.
I did not know Rita can speak english so well!
P.S i love her accent
Same
I love these sport swaps!

Margarita is awesome in everything

Swimming Swap with Artistic Gymnastics! Like Michael Phelps and Oleg Vernayaev? Katie Ledecky and Aliya Mustafina?

Wow i never thought i saw these great athletes together and sharing funny moments 👍 great
I'm such a big fan of both of them!

ORielly's first attempt with gymnastics was actually better than mine. This was a very contrasting sport and very entertaining to watch. Lol
They are both such accomplished, beautiful, strong young women. 👏👏👏👏👏

Best sport swap for me so far. Both very friendly humorous =)
Figure skating vs rhythm gymnastic?
i loved it , but please , give us the volleyball and handball ful replays from rio 2016!!!!
just beacause we love you olimpics s2
both women were awesome!
Me encantó este intercambio de deportes. Margarita es muy hermosa.
my lovely Rita :)
This is a great video idea.:) good job:)))))
Amo a Margarita 😻😻😻 me encantaaaa
Favorite moment 10:38 haha Margarita 😍😍
OMG i love sports swap!! I want to watch synchronizing swimming swap with water polo.. :)
We did a small ribbon routine in middle school PE. The hard part is not letting the ribbon touch or drag on the floor. Arms tired!
Φοβερό τέλειο βίντεο!!!!❤❤❤
Rita is so sweeeet
i always see a bit of alina zagitova in margarita - is it just me? hahaah
same though
Haha, this was fun. What a neat idea. I’ve never heard Rita speak English before. It’s quite good! Such a sweet girl.
This is really cool, thank you
Can u make one synchronise swimming swap swimming love ur videos . Cos I'm a swimmer and u wanna try synchronise swimming

I’m also a rhythmic gymnast!!!!!! 😃😃
