Awesome info thanks! I had to slip a thin piece of cardboard between old filter and fan to prevent nasty debris from falling into fan. Definitely want to avoid that if you can. Cut the new filter box to do it, perfect thickness.
I wish I thought of that when getting mine out, had to pull out the blower motor because of leaves, and unbolting and bolting back the heater shield took the most time with those nearly impossible-to-reach bolts on the back 😭
Hi there. This video was well done, it made it look easy. Actually, I changed my filter, but can you tell me which way the airflow arrow should go? The last filter did not have an arrow, so I am unsure of the airflow direction. This is on a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado LT. Thanks so much.
What TF?? Lol. This may sound ignorant but I didn't even know there was a cabin air filter to change out. It's a 2016 and I've never replaced it. Added to the list of what I will be doing tomorrow. Thank you.
I had a mouse nest and dead mouse on top of mine. Slid a thin piece of cardboard under neath the filter before pulling it out to keep all the crap from falling further down onto the fan. Everything came out except the mouse, he was hanging there dead in the back of the filter compartment. Got him out with a long flexible grabber. Sprayed Lysol in cowl vents and filter slot while running system in all modes. Now I can drive it without gagging. Small opening on very left end (facing vehicle) of cowl vent where he got in. Have to plug that over and shouldn't happen again.
Thx for this input and warning. I got to tackle mine now and sure this is unfortunatelty what I'll find when I get in there due to what I've been smelling😮
thank you sir. very helpful. the dealership wanted 180.00 dollars to change cabin filter and clean the single cabin. they should be arrested and sent to prison.
Thanks bro very helpful I'm changing mine today. Also ppl need to know to watch for the airflow direction arrow on filter to make sure filter installed correctly
Can anyone explain why the blower motor pushes air up into the vents, but everyone says the air flow arrow should point downward? Doesn't air flow upward in this case, and the arrow should be pointing up also?
I think mine charges 40-60. Funny thing is they always take it out to show me how bad it is, and I always tell them no don't replace it. If I say yeas, they charge me for the filter and labor. They did the labor anyway.

Very helpful
Was it making any noise before changing it? Like the leaves inside moving around or something
Bro there's arrows on there for the direction of air flow are you not going to mention that
@@2maull except not all the filters that supposedly fit show the same direction.
Yes. The air flow direction indicator arrow points to the floor board.
