The era of Madness’s more mature song writing. Starting with the albums- ‘Rise & Fall’, ‘Keep Moving’ & ‘Mad not Mad’ then later ‘The Madness’ featured absolutely outstanding songwriting.
Such an amazing song which sadly didn't get played live much (probably not at all since Chas' departure). I'm so glad to have seen them play it at Madstock.
When this one first came out I thought that Suggs had been replaced! but later discovered it was Cathal Smyth, totally loved it! very different from suggs.
The Multi talented David Carrack, always unexpectedly popping up in other bands. I was genuinely surprised seeing him singing lead vocals in the video for Squeeze’s song Tempted By The Fruit Of Another.
his voice wasnt that bad and he should have sang more songs then he did ....madness just isint the same anymore without chas smith in it but thats how it goes
people saying the black women singing weren’t needed but they are staying true to the record it has women on the released version , same as wings of a dove
Okay, when this came out, I wasn't even a pre-schooler, but... I'd like to think that if I had had the chance to be in that audience, I would have been dancing like crazy, no matter what the people around me might have thought. Just sayin'.
Excellent tune! For live, I personally would’ve preferred not having the backing gals contributing, that’s just something more suitable for a studio production.
Not one of there greatest performances, The band were basically fighting to keep their heads above water around this time and as they've said " when mike left they should of called it a day" .
'This other dude' ?!?! Mate, that's the legendary Mr. Chas Smash / Cathal Smyth you're talking about. Is Suggs a better singer, probably yeah/maybe, but Carl ain't no 'other dude', okay?!
@@Greatest1979 very well put freind and the band just isint the same without chas in it use to love him in all there videos this plank doesnt know what hes going on about............... sadly missed hopefull one day hell return
I had the 45 of this song in Jr. High school....... absolutely love it!
I'm happy I've found it. I love this song. Bedders is great on bass and Chas sings beautifully.
the best song as album keep moving
but they don't take it very seriously- i love this song too but...poor..
Bedders Bass on absolutely was great too
Chas is a great singer
Never knew it was Chas who sang this song. Great vocals 👏👏
So much dang talent in that band.

I concur. That run of Madness tunes from “82 to 88” was, in my opinion, the best of their career.
Yes! That ‘82 to ‘88 stretch was their best.
Sensacional!!! Chas es un GENIO, con una fuerza vocal impresionante. El directo del grupo, espectacular!!!
What a bass line !
Marks bass on this is fantastic

Love this so much, great vocals by Chas and so different from other Madness songs.
And all I wanted was a song... to keep at home... bella veramente!

No one mentioned Dick Cuthell on trumpet who regularly with The Specials beside Rico.
This is MADNESS!
Voice like DAVID BOWIE...🙂😊👍
I love it.

his voice wasnt that bad and he should have sang more songs then he did ....madness just isint the same anymore without chas smith in it but thats how it goes
It is Paul Carrack. After Mike left Madness, Paul stepped in for live performances for a while.
Never seen this before Fab
Michael Caine sure was Mad in 'Dressed to Kill'. 😮
temazo
Recontra re Temazo...
Where's the part where they sing" I AM MICHAEL CAINE,,,,(CAIN?)
Is that Paul Carrack on keyboards?

great audience!

Who was the keyboard player replacing Barson at that time?
Excellent tune!
For live, I personally would’ve preferred not having the backing gals contributing, that’s just something more suitable for a studio production.
And Monsieur Barso? Where he is?
He'd left the band by then.
Toilette
What happened to Barso here?
Where was the "Michael Caine" parts? 😂
Bedders Bass playing to full affect
Back then I thought this was a was David Bowie song. It's too clever to've come from Madness.
Those women back in singers are really not needed
Greetings from West Belfast. What that song is about. British touts who masquerade as republicans 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Greetings from North Belfast....uppa Sinn Féin.
oh i was gonna say mike has let himself go
Don't think so.

Should have
We can hardly listen to the guitar....
rough mix ;-)
Paul Carrack is terrible 😯
Suggs is a better vocalist than this other dude

Smash fit better for this song but overall suggs is a better singer
And "that dude" wrote the song btw
Cheeky bastard, Chas Smash is a great vocalist.

Madness is one of my favourite bands ever since I saw them on TOTP in 1979. But this a terrible version.
