I believe that there’s a rule deep in the MLB rule book that prohibits fraternization. Maybe they took it out. But it’s the reason why baseball is the only sport that doesn’t shake hands after the game. If it’s there, they should change it.
Well in mlb they play the team 3 to 4 times each time they play so it doesn't really make sense to shake hands after every single game. You can see players from opposing teams interact before the game starts though.

US MLB is the best in the world. I am from Taiwan and I can say that because Japan, Korea, and Taiwan all have Major League Baseball, but the players are not at same levels at all.
The number of people who forget that the Red Sox and the Yankees were caught for cheating in 2017 and 2016 respectively for using technology to steal signs is astonishing. They will also regularly boo players who weren’t even on the 2017 or 2018 Astros teams. Though (as evidenced by this last series) the Yankees still hate the Astros. Not sure how much of it is the 2017 thing though.
