Peter, I've said this before, you and your family are the class act of the auto industry/hobby. Thank you for including us in this awesome purchase... God bless, Mr. Klutt 😊
Peter love your podcasts on all your cars, especially with your son, father and son with the same love and interest in cars, this GT 40 and the 62 to 66 Ferrari GTOs are some of my favourite cars of my teen years, thanks for your shows and be safe.😎🇨🇦
I’ve been following you, Gary and your restorations on Tv and RUclips for years. You have a first class operation and you have top notch cars in your inventory that worth every penny you are selling them for !
thank you for sharing this experience, i feel when nowadays we see so many high priced machines the feeling of a great car gets lost, not so with this video, that great car energy is there, again, thank you
Congrats on the purchase. We'll deserved and going to be well preserved. One of the most iconic cars in history. It's design is still exotic. A timeless thing of beauty.
I've got a set of the FORD press docs for the GT40 MK1 and MK2... it was in with a ton of old SCCA and Porsche docs from the 60's I acquired from the widow of an old SCCA racer.

Very very few or these cars were ever built. After learning about the whole history of the GT40 and the four wins at Le Mans. Would be such a honor to own such a car.
I'm probably not going to get a reply on my request but I'll ask anyway. Do you foresee airing another Legendary Motorcar show on TV again? If so when? I always enjoyed your shows tremendously, as I did on this edition on the GT40. Thank you and your son for showing this car as well.
I saw one of these going towards Palos Verdes in California. He actually turned off the engine at a stop light so we could talk. I had no idea how valuable they were.
My Dad worked for Shelby in the 60’s and was the care taker of 1058 for about a year. Kept it in the garage of our row home in Philadelphia. He would take my brother and I for rides after dinner on Rt309 outside of Philadelphia. My brother and I squeezed into the passenger seat, me with my plastic Johnny Lightning helmet strapped tight. The Speedo was right in front of us…we would cheer when he got it up to 100. He told us not to tell Mom but I could not keep a secret. Dad told Mom it was kilometers and we were only doing 67 mph. Mom never bothered to check. Great memories of that car. By the way, Dad could have bought the car for $12,500. The row home was $11,500…lol
That should be a 6 million plus car. Private sales are all over price wise. But I'd hang on to that one. Harley is a great wheel man too..I know you wanted to offer him 2.8 ish.. 🤭 wires look great.. Gary needs to drive it too..
Peter, I grew up watching your show❤ do you have any books or videos on the ins and outs of the business for someone that would like to follow your foot steps? Do I need a car like this 😂
My initial thought was to keep anything from inadvertently falling down into the carbs, while still letting air get in. Made from lexan so you can still see the beauties.
As soon as he got on it I was ok who do I pay! That thing sounds so damn good! Well I just heard the price it's a bit high then I would want to pay but 2.5 who be about right unless you just had to have it and then 3 mill it is! Kinda hard to get them off that price I understand that's what I would price it at!
That street GT40 seems to be MUCH more Spicy than the road spec. one Matt from CarWow drove, that is in the Peterson Magazine guru's collection. That one Matt drag raced against the '05 and the '17. I thought all the street GT40's only had the 306hp Shelby Mustang spec. single Holley carb engine. Do you why this one's got the Weber's ?!
being bugging a guy for decades on his Boss 9 that just sits in a building and looked like new. has the tank even drained . turns out someone offshore heard of it too and a bag of money stole it away
A used car dealer transaction at an entirely different level. 😀 Is Peter keeping it? If not, I just hope it is (or was) eventually purchased by someone who will not be afraid to use it as it was intended vs. putting into a museum. And if you take it to your local cars and coffee once in a while, kudos!
Hi Peter , don't have the money 4 an original or new 2005/6 version. Or the new Mk 1. However if money 💰 wasn't an object l would go with the Mk1 from a Queensland Australian Company. And a 2005/6 money 💰 available. Not a fan of the newer versions personally. ❤ 'ed Ur TV Show . 📺 Robert Australia 🇦🇺.

I believe they were right hand drive because the 40 was based on the a Lola race car and originally designed and built by Ford UK.
True.
