IN 2009 ON CHRISTMAS EVE I WAS IN A COUNTRY IN EUROPE "" ILL NOT MENTION THIS COUNTRY BUT PLEASE BELIEVE ME IT'S A VERY WEALTHY COUNTRY "" I WAS WALKING DOWN THE STREET AND IT WAS -20 FREEZING COLD AND SNOWING " THERE WAS A MAN ON HIS KNEES BEGGING FOR FOOD "" EVERYONE JUST SEEMED TO IGNORE THIS POOR MAN BEGGING "" I WALKED UP TO THIS MAN BEGGING ON HIS KNEES AND HE WAS PRAYING TO ME FOR HELP" I TRYED TO TALK TO HIM BUT HE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND ME" SO I WENT AND GOT THIS MAN A FEAST OF GOOD HOT FOOD AND A MUG OF HOT TEA AND A LARGE BOTTLE OF WATER AND THEM RETURNED TO THIS BEGGING MAN PRAYING ON HIS KNEES AND GAVE HIM THEM TO HIM"" THE MAN STOOD UP AND I GAVE HIM 20 EURO AND WISHED HIM ALL THE BEST FOR CHRISTMAS "" I LOOKED AT THE PEOPLE'S WALKING PAST SEEING ME HELPING THIS MAN ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND THEY GAVE ME DIRTY LOOKS"" STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN IN ALL HUMANS LIFE'S AND NOBODY'S SHOULD EVER LOOK DOWN ON SOMEONES MISS FORTUNES""
Anyone of us can end up homeless at any point. I have walked in those shoes and there is nothing more frightening than not knowing where you will sleep, eat, work. This global problem is growing like a cancer.

I object to the Eastern Europeans begging and pretending to be homeless, its a disgrace. In Hamilton and Motherwell you wont find a Scottish person selling the Big Issue as they have been threatened off their pitch by the Eastern Europeans.

Aye they do it all the time-they have a bed they get welfare-they take what little geniune homeless ppl get-folk think homeless get all sorts begging if u ask them usually they are lucky to get a tenner for entire day-these Romanians are a bloody disgrace.

I used to work In the Peter McCann hostel at Kyle st . and the council closed it and demolished it along with a few more as I have been away for years I have not seen any of the hostel client's so sad the guy's were all brilliant and people reading this you would not believe what back grounds people came from

Quick update on Sean Burns the homeless protagonist in this video. Shortly after this shoot Sean was spotted by legendary director Philipe Des Montifiore and cast as Oscar Wilde in his rom- com/horror film Legends of Dross ; subsequent positive reviews have propelled Sean into the A list of performers and he is now on a shortlist with Brad Pitt, Oliver Scrunt and Horace Mills to play Marvel superhero Duvetman in the forthcoming movie of the graphic novel Streets of Tedium. Sean is currently residing in Cannes with his girlfriend Pamela Dunt the Victorias Secret model and heiress to the multi-billion Grandfare empire.

This is still a big problem. Glasgow City Council was in the first stage of being taken to court by Shelter Scotland. This was because the the council was illegally refusing to give temporary housing.
Most the general public are clueless, always put the blame on the victim.
the milk of human kindness is to provide people with a reason to get off the streets, and not provide a reason to stay on them!.
What's keeping them on the street? You're obviously never even had the threat of being homeless.

What is a 'homeless application'?
A type of application for social housing available to homeless people. Typically a lot more quickly processed than applications made by those with some type of housing.
These Romanians you see begging in glasgow city centre etc these ppl aint homeless they all live in one gaff they sit all day pretending to be homeless begging,they get picked up at night-you wont see them at night-sean burns-=is a fiend is why he is homeless

I was sleeping rough when this documentary was made. Nicola sturgeon walked about the streets one night for photo ops. She made a load of promises but did fuck all. Rough sleepers can't vote. I got my own place not long after but that was after being homeless from the age of 16 to 25. I never got to be a young girl. I've been gang raped, robbed, beat up for no reason through being homeless. You get people who buy you food and you're so hungry you eat without question, say a McDonald's or something, 99% of these people are genuinely trying to help. 1% will watch you eat then laugh and tell you they've spat in it or something
