I had to google that as I wasn't sure what it was, I think I recognise it but not sure I've and it. I'll keep an eye out next time we go for breakfast. Where do you normally get it from?
Good morning Millie! I love prata and kaya toast/eggs too, but one morning favourite, especially of older Singaporeans, is pork porridge with youtiao (dough fritters). May not be as popular with the younger folk though. Btw, where did you have the heart shaped toast? Was it at the hawker centre at Woodleigh? Was thinking of paying the place a visit. Thanks!
@@kenzone I love the pork porridge! It’s what I tend to have when I’m feeling unwell actually. The heart toast was at the new woodleigh hawker ❤️ lots of good options for lunch and dinner.
@@WONDERLUSTworldhaha, you won’t believe it but I finally visited the Woodleigh hawker centre yesterday afternoon. It is huge and so many good choices! I didn’t eat the heart shaped Kaya toast but went for coffee and yu tiao. And as I was leaving around 3.45pm and driving along Upper Serangoon Road (just opposite the mall) towards Braddell, I thought I saw you riding your bicycle in the opposite direction on the sidewalk. Was that you? 😅
I am a big fan of the thick fluffy bread versio of kaya toast and eggs myself! I tend to go to Ya Kun or Fun Toast, but that's usually just because they're the easiest to find XD
I'm glad there any so many paces to get it from for all the different preferences. Our kids like Fun Toast, Milo often wants kaya eggs for dinner if he's not feeling that hungry.
Those eggs were perfect. 👌 Overcooked and you spoil the dip, texture ruined; undercooked and it might as well be RAW, as Gordon would say. I tip me hat to the coffee shop aunties who have consistent timing. 😂
Paradise for frozen food, that's what I heard from my Singaporean friends. They even say that the taste of frozen meat and fresh meat is just so different. When they want to taste fresh meat, they go to Johor Bahru for fresh chicken or beef...
I guess that can happen anywhere really. Both will have a different taste I'm sure but I tend to buy frozen meat for home anyway as we don't often cook at home much so it keeps something ready for when we do want to cook.
There is a difference between "every day" and "everyday," but Americans tend to ignore it. "Every day" is an adverb, like "every Sunday." "Everyday" is an adjective, like "an everyday chore." For example, "She takes her children to school every day," and "Her quarrelling with her husband is an everyday occurrence."
The way u handled the thosai with u hand so correct & local.
Hahah! Thank you! Tastes better that way! 😛
So local .... great to see!
Yeah! Can’t miss out on all the local delights.
Putu mayam with the orangey sugar is a less common food but I sometimes have it as breakfast.

The auntie is so cute. "Dee Dee Dee ah". Her presentation of the bread is also on point. 🤗

Instead of Kaya Bread Toast it comes as a steam Bread which we call as Kok Bread.
ooh nice and soft I'd imagine.

My mum said the same when she came for a trip!
Kway Chap
I’m not a huge fan of that but have tried it on a few occasions to see if I like it one place more. Where do you like to have it from?
