Strawberry Reservoir Kokanee Fishing

Fishing again at Strawberry Reservoir after those silver bullets. Managed to get a couple of limits before the heat became unbearable. Paulina Peak Chelan Sunrise dodger and orange cootie did the most damage. With the Paulina Peak Moon Jelly with Multi colored micro hoochie a close second. You two have been killing it this year. How are you connecting your top line on the rigger wire? Do you have too bring up the ball and reset everything when you catch a fish on the bottom line? Thank again for sharing your adventures.

Thanks! It looks good when you don't upload the videos when all we catch are cutts. Hahaha! We use a release with a stacker clip. Yes you have to bring it all up. I'm trying to convince my wife to buy a couple more downriggers of you see them on the videos you'll know I was successful. 🤣🤣

I'll be there Saturday - can you give me a hint of what areas and how deep? Do the triangle from the bay to Haas point to Mud creek and back? How deep?

Try over by sage hen knoll and the ladders between 30-40ft deep. 👍

Looking good. We’ve chased the kokes afew times this summer at strawberry. We had better luck on the strawberry side.

We like to fish both depending on the time of year. Spring and fall we go to the Soldier Creek side. Summer time on the Strawberry side.

@@knottyhookrfishing9424 did you fish the derby at the gorge in the end of June? We fished for kokes up there in the Wyoming side and did really well. I lost a 4-5 pounder at the boat 😳

No I didn't do any derbys this year. Hoping to get some in next year. It's always heartbreaking losing a fish that size at the boat. 😭

@@knottyhookrfishing9424 there was about 25-30 boats that all floated around the same bay and followed the schools. It was pretty wild trolling in between all the boats. The gorge is huge and all the boats stayed in one bay all weekend. It was fun. My buddy was on the team that won for kokes. He was fishing with some tackle company owners and he also had spilt milt with him up on the boat

This particular trip we found them along Mackinaw Point headed towards Mud Creek and then in front of the dry storage facility out into the middle of the lake. They were 35-45 ft deep.
