She is completely oblivious to the fact that she too can poor into other people, instead of waiting to be poored into. You want everyone to give to you, yet you cannot give to anyone. If she’s under their roof, she lives by their rules. Period. Then to basically say “I don’t want a therapist to help, I want my family to help”. Girl! I disagree. Karamo needed more time. Glad he’s offering therapy. The older sister seems co-dependent in some ways, writing her sisters appeal AND application to the community college. Instead of re-focusing on her secondary education, it seems like she needed to take a break from academics and focus on her mental health and trauma issues OR anxiety that was paralyzing her. The weed WAS/IS a problem with motivation-but it seems like her anxiety is interfering with her ability to perform academically at this time. Yes, she probably needs to contribute to her own living situation such as room/board at home while she “walks in her own steps”. She needs to try to move forward semi-independently. But if she can’t follow the household rules, then she needs to live elsewhere. There is a LOT of fear here. Mom is afraid for her daughter, older sister in pink is afraid for her sister and trying to help her in ways she thinks is best but it may not be what sister in blue wants nor is ready for. Where is the dad?

Thinking she did the best she can while also juggling her own issues. The mother wasn’t understood much either. I feel as though Ariel needs to seek help in healing her trauma within. Her family seems very supportive but they’re just tired of the constant badgering & disrespect. I’m Jamaican myself & compared to the culture of terrible communication within in our community, the mother did an amazing job.

She said she was sexually assaulted. Can you imagine your family literally giving you pamphlet for therapy and telling you to talk to someone about what happened when all you really want is your family. It's like pushing her away. What happened to her was too much for you to handle. I mean I get it 1000%. I had a miscarriage in 2016 nobody in my family had ever had one not any of my sisters cousins aunts or my mom. I was 4 months and let me tell you they came to visit me once. I lost my damn mind nobody was there for me. They wanted me to talk to someone and all I needed was my family. My mom my sister's but that never happened. I was so guarded after that I felt abandoned I felt like I didn't matter to them. Like what happened to me was just normal. That hurt like hell. I spiraled after that I was so angry and I started smoking heavily just to stay calm. For 3 years I was mentally messed up from that miscarriage it was my first time ever being pregnant and I couldn't understand what went wrong. Sometimes words are not needed a solution isn't needed most times it's just a hug and embrace just knowing that you're there is healing enough. This girl is hurt and it has turned into anger. Weed affects the front part of the brain and affects your ability to make sensibly decisions over time. Both my father and brother did it so I know what I'm talking about. A weed smoking family member is very difficult to deal with, especially when you know they have potential and they're not using it. You love them to death. But you know there's an invisible barrier that you're unable to break through to get to them. They take your love as opportunities to do wrong and it frustrates you and when you express yourself, they act like this. It's a never ending cycle. She needs serious help. Karamo failed this family. But then again he's just a man with a show. She needs repentence and a reset through Jesus Christ. And even after that, some good therapy because the effects of ganja has ruined and will conintue to ruin her life.

It looks like they tried with her and nothing they could say or do would satisfy her. Her being a victim of sexual assault is horrible, but to lash out at her family when they still tried to help her is ridiculous. She says go left, so they go left, then she gets mad because they didn’t go far enough left….she says jump, so they jump & she gets mad because they didn’t jump high enough. She needs to take accountability and seek help.

Karamo for these types of messy family situations you need to bring them out separately and have a one-on-one with each. Then bring them out all at once. This was too much chaos, and I don't think think they got to the real core issues that were affecting. Also you need to be better at calling women out on their bs. I notice your more firm when it comes to holding men accountable for questionable decisions and behavior and chose to empathize with women. I would not have put up with half that young ladies crap if I were her parent.

I agree. Karamo needs to work on that. As gay black men we love us some black women. We have great friendships with black women. But Karamo needs to separate from that and remain professional by holding these women accountable. As much as I can keke with black women I can hold them accountable just the same.

As a Jamaican who grew up around weed smokers it’s appalling how Americans downplay the effects of weed. Most people in Jamaican who smoke weed everyday experience drug induce psychosis. My brother was hospitalized almost every week during his 20s because of weed and it’s nothing else because poor people in Jamaica do not have access to what Americans call "hard drugs".

Here’s the thing, weed does cause mood swings but it only brings out the emotions that were ALREADY THERE! My brother smokes and he tells me it only amplifies your inner emotion.
Holding her accountable is why she’s angry because everyone is trying to tell her what she did wrong which she already knows. People like her just need some to actually listen to what they have to say.
I deal with this all the time. A lot of people want others to be held accountable when they can’t even hold themselves accountable. I have no problem with admitting my faults, but what I’m not going to allow is someone to beat down on me as if I’m the only one with the problem.
An understanding and GOOD COMMUNICATION is what’s needed in this situation, not someone to judge, blame or point the finger at. 🤷🏽‍♀️

She has such a loving and supportive family that loves her. They hate to see how she is destroying her life.
I do think Ariel lash out because she’s upset with her life. She mentioned how she destroyed her college due to chasing a guy and she’s probably upset with her failures and expects her family to take care of her and accept her failures. She needs to take accountability and fix her mistakes and love her family before she chase them away. She is beyond lucky to have them.

I truly believe Karamo failed this episode. He never held her accountable & she never took any accountability for her own actions. Instead, she blamed everyone else. So what you were accepted to 13 colleges, you couldn't make it through one college. Yes things happen but is not your family fault, Why didn’t you open up to them if you were hurting about some man? Additionally, her older sister, who looks only about a year or so older, should NOT be blamed for her downfalls. Finally, the weed definitely played & plays a role in her behavior today.

SHEEEEESH!!!!!!! Weed cannot be taken out the conversation because that mixed with her past trauma is what is causing the outburst from Arielle. The fact that she take no accountability is what gives me pause. It seems to me the family is willing to work with her and help her even though they may have been limited in knowing how but I never heard her apologize for how and what she has caused the family. They are not the reason for her being sexually assaulted. She even said that her family raised her right so why then when something so tragic happened did she lash out on them like they did it? Also, I know what marijuana does to people and like her mom said some of this stuff out here is dangerous. I'm sorry Karamo but the way you got on the sister was wrong because she really tried to help her the best way that she knew how. Was it perfect? Maybe not but I truly believe that she had her sister's back no matter what. Arielle needs deep counseling and maybe the family can also do it with her so they can better understand what's going on with her.🙏

Actually yes I have violated in my young adulthood. I’m in my forties now and I made a choice to heal and live. I too was so young and immature that I remember saying something so absolutely ridiculous about the sexual assault that happened to me. I also didn’t have the support she had none. Which lead me onto a life of drug abuse from 17-19. Just like her I didn’t have the sense enough to seek help when I was violated. Oh well water under the bridge for me. I never got what I needed from my family. Through prayer, faith and love over years I healed and God restore my strength and no longer did those conviction of those small issues in my past blocked anything in my present. This beautiful hurt lady needs to seek professional help separately and then possibly family counselling together.
I think if she can do her part and put in the work, it may be easier for her mend any type of relationship that she wants with her mum and sister.
Both her mother and sister clearly acknowledge her hurt and pain however as human beings it can be quite difficult at times to love someone who is not likeable and so disrespectful.
Hopefully if they can get some counselling this will be a great start of mending the relationship I think ultimately, they all want.
I wish them the best 🙏🏾.
