Restoration - Old handmade butter churn

- In today's video, we also renovated this universal beater
You may have already encountered this device
or you saw him and your grandmothers or great-grandmothers
This device with its strong and special construction
holds more performances
butter can be whipped in it, it can be used for whipping egg whites
, for making mayonnaise or whipping various creams
Simply and simply used for whipping, mixing
And today we make butter
Did it also happen to you that you whipped it while whipping it?
Yes. And in a way, we started making butter there
We don't need anything more than fresh cream to make butter
Fresh cream should mainly be without stabilizers
So let's do it :)
Fill the container with cream
The cream should be approximately 12 ° C
We 'il close the container
We start whipping before we get whipped cream, then butter balls start to form
Buttermilk begins to separate
Rinse the butter in lukewarm water
Soak the mold in cold water for half an hour
Wooden butter molds are made of linden wood
they were carved and various motifs were cut inside
and the butter then looked very nice
The molds were made rectangular, round and the patterns at the bottom were variously carved
We still boil the mold with hot water
we pour out now,
and squeeze the butter into a mold
take the form and tap the butter
and this is our finished result, butter
and buttermilk created by the department

Pro tip: Add a dollop of yogurt to the raw cream, for creamier butter. From one butter maker to another.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try :)
What is cream? What is the difference between milk and cream
@@AbdoTawdy Cream is the milk fats the rise to the top of fresh milk. It's a thicker and denser milk. You know how there is the different milks, Skim-1%-2%-Whole. "Cream" is the type called Whipping Cream at the store. It has more milk fats than drinking milk.
Wouldn’t it effect taste? Yogurt has growing organisms you know. Maybe cuts a butter shelflife in half.
@@hana.the.writer5074 I've found no difference in taste, just mouth feel. All you're keeping from the yogurt is the fats.
Fantastic restoration and demonstration, it makes the restoration much more interesting when the finished product is fully demonstrated. The two of you really compliment each other in your videos.
Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you for the nice words :)
Thank you . Not for just the restoration, which was excellent; but for reminding us of how things we tend to take for granted were actually made. Again, thank you, for bringing the past forward.
Thank you so much for the beautiful words Rob :)
I've never seen a butter churn like that. It's so pretty now that you've refurbished I it. I also loved your butter molds. Beautiful selection.
¨Thank you so much Nena :)
I seen many before but i never seen this one he did such a good job on it
@@davidfleming1115 I've only seen ones made in America I think. He restored a lot of things and always does a good job. My favorite restoring channel.
I've got one that's new. A reproduction.
@@terrystover7365 I guess maybe it's because I don't churn butter very often. I only see them by chance if I happen to run across them in a antique store or a second hand store, or of a friend happens to own dairy cows.
I grew up making butter with a churn like that. I would also like to thank you for restoring it to usability and not some museum piece all shiny.
Thank you so much :)
Your restorations are already amazing, but the demonstrations, in the end, make the video even better.
It's 6am right now and I'm more than ready for my beakfast :D
Love from Brazil.
Thank you so much Marcio :)
What great work you did to restore that butter churn! I've never seen one that small, though; it must only make about 200 g of butter at a time.
FYI, in English it's called a butter churn or just a churn; a buttercup is a kind of flower.
Thank you so much :)
Mám pocit, že žena smetanu kupovala někde v obchodě, nemáme zde přístup k domácímu chovu .
The two of you make quite a pair for restoration and explanation of use. You deserve some kind of award.
Thank you Wiley :)
This warms my heart. That little butter churn got a new life and looks better than new. The butter was so lovely with flowers from the wooden mold.
We are happy Calamity :)
Yet another awesome restoration! I love learning the history of the items you restore at the end of each video. Thank you!
Thank you Neil :)
I like this restoration. It's very natural looking. ...these things are not supposed to look like a 57 Chevy that the other channels would have done.
Thanks, but I would like chevy 57 in my garage :)
Relics of a life that I really miss. Thanks from Hungary!
Thank you :)
It is like a blockbuster movie to see the machines and the other restorations on your channel. But, this is more of an intimate kind of an "independent, human film," if you think about the person that conceived and made this for a wife, mother, or grandmother. If you think about the humble person taking the milk from their cow, or from an exchange with a neighbor, and made their own butter, perhaps to used right out of the jar, or to be molded in a personal favorite butter mold. One of those meditative chores one does to think or quiet their minds; never letting their hands be idol lest the devil slips in. Thank you for this video.
Thanks James :)
You two work so well together. One does the work and the expert explains it....
Wow, thank you so much :)
Great restoration. Remember well as a young child being told to come and churn the butter?, great memories.
👉👍
Wonderful work.
My father was one of you .
I am a Mr. Magoo myself although a plastic modeler.
The world needs more of your kind.
Best regards from Brazil .
Thank you Walter :)
The best video to watch in the morning before breakfast.
Lol
I have a DAZEY butter churn that my grandmother had. I am 68 and she set up housekeeping around 1900. The churn still works quite well
That's great ! To remember the descendants, just like me after my ancestors! Thanks Loren :)
I was raised using one of these ,made lots of butter 🧈 😋 in my younger years thanks for sharing this with us luv your video
Thank you Billie :)
Another great restoration by your husband and you. Thank You.
Thank you so much Frank :) Veronica and Radek
My grandma had one like this, only with metal paddles. I made butter with her once over 60 years ago. Thanks for a wonderful walk down memory lane.
Thanks for the beautiful words Vickie :)
I don't know what I liked better. The restoration or the demonstration. Really cool stuff. I like the butter 🧈 molds.
Thank you so much :)
Love to see the original skills are still taught. Thank you and God Bless.
Thank you Roger :)
Všechny tyhle starý věci a "technologie" mají svoje kouzlo. Nemělo by se na ně zapomínat. Je fajn, že je zachraňuješ a oživuješ..... 👍
Ano souhlasím s tebou kamaráde :)
Very similar to my grandmother's Dazey churn made in USA and which has pride of place in my display of family antiques. Happy to see this.
Thank you Diane for keeping your ancestors' items, I do too!
Radek and Veronica, you are a great team and you do the best restorations. I love your channel!
Thank you very much, we are delighted :)
Now I’m hungry 🤤👏👏
Lol
Oh my Word !! You just brought back a flood of memories. Fresh homemade bread an fresh churned Butter an salt an Beefsteak tomatoes. Slather your bread with the butter add the tomatoes an salt to taste Yum It's like a slice of heaven. I inhearted my taste buds on that from my Mother. She being a Country girl an Dad being a Small town boy both grew up eatting homemade Bread an butter. Thank you Both for the Great Video. Take care of you stay away from the Monkey Pox.
Thank you friend for your story. And you forgot about fresh crispbread from the oven! Yum
Clean restoration, haven’t seen one of these in 30-40 years.just keep doing what your doing and carry on 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thank you so much Tom. Big hug
*Me looking at the glass jar:* Put it in the dishwasher, it'll be fine.
Radek: *does*
This manual butter churn was sensational, congratulations Radek and Veronica, for more this restoration. a hug.
Thank you so much my friend :)
This is fantastic. Love the second part with the girl.
Thanks Dawson :) Veronica
When I was growing up on the family farm, we had the exact same churn. The taste of that butter is still incomparable to this day. Awesome work and thanks for invoking some fond memories!
Thank you :)
Takovouhle stloukačku na máslo měla moje prababička v Chyšné na Vysočině. Domácí máslo je domácí máslo. Povedená renovace. I názorná ukázka stloukání.👍 Pavel
Ano souhlasím Pavle, domácí máslo je opravdu dobré a relativně snadné vyrobit. Díky Radek
My wife has one of those. It needs to be restore. But she won't let me touch it.😂 She says she likes it as it is.
Yes, if it has it as a decoration, I agree :)
The wood molds are beautiful too.
It brings back memories, there are lots of interesting articles in the room at the end and it would be great if these were demonstrated.
Thanks. Go through archive videos :)
Very nice restoration. My Grandmother had several of these churns and some large ones too. We would spend all day making butter...
Thank you for your story :)
Love the demonstrations and history you give at the end of each episode. Fast becoming one of my favourite restoration channels to watch on youtube
We are very pleased with the flow, thank you :) Radek and Veronica
God job AGAIN ! I wish i can have your talent! Thanks to the beautiful Veronica the butter looks very good!👍💋❤️
That's right :) Thanks Yves :)
Fantastic restoration I liked and know the process of making butter. And I was surprised it deserves 5 stars for excellence ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great job restoring and making the butter so many don’t know how thank you.
Thank you Debbie :)
I used one of these as a child. Much more time consuming than what was portrayed but always loved doing it anyways. :)
Thank you Mel :)
Very nice restoration. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the wooden paddle was. The only thing I would mention is that this is unsalted butter. If you want it salted you would knead in the salt after it is rinsed. Usually 1/4 - 1/2 tsp per 2 cups cream depending on how salty you want it. I love the butter molds. They are on my "someday" list.
I watched this one again Radek & Veronica, you did a very good job on this butter churn. Well done. Your friends Nick & Hilary
We're glad friends :) I hope you're feeling better Nick ?!
Well done Radek and Veronica, another wonderful restoration. 🙂
Výborně, Radku a Veronice, další nádherné restaurování. 🙂
Díky Bryan :)
oooohhh, nice, yum...!!!!!
Great the molds, very awesome.
The butter with a little of garlic...
Well, I have to add that garlic! Thanks, Aldo
Oh, I can taste that fresh butter on homemade bread! My mother made all our butter with a churn like that. My brother has it now.
I live in the US and I love your restorations. you do great work,
I'm glad, thank you Glenn :)
Your butter making demonstration is very nice and educational. Thank you
Thank you so much Peter :)
The Best restoration and demonstration ever. Incredible team.
Wow, thank you so much Toni :)
Wow! That was a full service video! Interesting to see the butter being made. Thank you for sharing
Wow, thanks :)
I've never thought about putting chives on bread. I have more than I can use right now so I will try it out. Thanks for the video
Yep, you don't know what you're missing. Lol
I love the fact that you also demonstrate how the device works ♥️
Thank you so much Elsa :)
Brought back many memories . Used one of these 65 years ago. We had a gallon jar and a little different paddle . after seperating the milk, we used the cream to male lots of homemade butter.Again, thank you for this video. Blessings and stay safe
Never saw those beautiful molds before. We just used cheese cloth to squeeze the buttermilk out of the butter and then wrapped the butter in wax paper.
Thanks for your story Donald :) Have a nice day
Well my friend the person made two because my grandma had the other. That little beauty made all our butter during WW2, I was the source of power.
👍😉
Nothing like all natural things.. thx for sharing.. think of us every time you eat that butter and how we get stuck with the fake stuff.. lol.. thx again for sharing.. take care my friends...
Very cool. Wish I knew the treatment he used on the metal. I couldn't believe it turned blue, then with the other stuff it turned silver. Loved the butter recipe too. Great build
The addition of tannin turns the metal blue. Thank you
I actually have one like this. I use it for demonstrations of butter making for children’s clubs like the Scouts.
That's awesome. It must be like magic to those kids if they've never seen how it's made.
That's great. We were making butter for the first time and I was surprised by the different appetite for being bought. It's delicious. Thanks Wanda :)
Fantastic job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Samatha :)
Nicely renovated. I love your RUclips channels, you get inspired by them
We are very pleased, Jerka. Big hug :)

Thank you both for watching Willie :)
Hi Radek beautiful restoration thanks Veronica for demonstrating how it works and how too make butter good job
Thank you so much Vince :)
Wonderful! Very pleasing to both the restoration and the demonstration.
That makes me happy, Doug, thank you
from what I've heard crushed walnut shells are really good in a sand blaster. doesn't harm the metal but will take off rust and paint. learned that from pawn stars when Rick was having something restored.
😉
Compliments ... a perfect restore, I love It.
Thank you Mauro :)
Yet another delightful restoration and video!
Thank you so much Euel :)
You and your wife are so incredibly talented! You make essentially trash look beautiful and she makes delicious looking butter on the spot like it's nothing!
As a food engineer I loved to see this special video. The demonstration how to produce a handmade butter was lovely.
Thanks a lot to share so nice video.
Hugs a lot from Brasil.
I'm glad, thank you :)
Wonderful, thank you. My grandmother had one like that and made her own butter here in South Africa
Thanks Richard :)
Thank you for the restoration and for the demonstration. In my youth, I remember a butter mold with a simple flower design
Thank you so much Dawn :)
That butter churn is a beautiful object and such a useful one too. I'm very pleased that you restored it and then Veronica used it to make butter. I would love to make my own butter, it is possible to buy these churns new, from the internet but they are very expensive. Well done Radek, a very entertaining video. Nick
Thank you so much Nick. I'll come up with something :) Radek
I’m gonna have to either find one or make one. Great resto as always.
When I think of the hours I spent cranking a Dazey churn as a kid ... room-temp cream in 2-gallon jars. We'd get about 3, sometimes 3 1/2, pounds of butter. Jersey milch cows. Later, milking black Angus cows, about a pound per gallon. Mom had a wooden butter mold. We didn't strain as in this video, but through paper filters. The buttermilk made the best biscuits / cornbread. Life on a farm, 45+ years ago.
Wow, thanks for your story Sarah :)

Awesome restoration! Great demonstration! 👍
Thank you so much :)
Thank you for this restoration you have made a lot of progress compared to the first butter shack in 2018 I think . You have acquired more know how to do bravo to you .
Merci Vincent :)
Perfect butter and I'm happy it's restored 👍🏻
Thank you Rick :)
Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you Angelo :)
I would recommend replacing the wood with something non-porous if you plan on using it. Wood can hand in to all kinds of nasty bacteria. Beautiful restoration!
Thank you Erin :)
The molds are very beautiful.💙
Thank you :)
And a huge thank you for adding english translation. Keep up the beautiful restorations.
Thank you Elliott :)
LOVED the butter making demonstration 😃
