I love this power supply, got it in a BUNDLE with the Spaceship 40 from HB (yes really) I didn’t know you could put it in a different spot than the back, knowing this my board is going to be sooo much cleaner! Great vid man! EDIT: THE HARLEY BENTON SPACESHIP 40 IS JUST DIFFERENT WITH DIMENSIONS! BUY THE PALMER! I put the power supply in the 2nd spot and now the last bar wouldnt fit I had like half a centimeter of space left. so I had to drill a little hole so the feet would still go in, it’s a tiny bit wonky but it works now, should’ve bought the Palmer.
The power version of HB spaceship has the power supply truly in the power bar, with AC 100-240V universal input to the bar. Feels bit misleading that all these videos never mention that Palmer power bar requires external 12VDC power supply. HB seemed to steal the idea and improve it a bit.
I was desperate for a new pedalboard, and after seeing the video I found a shop in Barcelona that sells Palmer boards. It looks great with my Orange Stamp, Harley Benton Custom Overdive, EHX Rams Head Reissue, MXR Chorus, Lovepedal Echo and Holy Grail reverb. They didn't have the power supply but I used my Trex Junior and it worked perfectly with the space under the board with the elastics. Thank you so much
I have been running the 8000 Batpack at gigs with 4 pedals including a Shure Wireless and a Boss Ps6 for about 2 years. Zero issues and lasts forever. 2 gigs and 2 rehearsals and still going. Plus you can charge and play. Palmer customer service is great as well!
Thanks again Henning. Love all your videos, at the end of the day your a badass guitarist, gear freak and I can always rely on the demos and info you give. appreciated greatly, One day I will fly across the pond and come see you. It will happin !!
Looks value for money. Was looking for a slim profile power supply for my mini board and the smaller one looks ideal for that. Also very intrigued by that power conditioner. In India where power is not always constant in most smaller cities, this would be a god send.
Every single finger crossed they're working on the bigger version for 60 and 80cm versions. Stacking two 40s is nice but then again... How would you manage to get that many pedals on a 40 board (ok, all of them mini pedals maybe). Thanks for the great demo. Really like the way you're reviewing gear. Honest, professional and entertaining (y)
Last year I built a board using the Palmer pedalbay (a bigger one) and the big ass 12 outs power supply. The power supply offers more power than Voodoo Labs version and it's half the price!! I also use a DC purifier for my tube preamp pedal. I love that board! I built it with a preamp pedal, a cab sim pedal and I also have TC's Mimiq so I don't need any amp. Straight into the mixer and it takes me literally 30 seconds to get ready or to get off the stage (I tested it).
I have the Pedalbay 80 and was using it with with the PWT08 for about a year or so. At the beginning I had some power hungry digital pedals on it (mainly Digitech multi pedals). Also added a Two-Notes Le Bass and the powersupply seemed to handle these fine. However I did notice the dreaded digital whine, that's when I swapped the PWT08 to another brand supply which has all isolated outputs whiched solved all the problems. Also, two ports have their status leds stuck on red now while I never exceeded the specified mA ratings, so for me the power supply didn't seem so fine. Another tip for Palmer Pedalbay users: since Palmer does not make a hard case for these pedalboards I ended up ordering a Spaceship 80 just for the hard case which is much cheaper than having a case made for this size of pedalboard.
@@RomanDufek it doesn't seem too rugged, but it gets the job done if you don't store heavy things on it. I used it on quite a few gigs and locks, hinges, handle are still holding up perfectly. It's also worth to mention that if this size of board is packed with pedals, carrying the case will make your arm longer by the time you're done. :D It could use some wheels is what I'm saying.
Very nice and thoughtful power supply and nice pricing for it and the pedalboard, too! But, one thing about cascading two power supplies: the transformer is rated to 2.000 mA, so if you connect two rails to the same transformer the power is divided to each one. You'll have twice the outputs with half the power for each one.
I got the pedal board earlier this year, though without the WT PB 40 power supply, so I'm managing with Warwick's Power Block (meaning it's hanging underneath the boar, held by straps). So far it's doing a nice job with six pedals.
I can't seem to fit the 2 small legs (11:34) cause the Palmer adapter is a little wider than the harley benton bars. If I fit 1 leg the other won't fit and there's a little space between the last horizontal bar and the vertical one from one side. Could it be a manufacturing problem?
01:37 - don’t get it... Isolation is something needed to get rid of AC hum. 🦇Pack is pure DC power, so what isolation are we talking about here? 🙄 Btw, Palmer have some great ‘secret’ knowledge to silence. My FAT50 amp is the quietest all-tube thing I’ve ever dealt with. I always tend to forget it’s on and running already, till I pick the strings (and that’s ch2 high mode) - definitely not the way I got used to handling tube amps in the past, always waiting for that definite tube ‘life’ character from my cab
I assume you mean avoiding ground loops. Well, Palmer claims the outputs being isolated, so that’s not an issue. You wouldn’t daisy chain an isolated output of a regular power supply, would you?
Why don't you show how to power the power bar? The 12VDC in connection. So there needs to be external 12 VDC power supply to feed the power bar hanging on cable? The orange connector does not look very secure, so can you mount this external power supply under the board for "permanent" connection?
@@EytschPi42 Apologize for the rant - you're right - the manual is lame Warning! This device is designed for use below 2000 metres in altitude. Warning! This product is not intended for use in tropical climates. Good thing gigs are all in caves in the Arctic
@@EytschPi42 Wow.... even the bags look the same. I've always thought they were just re-badged Palmers and they were just getting a lot of discount for buying them in bulk.
Isn't palmer the same as harley benton (german) -- which both of them came from chinese manufacturer Vitoos. Funny that PB40 is the same as Harley benton 40 spaceship.
If you install a second supply under the board and link it from the first you still have 2A total power. You would double the number of outputs, but the available power on each would be cut to half. If you want to get full power on all the outputs you would have to use a separate power supply for both, total 4A. Still a good solution though :)
In a normal situation it won't be a problem, but if you have a lot of power hungry pedals you should be aware that you can't run all the outputs at full capacity either. If you add up the total amps on all 8 outputs you get 2800mA. Total capacity on the power supply is only 2000mA.
Is it possible to install it on the last row, but with the outlets turned to the inside of the pedalboard? Keep up your great work. Love your videos! Cheers!

Good product good price great video
I did my own handmade pedalboard, made of wood, super clean and the exact size for my pedals so...The best!
Where do you find bags/cases that those boards fit in?
Fixed up my pedal board watching this video. You made me laugh so much. Brilliant, thank you.
A board with power and a nice for keeping a cleaner floor area so less trip hazards when ya gotta run to the door real quick.

pretty much everything from palmer is top notch quality for a great price.
that 500ma integrated ISO power supply /RAIL is a pretty cool innovation + no Hum & no hiss on several combined digitals + affordable, wow!!!...
I am using the Palmer PWT 12 MK2. It's quite affordable and does the job: humfree board with 10 pedals. Some run on 18V.
Ordered mine today. Great video!

Related to the idea of 'inspired' brands. Was wondering in Pakistan we get nux pedals. Are these the same as joyo or is it different entirely
nux is not related to joyo
Curious... Is HB ripping off Palmer, or are they just buying a repackaging a design from the same supplier?
Henning ignoring the manual for installation instructions.... priceless
the manual doesn't give you a lot of information... it definitely needs to be improved!

No, apparently Thomann copied those boards.
