So happy to follow the hype and give it a chance to Fontaines D.C. So far, Death Kink is one of favourites songs. So many bands come to my mind when listening to this. In The Modern World is the other one that has me hooked. How do they continue creating so amazing music and lyrics? Please, continue.
funnily enough I got into Wire indirectly through Fontaines, since they were the band that made me give post-punk another go. Wire then quickly became one of my favourite bands ever
Its all over the top and so enormously hyped. Some nice songs. Really. But not that grate. Lyrics nice for teenagers going cryptical. But they are in there tirthies. Producer totally drunk on fuzzy guitars and distortion ,became a member of the band, how odd. The luny dresses , a cry of despair. I loved them once, so sereen. But its all gone, gone, gone, gone. .
I appreciate your critic. I was expecting a lot more, but after some days, this album is growing in me. I would love to hear something more developed from the line of the first track (romance). I'm still going back to tracks like "I don't belong" or "Boys in the better land" after hearing some songs of the new album and trying to lock in my ears the original power of Fontaines DC. Anyways, they're going mainstream, it's a natural curve. And I don't judge based in their age or clothes, but somehow this sounds as a lazy album.
