    I bought my 2021 road king special today. I went to this from a 2016 fatbob. I absolutely love my road king, and especially the 114 engine

      How does manoeuvrability compare to the FatBob, please?

    • @My.name.goes.here.
      @My.name.goes.here. 3 года назад +2

      @@LukeTPZ honestly I feel like the road king is superior in every aspect. The turn in when you lean is better, it’s more stable at every speed from slow stuff all the way to doing 90+ mph down the interstate. The fatbob at those speeds would blow all over the lane, the road king doesn’t move not even next to a semi. The road king in my opinion feels faster than the fatbob even though it’s roughly 200 pounds heavier. The road king special is about 805 pounds or so but it wears the weight very well. I think I hit on your question of handling but if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Sorry, trying not to ramble. lol

      @LukeTPZ 3 года назад

      @@My.name.goes.here. That’s really helpful, thank you. I’ve considered the FatBob, but seem to have it down to two models that overlap similar riding territory, but from different start points - the Sport Glide or the RKS. There’s the Springfield Darkhorse, but after spending today on my dad’s Scout, I can’t say I’m overly impressed (not that it’s a bad bike).

    • @My.name.goes.here.
      @My.name.goes.here. 3 года назад

      @@LukeTPZ if you’re looking at new bikes the new fatbob is an entirely different bike from the older fatbob. 2018 or 2019 is when it changed. The new one is much much better but definitely a different style

    Hi ! Thanks for a great review of this and other bikes. Great channel with great content !
    I am getting back on a Harley after many years of other brands. But I can’t decide between the Heritage Classic and the Road King Special.
    I have ridden the Heritage Classic and really liked it. Found it comfortable, easy to ride and a good package. I have not ridden the Road King Special because the dealer didn’t have as a demo bike. But love the look !
    How would you compare the two ?
    Would love some help and input from you guys.
    I am looking for a do it all Harley. A bike that is fun on the backroads, highway comfort, that can work for two up riding (but it’s not the primary use), saddlebags and cruise control. Both bikes have all these things.
    Which one should I go for ?
    Thanks a bunch! Keep up the great work !

      Welcome back and thanks for the kind words!
      Like you said, both are capable of what it sounds like what you're looking for.
      I personally lean towards the RK specifically the RK Special. Mostly because of the bigger frame which lends it's self to more comfort on the highway and slightly more room when doing 2up. Also I just personally like the look a little more.
      I'd find a dealership that has a RK you can ride though. Neither of the dealerships I worked at had "demo" models. If you were interested in a bike, I let you ride THAT bike. Not trying to cause your local dealership to loose out on a sale. Just saying I'd find one who let me ride even if that means you ensuring the one you already went to that you are an actual buyer and not just joy riding.

      The only thing that makes me shy away form the Road King Special is the added weight. Don’t know if that makes a significant difference in handling but I got along with the Heritage just fine on the demo ride.
      Did you notice any difference in everyday handling of the bikes ?
      Thanks again for taking the time ! 😎👍

      @@nickyd2913 I can chime in... I own a 2020 Heritage 114, and have ridden the Road King Special and the Heritage back to back. The Heritage is quicker being a little lighter, and seems to "dive into corners" a little harder. It's a little more nimble feeling, especially if you are weaving back and forth (avoiding potholes for example). The Heritage is a little more roomy feeling when riding solo, but the King is a little more roomy for two up. The King feels a little more planted at highway speeds. The Heritage feels a little more stable over mid corner bumps. They are both FANTASTIC bikes... And I would say in a nutshell that the Heritage is a little more "sporty" feeling while the Road King is a little more "cushy". Both very close though. One other thing... Seems like there's a bigger aftermarket for the touring models if you're into customizing. I love them both, and keep wanting to go pick up a RKS anyway 🤣

    Actually the RKS was offered in a very limited fourth color called Black Jack Metallic! I know this because I got one! Also the mustache guard has been around for a while and HD still hasn't made lowers for it. I think this is because if a person wants lowers then they would have to swap back to the standard engine guard before adding the lowers. The RKS is a stripped down, lean mean King of the Road bike. The 114 is awesome!!!

    • @throttleblip9854

      @Delzona 3 года назад

      @@throttleblip9854 Yes, that's it exactly! From what I've found out the color is an overseas color not meant for the US market and due to scheduling and delivery issues, HD decided produce a limited number of RKS bikes with this color in order to get the bikes out to dealerships on time. I don't know how true this story is or how many dealerships actually got a bike in this color, but if they did it was only one bike.

A few things I would add to the RK Standard would be a Stage II Torque Cam, Khrome Werks exhaust, Tuner, Auto Tuner, LED Lighting all around. When you said lowers I would think if you want a stripped down bike like the roadking special lowers are the farthest thing you would want on a rebel type bike same as street glide barebones wear chaps ?☠️

    WTF! “Custom Paint” graphic looks tacky. The bike however is sublime. Always been a fan of the stretched bags too.

    I'm surprised that HD sells any bikes with the 107. The 114 is a true big bore stroker. 114 has a 4.5" stroke and 4.16 bore running 10.5:1 compression. For those of us who watched the custom bike scene in the 90's; an engine like this would have costed thousands of dollars to build. This engine is begging for a cam and a dyno tune. 114" of high compression scream machine out of the box!

    Your LHD roads in America freak me out watching the go pro footage. I cringe on every corner you take a corner. Cheers Joey from Australia.

    I prefer the standard bags as well and as far as the engine guards, they're not welded to the frame and there are other options if one chooses, so people shouldn't complain, but you know what they say.. you can satisfy some of the people some of the time but you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time.

      I just noticed that as well! I recorded it so much later than the other content it wasn’t close to the files when getting things together. Rookie move.

    Ugliest color they have. I didn’t like it on the Mustang and other cars years ago. Other than “custom” paint jobs you don’t see it anymore.
