Hi All. This is my first time using Milwaukee's new Flex Shaft machine call the M18 FUEL™ High Speed Chain Snake & this might in fact be the first actual video of the machine being used in action.
I'd go sectional all day long. FlexShaft is a good addition, but is usually expensive in comparison to its durability. I'm a fan of the Ridgid 5/8" & 7/8" sectional cables & will be running them on the channel in a way unique to the USA. @@ewoody0924

I do residential service and a little light commercial. Having a machine is crucial because the company purchases them which means we share them amongst the shop. I hate having to spend an hour to drive to unclog a sewer.

Cheers Tanner. I just got in to have a shower after getting a little carried away using this on a super heavy rooted drain - got myself covered in splashes etc lol. It's clutch engaged super well & it demolished the roots.
I have recently been getting a lot of calls for clogged sewer lines. All I have is a 50 ft. Harbor freight cable snake. Roots have been the issue for every call so far. I really need a camera, and I’m was. thinking about getting this new Milwaukee. Your video has sold me on it! Milwaukee needs to sponsor you, your video has sold a lot of these for them. I just bought this. However I bought a gator drain tool for half the money. There both great tools. I use a Spartan model 2001,100,81. And the flex shaft. Milwaukee and gator. These chains are a game changer
Yip, its a beast & really nice to have the foot pedal & speed controller. Unfortunately the Rep needed it back so I have to wait for them to go on sale here in June I think.
The stairs and the slope are spine-tingling. Flex shaft is also great. I was looking for it and it is not available in the Czech Republic. Great job master!
For sure, those stairs are extremely steep, probably 35 - 45 degrees in spots. The machine will be released around June I have been told, so hopefully it will come available in Czech Republic.
all toilets should have a clean out incorporated so us service guys don't have to pull them in order to snake (unless something were to get lodged in trap)
Wouldn't that be neat, but unfortunately plumbing fixtures are just getting tighter & tighter these days with less flow to save water & this is causing some headaches for some jobs.
I've got a CS10 monitor that I use with the SeeSnake and the Mini SeeSnake. We have a utility authority near us that recommends me for inspections just because the monitor is so good. It's an older model (I don't know if they even sell them any longer) but it still works great. Bigger screen than the 6 and, in my opinion, a better picture than the 12. I sometimes think about getting a 6 for when we are working in a cramped space but so far I've been able to avoid the temptation to spend more money on monitors.
You are surely the first. Awaiting your review on the good and bad between the two before I grab one. Looks a bit to bulky to cart around and will it fit in the bathroom. 😁
Its a bit bigger than a Ridgid K9-204, but not by too much, but the power, speed controller, clutch & foot pedal so far has made it oh so good to use. Hopefully after I go through the footage, I will have another video to upload in a few days once people have viewed this one.
this appears to be made for interior drains. perhaps they will release a main line machine with extended length and larger chain knocker. In my area most residential homes are 4" leaving the house but increase to 6" immediately outside the house. Older homes have clay sewer and roots often penetrate at every joint.
Its got a lot of power & I've used it 4 inch mainline drains with heavy roots & light blockages on 6 inch lines, but unfortunately its is only 75 feet long - probably a weight thing as well as trying to push out a 8mm Flex Shaft cable. I would have loved for it to be 90-100 feet & wouldn't have minded the extra weight.
@@2807204 I used it twice today, first job appeared to be a 2' (50mm) blocked commercial kitchen waste-pipe, but when I was using the Milwaukee I found it didn't like a bend or something in the wall so pulled back the pipe cover flange to see someone had reduced the pipework in the wall to 40mm (about 1-1/2") & there was no way this machine will navigate our 40mm 90's but I don't mind as just switched to my Milwaukee Drill Snake to clear it. I actually prefer the stiffness of the Milwaukee cover over the Ridgid K9-204 as I think it will push further, but do note the cover these machines actually ship with is supposed to be grey, the one I'm using is black, so who knows if the grey cover has a different flexibility or if it's the same? I will check the footage on the second job where is destroyed the roots & upload it if its useful.

8mm cable. I would have liked it to be 90 feet especially for the price. It ran well, buy I only had it on loan for several jobs so did not get to test it on wipes. It weighs about 28kg.

That was a Saturday call out. I charge less than most guys in my area & this was for a plumber so the plumber gets a discount for providing me with work. In this case the bill will be a around $350 - $400 as after-hours jobs are charged Depot to Depot (time I start traveling to job, time onsite & travel back home). I have a couple of plumbers that would add 15 - 25% on top of my bill for managing the job, but some will charge more. These kind of tools, camera's drain machines do cost a bit so you have to be using them daily to justify buying them. Are you in the trade or looking to do something new?

The cutter are pretty aggressive. I'll try using the none carbide chains next time & I should look into relining, but it about how much work I can get through.
How does cable compare to the rigid machine.I broke my Rigid machines after a year.Brass cables are nice and flexible but they usually have issues kicking on tough roots.I find the best cable size is 1/2" steel cable.Its thicker and can handle tough clogs.I also own a picote mini Miller and a custom eys unit that I had to modify.I have several lose cables that I stopped using.Having lose cables with a drill is a pain in the rear.
Did you get a chance to see the spur of the moment video #118 I did on it attacking roots, wipes & white mice? So far I've run it through traps, floor drains & yesterday 18-20m up a 50mm kitchen pipe from the outlet back to the kitchen which connects in on a 40mm line. The long term question will be cable durability, but so far without looking inside, the cable appears good. The clutch engaged several times to protect the cable on that heavy root video so I am impressed. They market it as 1-1/4" to 4" but I could not feed it through our 40mm bends, but this could be because I had a 50mm chain on at the time, but I expect to pick up the actual Milwaukee chains set this weekend & test the machine with the appropriate chains. The cable cover feels stiffer than the K9-204 which makes it easier to push I did that 50mm kitchen pipe no problems with it. So far this machine outguns the K9-204 by a country mile, but obviously does cost more, however you may gain this back in not having to replace the cable as much as some guys have had to do with the K9 series.
Is that posible to attach 75 plus cable, what kind of camera you have? I want to get the Milwaukee camera and this shaft and actually show to the customer is getting clear the pipe, how much you charged? I have so many questions? If you don’t mind to share, thanks great video
It's the way of the world these days Dee. In the old days everything was over engineered (which was great) as there were no, or few computers to simulate how thick or thin material should be & all the other factors. I am hoping this one holds up well as it has performed really really well the last few days.

Its a loaner so not sure how long Milwaukee will let me hang on to it, but fingers crossed I get to use it several times.

Picote machines are the GOAT, my time using the sales reps machine was limited, so hopefully the Milwaukee turns out to be a solid machine.

Hi! Seeing roots inside the pipe, does it mean the roots penetrated the pipe that could lead to leak?
I use the CS6X Versa monitor with my sea snake as well! It’s the fanciest monitor I’ve ever used!
I've got a CS10 monitor that I use with the SeeSnake and the Mini SeeSnake. We have a utility authority near us that recommends me for inspections just because the monitor is so good. You should have seen it today on a compacted soft root mass as thick as a forearm or wrist - it destroyed them.

Great avenues are water leak detection & service(s) location. That's something I'm looking into soon.

With Flex Shaft you can attach cable to cable, I'm just not sure how much you could successfully attach to this machine as its 8mm cable.
Great , we just got it , will use it tomorrow . Any tips on how to start with the speed settings on 2 inch waste ?
On a 2" pipe, start at setting of 3-4 & I hope you enjoy using it as much as I did.
Do you oil it after every use? Is it recommended?

Go Pro 7. It has died, hence no more videos so far. I hope to get another camera soon, but the economy is tight.
The convenience of battery power with a drain cleaner that won't rip your hand off ok 👌 nice

It was a loan machine, & worked well, but it is too expensive for me unfortunately.
