Definitely check out Arson & Equal sign from JITB. I also love Hangsang from his Hope World mixtape. But actually, the best thing would be if you guys watched his entire Lollapalooza stage. It’s incredible. The way he commands the stage is something else.

True... it'll even great if they listen to the Jhope albums and then react to the stage to be familiar with the set.

Lollapalooza!!!!!! All Day Long 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I’ve watched it more times than I can count, Hobi is so flippin phenominal!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I agree, Hobi is more experimental in style than the RM and Suga. I think it's partly because he didn't initially start as a rapper so he was learning what he was good at and what he wanted to do as he went along his journey in BTS, and like he says here--he's just always actively studying and learning his craft! I think while his songs are really sonically diverse, there's a very Hobi-style groove to it which comes from his dancing.
Can't believe this was the first j-hope song you listened to cause when I tell you how shook the whole fandom was when More dropped, nobody knew what to do besides barking 😂 Jack in the Box sounds a whole lot grittier than his previous mixtape Hope World, which was all saturated colors and bright sounds, but I still can't wrap my head around how he managed to integrate his essence in this new album without it seeming like a gimmick but he did! It really was the best first step that the members could've released to herald the new chapter of BTS.
I hope sometime in the future you can watch his Lollapalooza set, you'll see what I mean about the contrast of his sound and personas, as well as see him performing live. A lot of Army say that they left BTS concerts being converted to j-hope biases, he just comes alive on stage!

I love listening to when all 3 of the Rappers are doing their thing together on the Cyphers seeing and hearing them live at Wembley Stadium was amazing.

Jhope is very creative and pays attention to all aspects of making music! Thank you for your reaction. Check out more from his album Jack in the box to see his creative vision and hold of the narrative.

J Hope of the 3 Rappers is the one who was signed on as a dancer he was in the dorms with RM and Sugar and few other Rappers and he would listen to them and eventually he joined in with them as they all battle rapped late into the night. He had not written lyric either before but quickly learnt to write his own lyric's and learn to produce. He had Suga (aka Agust D) who had been producing before BTS and he had the assistance of the 'In house Producers' to learn off of as well. It seems he was a quick learner as his music came from street dancing and entering dance competitions it wasn't originally in song writing Rapping and Singing. Where as RM and Suga (aka Agust D) were already underground Rappers. Both RM and Suga play piano as well. I was only listening to RM playing piano last night.

Facts...j-hope is the most experimental and most unique sound. j-hope music is all what he is and he is pretty much in control of the direction of his music and his mvs.

Please listen j-hope's album Jack In The Box, and his older mix tape Hope World. You will definitely like them and experience how he is all rounder, creative, and experimental. Thank you for the great reaction!

Definitely check out more of j-hope's discography, both within BTS and for his solo work (Hope World mixtape and Jack in the Box album in their entirety). He also did a version of "Chicken Noodle Soup" and a collab with Crush called "Rush Hour." Watch his 2022 Lollapalooza performance as a capstone to exploring j-hope's work. He was the first Korean artist to headline a major US music festival, and I am not exaggerating one iota when I say that the performance was EPIC. I was there. It was absolutely amazing. I would add that J-hope is also into the lyrics as SUGA and RM both are. This song alone explores his feelings of ambition, as does Arson from a different angle. Similarly, BTS as a group, and each member individually, are known to experiement with genres, and they always put their own twist on the original, traditional sounds of those genres. That's what makes them so interesting as a group and well beyond any other gorup out there, no matter the nationality.

Check out Arson, from the same album as More. But then maybe also go back to his previous mixtape for Daydream--quite different. Always enjoy your BTS reactions, guys! Thanks

You should definitely check out jack in the box. Its an incredibly cohesive album that flows smoothly from top to bottom.
Rm and suga both decided to do multi genre and multi style albums. Both are incredible.
Jhope's Jack in the box is like a tribute to retro hiphop and grunge sounds and sounds just garage like from top to bottom. It's pretty cool.
I would say jhope is defenitely more experimental in the type of sounds and rap flows he uses. You don't really hear this type of delivery in korean music ever.
But genre wise rapline are all very very equally experimental.

You picked up on the ‘water’ theme in the lyrics really quickly! To add to it, the line translated as ‘I’m in my element’ is literally ‘a fish meets water’ in Korean, and the wore ‘More’ sounds like the Korean word for water (‘mul’).

I know that myself and many ARMY reactors were pretty blown away by MORE, as it was the first release from JHopes solo album (which was also the first BTS member solo album after their 2022 hiatus began) and was SO different from what we thought to hear from JHope….as an alt-rock fan before discovering BTS, I was thoroughly delighted!!
It’s a stripped-back beat and darker sound with more intense lyrics than we are used to hearing from our sunshine Hope, but I love it
I wouldn’t say j-hope is more ‘experimental’ than the other rappers, they just do it in different ways…JHope had an entire creative vision for this album, even saying that the song order on it was very important and should be listened to that way instead of shuffling….But RM gave us a solo album with 10 songs of 10 different genres, and Suga’s solo album completed a trilogy of stories that also included a full instrumental - they’re all growing and trying new things artistically to expand their knowledge and experience

  • @lizruork7877
    @lizruork7877 Год назад +1

More was the pre release track for his album jack in the box (yes that box lol)
A natural follow up is arson from the same album
Hobi started as a dancer and won the national title at about 15… he was picked up by big hit as a dancer but learned to rap in the dorm he shared with rm and Suga …
    In my mind
    Rm raps with his whole
    Brain
Suga raps with his whole heart
And j hope raps with his whole body… I think the j Cole collab illustrates that well… his rap
Wells up out of his movement… and j Cole was an inspiration and influence in his development
    Some tracks to
    Consider
    Daydream MV
    Outro ego MV
    Airplane MV
    Hansang live at lallapalooza
Chicken noodle soup MV ( yes that chicken noodle soup)
Btw anyone from BTS reminding you of stray kids is pretty funny… BTS are the OG stray kids are gen 4
But it must be said that mixing genres within a track is a feature of K-pop production now and was always fundamental to BTS…
It may have something to do with the song camp writing and composition of most BTS music

You should check out some of his older music from his previous mixtape Hope World - it's completely different from his solo album Jack In The Box (where this song is from) which was released last year. I would suggest the songs Daydream and Hope World
Also, his solo songs on BTS albums are very indicative of his personal taste - those are MAMA, Trivia: Just Dance and Outro: Ego. All amazing songs!! Ego is my personal favorite 💜💜
J Hope is definitely happy to experiment with different styles of rap and music, and interestingly out of all 3 rappers he usually includes the most singing in his songs and also sings quite a bit in BTS group songs. The one thing that's always been quite consistent in his music is the retro influences, which are present in a lot of different ways.

Well if you go with that saying, 10 years and jungkook, jimin and v did not learn whatsoever. The vocal line of bts are frankly mediocre. The rapline are the real brains of bts songs and the true artist. Now you are right j-hope is more experimental, adventurous and willing to take risk. He is the most flexible. Rm and suga really remained stagnant. Rm needed many collabs for his album to give it flavour otherwise his rap is flat. Sounds exactly the same as his Mono mixtape. Suga had better flow but he too exactly the same that is why he also needs to have a few collabs to break the similarity. j-hope did all this alone. Pushing himself.
