"Father gets up late for work Mother has to iron his shirt Then she sends the kids to school Sees them off with a small kiss (Ah, ah, ah, ah) She's the one they're going to miss In lots of ways" As mom absolutely crumples the fuck out of dad's shirt and slaps the shit out of the kids hahaha. Madness really understood how to be on film! I think this might be my favorite pop song of all time.
Jimmy Seville - creepy considering what has come to light regarding him. Love that Madness attempted to recreate the video. Memories: To s middle class white kid from the South, Ska was something unknown and exotic.
Да, безумие не лечится XD Oh, great vid!!! Oooh, I loved the moment when Chas and Suggs are singing together ^_^ And OH! Barso with violin!!! Whooo-hoooo!!!
All of them adorably cute, especially the lead singer. I do have to say, though, THAT SET! Looks like Joanie Taylor's flat. I kept expecting Nan to pop out from one of the doorways and exclaim "Our house? What a load of ol' SHIT! Piss off outtevit with that racket!" LOL
It was written by them, it was released in late 1982 on the album The Rise and Fall which was seen as a concept album and a departure from their earlier stuff. Madness still wrote some great stuff after this but because they tended to write darker and less poppy songs their popularity started to decline Hope this helps
this was their first hit in the states...I loved this song in 83 when It came out here and I was 9...I went back when I got older and discovered the baggy trousers era stuff...one step beyond etc etc ..love it all...I even love their cover of scritti politti's sweetest girl which I believe may have been their last hit because it was 86 although it wasn't a hit over here. the song our house goes beyond their other stuff and enters that rarefied air of greatest songs of the 80s...come on Eileen, perfect way by scritti etc....I love rock and all the usual suspect rock and metal bands, but I'm a sucker for an amazing pop song that elicits a sense of nostalgia....when I heard our house as a kid it reminded me of my house and now it brings me right back to being a kid listening to it on mtv ....the opening is an amazing piece of music...certain intros (California girls by the beach boys, where the streets have no name by u2 for instance) are the best part of the actual song.
Lets ignore the guy at the beginning and just appreciate this classic for what it is... Pure gold!
🤣🤣👍
Yes, same as everyone else at BBC did back then.
CZYŚCIUTKIE złoto, najwyższej próby...✨
Exactly!
The bloke in the head band?
Wouldn't let Jimmy Sa-vile in Our House!
Lovely Stuff 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 shoot the dirty Basterd
Nor mine. We all knew what that cigar muncher was up to.
He fixed it for me to milk a cow blindfolded when I was a kid.

Lovely interaction between Suggs and Chas. Warms the cockles of the heart ❤, whatever they are
I love Suggs sunglasses. Very stylish. They were only available in Japan apparently, so very much doubt I could get hold of a pair now 35 years later.
Can't get enough of this, even after thirty years !!!
Love this dance sequence, cue fron the knocked lamp,,, ruclips.net/video/kJhUgMQdbsI/видео.html
They were just brilliant, I waited all week hoping that Madness would be on Top of the Pops and was so elated to see them when they appeared.
I still can't believe bob geldoff didn't give these guys a part in Live Aid 1984.....Why?
Suggs said no he said "Geldof? He couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery!" 😂
Because it was 1985.

Song starts at 00:07 to skip past the creepy presenter at the beginning.
Loving that gorgeous baby blue coloured guitar!
this song is brilliant on so many levels
"Father gets up late for work
Mother has to iron his shirt
Then she sends the kids to school
Sees them off with a small kiss (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
She's the one they're going to miss
In lots of ways"
As mom absolutely crumples the fuck out of dad's shirt and slaps the shit out of the kids hahaha. Madness really understood how to be on film! I think this might be my favorite pop song of all time.
Love this song.
Jimmy Seville - creepy considering what has come to light regarding him. Love that Madness attempted to recreate the video. Memories: To s middle class white kid from the South, Ska was something unknown and exotic.
Suggs said during a concert ‘ Jimmy Saville - we should’ve sorted him out when we had the chance ‘

Chas 😍😍😍😍

When the British was AWESOME...
No CD's back then! Anyway they spent their budget AND some for that set!!! Not often seen on TOTP such a fancy set as that you no!?!? NO joke!
So ahead of their time
Holy shit Tom Cruise was in Madness!
What are you talking about? Tom Cruise is like 5ft. "tall"!

This is pretty Awesome 😊
Our house, with the freezer full of cheap chips, burgers etc and the house has a satellite dish attached...
Best version
should have been number one..
*Why....can't....today's musicians be like Madness? (Both British and internationally).* PS: What exact air date of TOTP was this taken from?
Didn't appreciate the awsome bass back in the day listening on my pye record player . I said pye not pie that's the presenters bag 😄
they demontise youtubers for various reasons, yet have a pedo, rapist etc on their channel...says it all really
Carl looks AWESOME here. luv the facial hair on him!
TV appearance better than original vidéo.
Saville ruined it for me ...,why didn’t they edit the bastard out?
Because it was uploaded 11 years ago when no one knew about his antics, duh
not madnesses fault 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ah bless.

Great Performace/Band otherwise
Matt Damon's a time traveler 🙈
jimmy savile oh no no no no
Joy in a bottle
I've watched a few of the madness Top of the Pops videos... are they lip syncing? The sound is exactly like the recording and it just seems unnatural.
Now then now then the intro's fucked up.
Should have cut the Beast out!
Yes, everything bad that happened to anyone ever should be removed from history.
82
(if by "perform" you mean lip-sync)
On TOTP they were required to lip sync, which is why Madness went overboard with it, not bothering to pretend it was live
82
Edit the beginning out.
