  • This is our trip up to Flaming Gorge in July. Day 1 we motored up to Buckboard from Lucerne thinking we could hook into some big kokanee. We didn't do so good with only 3 for the day and just one nice fish. Day 2 Jesse and Al come up to fish with us. We started a bit lower by Brinegar's Ranch and the worked our way up. We lost a couple of nice ones but still got a few in the boat 1 koke at 4lbs. We had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Richie Hight owner of Paulina Peak tackle. Really great guy and even greater prostaff team. Will definitely never forget this trip. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and until next time we hope to see you on the water.

Looks like a good time. I’m going up there next weekend and staying with Chad and going to fish on his boat. I’m excited. He sent me some pics Today of a couple of 5 pounders someone caught up there.

I’ve been wondering what you are using to stack your rods on the downriggers. Thanks - a fellow Ute.

We attach the bottom rod to the clip on the ball. Go down about ten feet and attach the top rod with a stacker clip. Then send it down to the desired depth. We like Scotty brand clips.

When stacking do you set the top rig long or short set back?

We have tried both and have got tangles either way. Right now we have a longer set back on the top rod. I guess tangles are just a part of stacking on the downrigger. 😀
