I began with the oldest video, working my way to the newest and so far my only question is....just how many vehicles do you own? lol .... love your channel
Haha yes, I've had a few vehicles over the years. I was going through a change over of vehicles as my trust ol' van rusted out in a few spots & I can't afford anything new.
I'm still happy that you are active again ... ☺️ Apart from these PVC repairs which look strange and a bit of roots , the 30 meters don't look so bad. Didn't you say you wanted to get knee pads? 😉
You are always looking out for my poor old knees. Most of the drain is good & with regular cleaning it should last a long while. How things over in Berlin?
@@mrdrains2088 Well I could write that I got new dungarees with knee pads, but I also think that nobody cares about that. Otherwise it is relatively quiet, no flooding from rain so far ... I cable and upsell a flex-shaft currently as no room on the trucks for a jetter, I do not want to add a jetter only truck, and my neighborhood does not allow trailers. Curious though I pass a lot of jetter jobs to a friend and most of the time that jetter destroys any roots. Not sure why a flex-shaft would be needed after that unless prepping for relining.
How does the flex shaft go at bigger build up's of tree roots? I've only been plumbing for a short amount of time and we use a K750 mostly but it's heavy and a pain in the ass..
It's not a bad little machine, but its not designed for heavy roots, although I've had some surprising results on the occasional heavy root mass, but you do seriously risk damaging the cable as you can't use torque, just speed.
This machine is 70', so roughly 21m & you can use FlexShaft all the way as long as you have enough cable & your drill is strong enough to run the cable size you are using. Jetting is usually easier, but the FlexShaft can allow for quick & precise cleaning of root infiltration.

Yeah, its a awesome 40 year old Toyota Hilux that I'm currently using full time. I can't afford a new truck, but I am looking for a backup truck to share the workload & carry more water, especially when the new jetter arrives in a little over a month.

Aussie, New Zealand, UK & several other countries where freezing ground temperatures aren't an issue. These are called gully traps & only take grey water into them & the trap connects with the properties main sewer line. One advantage is it gives access into the main line, access to the incoming waste-pipes from the kitchens, bathrooms etc & it also acts as an emergency overflow should the downstream section of the properties main line get blocked.

What pressure(PSI) you jet the pipes at
Usually between 2500 - 4300 psi.

Is the flex shaft ok in long drain applications? Here the tree roots are not that far down. If its over 20mtrs will jetting be the only option?

I'm confused, isn't that just a little gravity fed feul tank motor like a lawnmower engine? Do you wear the ear muffs when you mow your lawn too?
This is a modified 18hp engine that we use as a back up & will cut through a 4x2" in minutes. However our new jetter will be installed shortly.
