I grew up in Shanghai before moving abroad, and seeing Toast, Yvonne, and John exploring places I used to visit as a kid was so cool. Even though they had the "cheap" experience, watching them eat the local street food, visit grocery stores, and ride that janky ride reminded me of memories that money can't buy
I lived in Shanghai for 4 years as a child before moving back to the US, so seeing things that reminded me of my childhood was pretty nice for me as well. Going to street markets and watching my dad haggle in Chinese for fake name brand goods are some of my favorite memories looking back now.
Street food is the best! I haven't been to Shanghai yet (I've been to Beijing, Hunan (where I was studying), and Xi'an as a student over the summer in 2014). It was on my bucket list while I was working in Japan, but then COVID hit. T^T One day, I want to go there and in Hong Kong. I miss Chinese street food and Chinese food in general!
Ngl it hit me in the feels seeing Sydney cry about the birthday message, as someone who is never wished happy birthday on their birthday seeing so many people make the effort to make her feel so loved was heart touching.

The end of the $100 dollar's team's day just sitting and enjoying food together just felt so nostalgic to me. While the $10000 teams was definitely nice, the "poor" team just had so many memorable moments together, it reminded me of one of the those days when you and your friends were bored and did dumb stuff and since everyone was broke passed the time by finding all these interesting nooks and crannies and hole in the wall places.
I have to say, I've been on to these sort of rental yachts numerous times(as a maintenance worker) & have seen the ins and outs of its.... fluffy.... on the outside, and on many occasions, survival horror on the inside.

I went to Japan in 2016 when I had a small budget. I spent not including the flight $1200 in 15 days and that includes the air bnb. In 2023 I went back and spared no expenses and spent $4500 in 9 days. My 1st trip was the one I remember best. Having to walk further to save costs and look for a cheaper restaurant made us find a few hole in the wall places. One bar I went to literally had a secret backroom that opened and it was old men with tattoos smoking while women served them. The bartender told us to ignore it. Sone fond memories 😂

The location is most important and looks for something within 5 min walk of a subway entrance.
