Hey Mate, this video just saved me couple of $$$ thank you so much👍
Hey mate, this is probably the best roller shutter repair video on RUclips, let's hope the algorithm gods smile upon you soon
I have a couple of questions:
1. At what point do you have to throw out spring fasteners?
2. What is the service life of an L10 battery powered motor
3. What are the common causes of a motor not wanting to turn?
Cheers!
Haha thanks 🤩 I hope so 🙌🏻
Unless the spring is split it should be ok. Can even technically reuse it if it snaps just use the spare hole. (But would have to do that for all of them
L10 battery motor lasts many years but depends usage. Maybe 10-15 years or more. Batteries around 5 years. Test it by hooking up your drill battery to the wall terminals
Thanks for sharing you legend!
Any time! 🫡
Shout out from Belgium. This video just saved me ~ $400. How can I buy you a beer?
Hey, G’day from Australia, that’s amazing! I’d love a beer but would be more than grateful for just a quick review for the business 😎 goo.gl/da4ozW
Thanks from Spain - I replaced my own broken slat with this video.
Fantastic work 👌🏻
Very helpful video thanks mate for sharing your experience 👍👍
Thank
Thanks mate! Your Ozzy explanation helped me te repair my own shutter. In what town was it recorded? Up north?
Awesome, glad it helped. This is in South Australia at the Golf Club
I swear I have the same roller door on my garage here in Germany. I’ve just bought the house, the door was temperamental to say the least, and today it’s gone all the way up and over on itself. Any tips? Thanks a million.
Very cool! Hard to say though. Sounds like the automatic limit system inside may have broken and it didn’t stop
In the UK we call them T straps or curtain toggles 👍
Beauty, yeah T Straps is a good name.
No idea why they are called springs over here but I assume it’s because they spring the slats back when closed
Where's the electric motor mounted ?
Inside the axle it’s a tubular motor
Was removing the broken slat hard to do? Can i just pull it out? Gonna repair my own shutters using your video this weekend
If you’ve got room on the side yeah just take out the rivets to the connecting springs, lift all the slats up and over the axle, then slide out any slats. You’ll just have to remove the little end clips
Do recommend any lube for this type roller?
Not typically needed however I always give everything a good silicon spray on all moving parts.
What size rivets did you use? Thanks
Normally 3.5mm
@@rollerdoorsmy friend, I just completed repairing my ancient “WinBlock” shutter over my balcony slider for about $$50 bucks. Bought the “springs” online, a pop rivet gun and the correct rivets, followed your tutorial (wishing like hell I had Viking Arms!), adjusted the limit switch, and boom, like new again.
Huge thanks!
