We're halfway through the semester! What's your favorite thing you've learned so far?
What 'DEKU' really means. Thank you!
Crunchyroll That I miss Isao Takahata :(
This one so far. Didn't know the frame rate changes depending on the scene.
I'm a total dork for animation. I'm constantly analyzing anytime I watch something animated.
Why we have comments and likes and dislikes in this video and not in the high guardian video?
I'm sure they have close to 100% men on their janitorial staff
Bc they know that shit full of ppl calling out their political bullshit
Victor Gabriel Bejerano Kant that’s what I’m saying
Because Money
Also Karens
Enable the comments on the SPICE video, cowards.
Okay, this is what I was trying to figure out. Right now I’m reading Richard Williams’s The Animator’s Survival Toolkit, and as I animate I kept thinking “okay but why does anime- even sakuga feel different… aaaand I assumed it was because they don’t use squash and stretch as much as westerners AND they most likely animate on two’s a lot… buuuut this kinda cemented that. Either way, thanks.
This video is not entirely correct. Lower frame rate doesn't necessary mean limited animation. For example, The scene where Chihiro is eating in Spirited Away is drawn in 2s or 12 fps, but it is not considered to be limited animation. Lower frame rate isn't used just to save cost, but rather to convey weight and momentum. In fact, a key animator get paid per scene and not per drawing, meaning that reducing the number of drawing doesn't actually save budget for the animation studio.
Limited animation refers only to the reduce in movement or action in order to reduce drawing needed. An example given by the video where character only move their mouth when talking, or when other characters don't move at all when they are not talking are what called limited animation as they only need one drawing and three different mouth shape to occupy a few seconds of run time.
Cutting down on "cost" does not just mean saving budget, it can also mean saving time.
The best example of this that I know of is in Millennium Actress. In the scene where the interviewer throws the bag at the cameraman's face, Satoshi Kon only used six frames, to make it appear to happen faster and more suddenly than could have been done in live action.
Trigger's style 🙏🙏🙏
GOOD TO KNOW
Gotta love these anime academy segment. Also for limited animation, I'd go with Erased and possibly kill LA kill
*segments, but it's a series.
@@amberalvia1101 you get my point troll . And why you replying on a 4 year old post lol
Suddenly the reason attack on titan looked blocky on my gaming phone
Very educational once again, love these segments. Thank a lot, I'm learning quite a bit from this :')!
Coming back and realizing crunchyroll already gave us My Dress up Darling years ago
I think I can grow a lot of likes, because controlling the movement of characters of the amount of frames. If having smooth animation with lower frame rates, try adding motion blur or speed lines.
People who think every animation should be 60fps needs to be put in an asylum
Actually I've learned something about TVs but nothing about anime.. 😅
You mean TV programs?
thay don't change the frame rate the frame rate is always 24 frames per seconde
what thay change is the the number of frames so animating on 2s mean drawing a new fame evry 2 frames
Yeah but animating at 2's technically is the same as animating at 1's in a 12fps timeline.
*second *frame
The hell happen with democracy? Let the people speak! Crunchyroll
Reina doing Kami-sama's work by educating the masses regarding the evil that is motion interpolation.
"Golden Boy" is a anime important ❤️
Studio Trigger is the Hanna-Barbera of anime.
Yeah, but not exactly.
@@amberalvia1101 Sorry for the late reply, but what makes you say that?
@@amberalvia1101 Hello?

i really love anime
For some reason, The host mispronounces Osamu Tezuka's name, It's pronounced ''Osamu Tezooka''.
Trigger has my favorite animation. So much charm and fluidity.
Reina😍
I honestly just picked to watch this cuz of the thumbnail
It never occurred to me that Motion Interpolation could interfere with how I watch anime.... That's a good tip!!! Thanks @ReinaScully and @Crunchyroll!!!
There's so much that goes into every show! Glad you enjoyed~
Motion interpolation is a sin and abomination that should be punishable with severe prisontime. It should never be included as a "feature" on viewing devices and those who use it should be ridiculed by the masses and ostracized for attempting to degrade the carefully thought out framerates that the artisans and masters of the craft has chosen.
Sorry... I have this tendency to rant whenever such heresies are mentioned.
Astro boy, Prince planet and Eighth man were the first animes I saw when I was a kid. That was fifty two years ago.
Kid Goku wow do u know anymore anime from back then
Hard to believe honestly
You're going to lose if you keep this up.
I kinda knew most of this but good stuff nonetheless, very informative for those not aware of these basic animation techniques
_Lower Dem Frame Rates_
Taking notes cuz I’m lazy
I prefer limited animation much more than full animation
Full animation is easy, I don't know about full animation, so I prefer full animation.
It's your opinion I respect you that
I See My Self I Clicked
Change the background music to something that doesn't contain a beep not unlike that of a smoke detector.
Por qué tantos dislikes? :0
Motion interpolation is evil!
WOW !!!! I am the first viewer !!!
I'm a simple man. I see Mako, I clicc
Because God forbid an anime whose animation isn't limited.
When is boysonlyclub is coming back
America still does it better
Budget 30times bigger than rest of the world and also better schedule. Next is that USA has larger audience than the rest of the world
I hate limited animation
