You're cooking is probably phenomenal, because if they come back or ask you "what you're cooking?". In my family my sister and I always did all the holiday cooking. Back in 2095 I made the mistake of telling my co-worker about my Red Velvet cakes, I wound up making so many Red Velvet cakes until I was beat down. Keep in mind that each of those cakes has three layers. I made six of them. Never again. The best thing you can do is to never let anyone know you're good at anything because everyone will ask you to do one for them. Not only cooking but making handmade quilts, blankets and everything else. I live in the south and I learned from my grandmother. That's where I got my learning how to do these things from. Made our own patterns to make the quilts. All we needed was a picture of the top and the rest is history.

Not necessarily. Some Aunts and Uncles never taught their nieces/nephews to call them that. Happened in my family and we have the utmost respect for them and will do anything for them. I know a few people that their mother only taught them to address her by her name. They love her dearly and show utmost respect as well. It depends on what the person wants to be called. I don't believe this young lady. First, Aretha was gorgeous when she was young and slim. This young girl did not inherit Aretha's beauty or her class. Further, she's all loud and ghetto fabulous. I have seen Aretha prepare food on television. Aretha could throw down in that kitchen. In fact, I believe eating all that rich homemade food is what helped to lead to her demise. I think this young lady just wants some publicity. She needs to stop disparaging our Queen and work on getting herself in line. Incidentally, I am a seasoned cook who loves to have big formal dinner parties. I had to learn to hide some of my numerous dishes from my guests. Aretha's niece is real cool, and down to earth, just like Arerha was. I visited Detroit some years ago, and it was a really cool place, and was surprised that I seem to fit right in. The T-shirts Crystal is selling with Detroit's hotspots should be a big seller, and esp. the pink one with our pretty young queen on it. I'll be looking under CFRANK, to check them out. I know Patti prides herself on being able to cook and people have bought into that, but I have seen a few of her cooking segments and she does NOT look like someone who is particularly skilled or talented in the kitchen by the way she prepares what she is making and the process overall. There are MANY people who claim to be great cooks but often that is the title they have bestowed on themselves rather than a reputation they have legitimately garnered from others!

Not necessarily. Some Aunts and Uncles never taught their nieces/nephews to call them that. Happened in my family and we have the utmost respect for them and will do anything for them. I know a few people that their mother only taught them to address her by her name. They love her dearly and show utmost respect as well. It depends on what the person wants to be called. I don't believe this young lady. First, Aretha was gorgeous when she was young and slim. This young girl did not inherit Aretha's beauty or her class. Further, she's all loud and ghetto fabulous. I have seen Aretha prepare food on television. Aretha could throw down in that kitchen. In fact, I believe eating all that rich homemade food is what helped to lead to her demise. I think this young lady just wants some publicity. She needs to stop disparaging our Queen and work on getting herself in line. Incidentally, I am a seasoned cook who loves to have big formal dinner parties. I had to learn to hide some of my numerous dishes from my guests. Otherwise, they eat most of the food and ask to take the leftovers home. I have friends from all 4 corners of the globe who behave in said fashion, some of whom have paid chefs in their homes. I know Patti prides herself on being able to cook and people have bought into that, but I have seen a few of her cooking segments and she does NOT look like someone who is particularly skilled or talented in the kitchen by the way she prepares what she is making and the process overall. There are MANY people who claim to be great cooks but often that is the title they have bestowed on themselves rather than a reputation they have legitimately garnered from others!

I read that her life wasn’t easy, so she created an ideal image as a way to cope with her pain and disappointments. She was hard on herself and probably felt like she had to be good at everything she did... We all know someone like that.
