The problem with transparent/colored blocks i think is due to lack of memory you allocated to minecraft. When i play too long, i start to experience same problems with disappearing blocks. Try to allocate more RAM or restart your minecraft more frequently, i hope it helps.
Something that i think would be nice, is if you added the torch mod that makes it so hostile mobs can't spawn within a radius of the special torch that you can craft. There's a 'small' version and an upgraded version of the torch you can craft that has different radius's of effect! so it lets your house not have monsters spawn in it, but also keeps the threat of monsters still around!
Maybe you should always close the gate behind you. To avoid the "other gates are open when the monster is outside" situation you had early in the video.
Yo fitcereal, you could use a Grindstone to get EXP. you can use Enchanted Leather Armor, or just Enchanted Junk that you don't really want.. And, use it in the Grindstone, it removes the Enchantments and gives you EXP. It can really help you to gain levels
You should make it where they can't spawn on blocks you have placed. It just gets annoying that they spawn in your house. You know what I mean. Keep up the good work.

I'm really glad I was able to find your channel all those months ago, you've become one of my favorites c: If you've been wondering about your cloud glitch (the streaky appearance), it looks like you have Anisotropic Filtering interfering with your shadders. If you're using Nividia, the Nividia Control Panel likely needs to have the setting switched to "application controlled" for your Minecraft settings to apply correctly, or set to "off" entirely. This might also be why you've had a couple issues with blocks appearing incorrectly. Sorry if this wasn't useful!
