    I recently moved to Connecticut from Atlanta. It’s so nice to see all the awesome varieties you’re able to grow! What a gorgeous garden! Loved the video! Thank you for sharing!

    You have a beautiful garden. I especially love your persimmon trees. I purchased a few fuyus recently and plan to keep them in pots. Also here in 6b.

    It’s hard to kill a fig tree. I’m from Virginia and they grow everywhere. I just relocated to Ct and I’m happy to see that they can do well here. I imagined that Chicago Hardy would do well here but everyone told me no. I will try it.

    Just found your channel looking up permaculture in zone 6. Thanks for posting! To me, you sound a lot like James Prigioni 🙂

      Ha, you're welcome. I don't think I could match James's enthusiasm, but similar background and both from the same neck of the woods.. I'm from ny though.

    It's great to have a propagation green house. Your garden is beautiful. A wall of figs. Do they survive in zone 6b. We're in zone 7b and this year they really struggeled to survive.

      Thank you! This year I finally broke down and bought a propagation Greenhouse. For years I was starting seeds indoors and it just got to be too much. As far as the figs are concerned, I'm going to make a part 2 to this video explaining how I overwinter them. There are many ways to do it but there is one way that I believe is far superior traditional methods of wrapping the trees.. I covered them but I don't wrap. There are people in zone 7A, specifically in Pennsylvania, who have a lot of success growing very specific varieties in ground.youtube Search " off the beaten path Nursery.

    Do you need to spray your apples and plum?

    • @Viva_la_natura
      @Viva_la_natura  3 года назад

      Although I have dormant fruit tree spray (organic) I did not spray this year. The garden is fairly well-established, and there's a lot of biodiversity so I have very few pest issues. The only pest that's here is cabbage moth but I've been lucky also

    Where did you get those persimmons and all those echinacea??? I'm close to CT but all the places around here are so overpriced

    • @Viva_la_natura
      @Viva_la_natura  Год назад +1

      The persimmons I purchased online from a terrific family owned nursery named "Just Fruits and Exotics". Unfortunately, for flowers, "Futners" on Silver Lane in East Hartford, closed their doors during Covid. I don't know if anyone took over the operation, but there was nothing like them, so much so that P. Allen Smith did a tour of their operation, which is on RUclips. You can look on Craigslist, some residential perennial flower garderners sell flowers out of their home...Once you have them there is always an over abundance; I've composted so many over the years. If cost is a concern just start them from seed and wait an extra year...

      Make. If you go on "ourfigs.com" and research "winter fig proection" they have a lot of great ideas.

    So far I have pre diabetes watching this. SO much "natural" sugars. Not enough time in the morning to take these fruits all in. I will hope and pray for some starches and esp tomatoes and peppers/onions. You're doing a good job!

      Thank you. The ending is French..lol jk. In all seriousness in the age of Tik-Tok I didn't think anybody would watch the full 16 minutes. There was a part two but it's basically me just spacing out videoing butterflies..😉
