- We are asked multiple times per day what is the difference between our Primitive Pits Babe and the 1975 from our sister company Workhorse Pits. Both are 24" diameter smokers burning plus or minus five degrees. JD breaks it down a little better in this video.

Thank you JD, been waiting to see this one. Great video as always.
Still waiting on my 1975T can’t wait
I prefer the look of the babe but they are both beauties!
These look great! Are counterbalance available for the 1975? I worry about an older self having the shoulder strength to heft it up.
75 is great I'm in SC one day I'll buy from you.
The Babe is a pretty sweet looking rig, it's amazing how few videos of The Babe are on youtube, I wish more owners would upload their own videos of these things...
I got a babe I will upload a detail video soon
@@SmokeBark Nice thanks man!

Dying to see more.
Won’t get mine till October!
@@daherfamily7163 nice man! Did you get the top grill grate or the cowboy grill? ironically you said that I already shot the video
@@SmokeBark
Nice! Yes I did get the upper rack and the cowboy grill. Was going back n forth between the babe and the 1975 but finally decided on the babe.
So am I correct that the Workhorse wall thickness as almost twice that of the Babe? Is there any benefit of the curved/concave design from propane tank? Otherwise it comes down to size and/or looks correct?
The wall thickness of the Workhorse is nearly double than the Babe. In science talk, the important areas of the Babe (firebox and manifold) are 5/16. There is a micro difference in air flow between the two. Micro difference, meaning we can tell the minute air flow difference in the lab, but not enough to sway one over the other. Many people do choose the Workhorse based on the wall thickness and overall look. It is just more robust.
I would absolutely love either one of these pits, but the pricing is a little confusing. The babe is $2600 while the newer looking workhorse 1957 counterpart is only $2k.
The Primitive is 3x longer of a build. Using a repurpose tank vs raw material is why the pricing is different.
How much is the work horse
