    Open Source vs. Source Available
Open Source - The project owner an user have all the power. If ever the project tries to screw users over the community can respond with a fork.
Source Available - Everybody can see whats happening in the code, but nobody can do anything about it if the project owner takes the project down a bad way.
My trust in Open Source is manly because I and the rest of all the users have the same rights and therefore power over the software as the original developers. Therefore the software has to be useful and serve it's users, It can't ever successfully work against their interests on a grand scale.
