Nice tribute. As a former Libertyland employee (1989-1993) I know a lot of people are going to miss the park, but the memories I have will last forever.
I am happy to say my community is helping to keep a piece of LibertyLand alive. Bay Beach in Green Bay, WI will be the new home of the Zippin Pippin. I'm excited A. that I don't have to drive 5 hours to ride a coaster and B. that part of LibertyLand's legacy will continue. So sad to see something that brought so much happiness to many was left forgotten and unwanted. Beautiful video, thanks!
I miss this place. My grandparents took me there every summer when I was younger. I wished it was still open because I wanted to take my husband to the place that I so dearly loved as a kid. Libertyland, you are missed!!
The Pippin apparently gave you a great view of Memphis...I was always to busy screaming ,my eyes closed in FEAR to notice a VIEW..It was then and remains--my definition of PURE JOY.
HOLY SHIT LIBERTYLAND!!! I can't tell you how many times I've been there as a kid and and I know that most of you all( including me) rode the zippin pippin and the revolution, but does anyone remember the kamikaze, when you went on it and you looked down, it looked like you're 1000 feet up!
Memphis is pitiful!! I mean really!! this was the best thing going for us!! now we have bass pro which is nice but nothing can replace that wooden beast that that called the zippin pippin!!!
the Revolution roller coaster is actually under construction at the Delgrosso's amusement park in Tipton, PA. it's scheduled to be open for the 2008 season
Cool video, brings backs lots of memories. I went there as a child, then took my cousin there when he was a child. Lots of fun times. So sad it's gone.
Me being born in 1991 about two hours away (we lived close to Jackson TN) means I thankfully got to go several times in my life. The last time I went there was 2004 though I can't remember the month. Must have been summer around June or July as it was when my dad came back from overseas. He was with the National Guard in Brownsville TN and got sent to Iraq in 2003 and was gone for a year. I remember him coming home and we went with some family friends of ours. Unfortunately I don't remember much about the day other then a few small things. I do remember some stuff from other times going as well but sadly not a lot of memories. Really wish it was open still but last I heard it was turned into a golf course.
I WENT THERE EVERY YEAR i waited a long time to go on a ride now all of my hope to go on that ride is gone i was seven now im 10 nothing is right anymore without liberty land i loved it there i was always going to go there for my birthday if i could i would die there. . . RIP liberty land if only i could re-live that moment. . .:(
every summer id come to visit my aunt and other family members in memphis and every yr id ask to go if i can remember i think i only was able to go twice and then when my aunt passed away in 03 was the last time ive been there and always wonder if liberty land was around and then when i found out it was closed for good my heart was broken :( RIP LIBERTY LAND
I remember i was so scared the ride the Revolution =) I remember that ride i always called the hammer head that i cried when I got on for the first time. I remember wanting to puke after being in the boat roller coaster thing =) I'mm miss it. its only in my memories now.. I was planning to go with my cousin and had no clue this happened to it. Its a shame, it was a good park. I'll miss you Libertyland!
@kablooie46 Would love to see Libertyland reopened. But with the Zippin Pippin being sold to a park in Green Bay Wisconson, would it be the same ? What would they bring back ? I MISS LIBERTYLAND !
@elvisworldwide The Zippin Pippin was originally constructed in 1912 and moved to the fairgrounds later. Do you realize that it's going to be reassembled in a park out in Green Bay WI ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who's to say that the good time's isn't over, every city need's an amusement park , this is just some bad publicity LIBERTYLAD WILL MAKE A GIANT COMEBACK with a low 1 ride price to fit your budget
Good caring white people died off that lived near the park that charged park attendee's parking at an all day price but watch here come's the blood's and the crip's
Actually Libertyland was I'm the Orange Mound area were it was and is predominantly black people. At that time the area was upper middle class Black people. The hangs didn't shut Libertyland down but the black offinamces diid.
well having near by casinos didn't help because people took their money there instead of taking kids to liberty land!! and with the living expense increase most of the peoples income is spent on higher living cost most people can't afford to go to places of entertainment!!! its still very sad that such a nice place had to shut down
Bring a six flags the memphis please!!!!!!! Or bring Libertyland back..or build a six flags in Mississippii...there's plenty of room there...They need to build a six flags in every state..
Nice tribute. As a former Libertyland employee (1989-1993) I know a lot of people are going to miss the park, but the memories I have will last forever.
I will NEVER forget when the FAIRGROUNDS were for the MID-SOUTH-FAIR, LIBERTY LAND, COLISEUM, & LIBERTY BOWL!

I had great memories at libertyland and now everytime i hear this song it's going to make me think of those memories and make me cry.

The Revolution was my ride. Ride it, get off and get back in line to go again!
@t38j19jb

...oh me too. Many years on the midway.
If I remember correctly we use to call it " Three flags over orange mound." Will be missed.
😞 in fact it actually did close in 2005! Liberty land that is! The fair stayed like 2 or 3 more years people! I went in 2008
I remember i was so scared the ride the Revolution =)

As of now its Tiger lane.
so is the park destroyed and replaced with a different area or they left the park alone?
Tiger Lane
@juliet97 You are SO right !
Loved Libertyland... got to ride The Revolution 3x in a row once, without the brakes...
but you misspelled 'Libertyland' in the final title card.
So am I. Were you at the Q1075 interview last year?
@elvisworldwide The Zippin Pippin was originally constructed in 1912 and moved to the fairgrounds later. Do you realize that it's going to be reassembled in a park out in Green Bay WI ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Green Bay Wisconsin and want to say RIP Liberty Land💔🙏 but the zippin pippin is fun in Green Bay
Who's to say that the good time's isn't over, every city need's an amusement park , this is just some bad publicity LIBERTYLAD WILL MAKE A GIANT COMEBACK with a low 1 ride price to fit your budget
Didn't that yellow drop tower go to Ghost Town in the Sky in North Carolina?
Elias Mertens i thought ghost town in the sky was in tennessee and became dollywood??
No. Ghost Town in the Sky is in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. rcdb.com/4585.htm
ok then maybe im thinking of silver dollar city. one of them became dollywood😂😂
Yeah. Dollywood's former name is Silver Dollar City. Although there is also another Silver Dollar City right here in Branson, Missouri.
That’s why I moved to nyc Memphis died years ago nothing but death and great food 🥘 💯💯💯💯
@RandallChambers yep, just days before his death, in fact.
2005 was the last time Libertyland was open to the public, you were probably on the fair grounds for the mid-south fair...NOT Libertyland
It closed in 2005 due to financial problems.
Wait a minute 7 flags hey that is more than 6! 7 flags, more flags more fun! LOL
@odog65 Really?
...the only thing left is Tops BBQ... hasnt changed... ever!
six flags went into financial problems and yet it still runs
Good caring white people died off that lived near the park that charged park attendee's parking at an all day price but watch here come's the blood's and the crip's
