I have watched a lot of meca anime and the resent one i watched is darling in the franxx and i love it !!!
tfw crunchyroll doesnt have the rights for eva so no discussion of their designs or even a mention is permitted.
Flugmorph Kinda reminds me of how Gran Turismo had German and Italian exclusive races before they got the rights to feature Porsche and Ferrari
So, When are you going to actually fix your goddamn problems with your website rather then invest into some other show you want to produce? Seriously, Crunchyroll is still running off Flash player...
Have more faith in your shows and what you do , hiding likes/dislikes blocking comments is a sign that you have no faith in high guardian spice. Can you guys make a high guardian spice trailer that tells me what it is? It did not show much of what the show was.
The promotional material for this show was not to present the show itself.

@brushfyr Yep. They want to push their politics here. I already posted it in a different comment that a creator should be judged by own creative output. If they are so inclusive and diverse, where are all the guys in the writing room? I don't even mind gender politics if there is an interesting story to tell about it but this is just dressing it up as a show. Like EA products pretending to be games.
What confirms their attitude:
-disabled likes and dislikes
-disabled comments
-shut down forum thread
-they still highlight comments they like so they do indeed read them

Since you won't let people give their opinion on the actual video itself they are coming to other of your videos to do so.
You do understand that right ? , how about you make an actual video of the actual cartoon, people don't like when you mess with their entertainment.
make another video on the cartoon without that nonsense of diversity, peope want to support new animation studios but you need to help them love it, love the cartoon, not the artist itself, eventualy the renown will come if they deserve it.
They want to push a political angle. On top of everything they patronise their audience thinking anyone needs lecturing on equality. As if people need a show to make them realise women, gay or transgender people can write stories. J.K.Rowling didn't write a good book because she was a woman. She wrote it because she was a good writer. No one cares about Freddy Mercury's or Elton John's sexuality. Their music just kicks ass.

@@voxychan9174 thank you for getting back to me on this. the attention given to the issue of diversity is not one i share with the crunchyroll staff. ones socioeconomic status or sexual demographics should not take precedence over an individuals qualities and talents, this is an act of prejudice. so long as the series is quality i dont have issue with who comprises the staff, but in this case the sex of the staff has been made exclusive rather than inclusive based on prejudice, this even being their selling point of the product. i can't accept it as i can't accept say the front page of an all male tech company touting their staff being 100% male.
many people in post modern western civilization regretably hold onto the socialist ideology of equality of outcome and as time progresses i think many will learn through practice how flawed this approach to inequality is. thank you again for responding to my concerns, i'll keep my eye on crunchyroll and hope for their improvement.

Really enjoyed this one. Mecha anime is one of my favorite genres, with Eureka Seven as my favorite anime of all time. I really like the trails animation from a volley missles/lasers. Super dope effect.

Mitsuo Iso is a legend in this field of animation. His legendary cut on Neon Genesis Evangelion speaks for itself.
I feel like Gurren Lagan should be mentioned when talking about "squashing" mecha.
Or any super robot anime from the 70s, where it really took off because of Mr. Yoshinori Kanada who was a huge influence on Imaishi.

Including machines into animating machines is a step up... but it isn't truly diverse unless you have only machines writing for those animated machines.

I shouldn't have to come here to say that your high on spice show is garbage. Were too scared that people will see the massive amount of dislikes so disable rating. If they look at the comment section, then they'll be convinced that our shit show...is a shit show, so disable comments. Now every other video will have people complaining about it on other videos.

This company seems like a robot animation
The only mechanical animation I've seen is Darling In The Franxx. Although to some extent Digimon Xros Wars even tho it wasn't a mecha anime. They took that mecha aspect and mixed it with digimon
Well technically it is mecha by Japanese standards, since over there they pretty much consider anything that has something mechanical (like a watch for example) mecha.
The same thing applies to anime, if you go to Japan and ask them if Spongebob is anime they will say yes.
For them, anything animated is anime.

The fact that people are getting *this* upset about a show written by women really reveals, better than anything the creators (not Crunchyroll, note) could have said about it in the trailer, how big a problem misogynism is in the anime fandom... How many animes have been written and created by an entirely male team? Who was upset then? But one trailer for one show dares to say it was written by all women and this happens.
Honestly so dissapointed in people right now. And while I don't agree with Crunchyroll's decision to turn off comments, and I'm also peeved that they use Flash in 2018, the sheer vitriol that that trailer has unearthed is indicative of a much deeper rooted and insidious mindset.
You wanna fight me about it? Come at me. Nothing is gonna make me feel worse than the feeling of shame and dismay I got from reading through some of these comments. Some of you need to reevaluate why this is upsetting you so much and what your real issues with this new show are.
