In the US, the best value is in Taiwanese and Japanese tools, with Japanese tools being only slightly more expensive in many cases. With the strength of the dollar, I have been building a big set of Japanese tools. KTC / Nepros, Ko-Ken, Tone, Mitoloy, Asahi, Top, Focus Products / Flash Tool, Tsunoda, IPS Igarashi, MKK, Knicks, Engineer, etc.
I would never have been able to do this without this opportunity. The only issue is warranty, but I could buy three of each and it would still be cheaper.
