Awaiting Resurrection - Bishop Barron's Sunday Sermon
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 мар 2022
- Friends, all three of our readings for the Second Sunday of Lent emphasize the transcendent world, the goal of all our religious striving. St. Paul speaks of how the Lord Jesus “will change our lowly body to conform with his glorified body.” We get a glimpse of what this transformation, this metamorphosis, will be like in the Transfiguration of Jesus.

Today makes one month that God called my beloved husband back Home and I miss him tremendously. This gives me so much consolation and hope. Thank you Bishop Barron. 🙏🏼🙌🙏🏼✨
*Transfiguration*
His face changed in appearance ...
His clothing became dazzling white...
It is as if his deepest identity became clear...
The divinity within him shown through his physicality...
His glorified human body was on display...
That through this slog of Jesus's public life, the disciples got a glimpse.
"That's who he is! That's what he is finally about!"
*And dare they dream it ?! That's what in store for us!*
That our bodies might be transfigured too.
God Bless
Thank you Bishop Barron. We need hope right now. Please continue your wonderful sermons.
I enjoyed this message immensely! I’m almost 79 years old, and have been struggling to recover from two slight strokes! It often amazes me that at times of focus on CHRIST I can completely forget the limitations of my body!! I doubt that I begin ‘to glow’…but my joy inside replaces my awareness of pain and numbness!! Oh yes, I’m looking forward to that glorified body!! Thanks, Bishop for your thought-filled message!
You are blessed and highly favoured . The mere fact that you are 79 and have surpassed that shows that you shine bright 🤍grateful to have you
❤
The Risen life, the flawless life, is also Eternal life. For one who believes in Jesus the guarantee is that it begins here and now and will continue in heaven for ever. It's only natural that one can experience its power and glory to good extent.
Thank you for being here☆ Stay blessed as always☆
Grateful for your testimony Margi! I’m 68 and bare the cross of arthritis, but when I’m praying the rosary I ask Jesus to lift me up out of the pain and it works. Maybe not as intense each time, but it could be that what remains of pain is there for purification purposes. I believe that these little graces of relief are a bit of our own transfiguration experience. I’m in process of learning how to embrace pain. St. Therese of Lisieux said in her autobiography, suffering becomes attractive and helps us to relate to what our Savior suffered for us. Blessings to you!
Please show your friends in your name this morning thanks
The glorified body according to Aquinas:
1. It has identity 8:06
2. It has quality 9:33
3. It has impassibility 10:31
4. It has agility 11:14
5. It has clarity 12:47
Thank you Bishop Barron for giving us so much food for thought.
I pray that you become the next POPE!! You are a great speaker. Because of your CD’s on Catholicism I became a Catholic I was raise Jewish. I watch you every Sunday never miss a week.
Would love to see you in person.
God bless You 🙏 and thanks 😊
It was disc 1, episode 1 in the Catholicism series that eliminated my doubt that Jesus was God, when he spoke in the person of God----by forgiving sins, healing the sick, raising the dead .
@@oliverclark5604 What on Earth are you saying?
God bless Word on Fire for not abusing the desperation of advertising during your videos. We seek you out specifically because we desire and find the words of everlasting life in your work. Bishop Barron is a gift to us all. You could abuse the obvious popularity with the usual ads most users burden us with, but you don't. It's why I gladly support Word on Fire personally. You do God's work on earth without demands, giving your wealth away freely. You live the law of God: give freely and you shall receive in abundance. ❤️
The image that comes to mind, of Jesus during the transfiguration, is the "Word on fire" 🔥. He is the Word, lit from within, resplendent beyond comparison. Like a glorious version of the burning bush, Jesus' spirit burns without consuming. He is the eternal flame who cleanses us with fire, burning away our sin without consuming our souls. Unlike the torturous fire of Gehenna, Jesus restores His creation, like a fire restores a sick forest, laying it bare so new life can be reborn.
Thank God for Bishop Barron. This Word on Fire mission is truly changing the world.
Gracias Padre! Mucha fuerza!
That means we have more life than we could imagine,no hardships,no oppression,no more starvation no more sickness since like Jesus Christ been elevated by our Father in heaven so do we.Perfect lives no more tears and pain and sufferings, what else we would like to accomplish when Jesus showed as the way.Only believe and of course our life on earth is passing and the only hope we have is a better life and perfect life.
Oh to look upon the glorious transformation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who on this earth suffered so much for us poor sinners, and now He is made whole and new in a perfectly healthy beautiful body shining in all His magnificence. It's truly reassuring that we too will be made new, from these decaying bodies when we see Our Lord and Saviour.
Thank you Bishop Barron for this powerful sermon. God bless you too.
This is so important!
Looking at this wonderful sermon again. I started thinking about babies and children who have died. I wonder about them…. Bless them , all of them .
Thank you Bishop Barron , and may God Bless you always 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
I have no words to describe the joy that this beautiful message has given me.
Another favorite of mine. God blesss!
Thank you so much was a great help im praying for you and for all bishops God bless and guide you on your journey
This sermon was the first time that it was explained to me that Jesus's Transfiguration is also a foreshadowing of our glorified bodies in heaven! I had always heard it explained as Jesus allowing His apostles a glimpse of His divine nature, which it certainly was, but this added insight from Bishop Barron was extremely helpful for me.
Bien. Dios le envuelva a usted en Claridad y Luminosidad. Paz y Bien.
Thank you Bishop. I love your talks
Excellent homily Your Excellency!
Another way to see the Transfiguration is- Our Desire for Holiness. I am learning.
Congratulations Bishop Robert and to your channel, for reaching 500,000 subscribers.
Thank you.
I lost my dad nearly 4 months ago already but this homily in particular gives me great comfort and hope.
God rest his soul
I’m very sorry, I know that pain. Look forward always.
Thank you Bishop Barron and you are so right. The Holiness of God brightens up my life every day.
Beautiful and insightful and inspiring, you are a gift to this world❤️🌍🙏
Thanks Bishop Barron. So encouraging, thanking God for you and your messages of love
Just beautiful. Thanks ❤️
I have puzzled over the Transfiguration for years. Thank you for explaining so clearly. It brought to mind the children of Fatima and how our Blessed Mother appeared in such beauty!
What a beautiful reflection. I wish we had more homilies like that in our home parishes. Thank you, Bishop.
To all my fellow Christians. I hope you are sending your prayers to Ukraine and all our brothers in Christ that are being persecuted across the world. Because here is a prayer for peace. For all followers of Christ, say it and spread the word about it. I know that this is not the topic of what Mike is saying but here is what I feel needs be said. "Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion- inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself".
This is the closing prayer of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy St Faustina.
Amen🙏🙏
Jesus I trust in you
The people of the Ukraine are on everyone's hearts and minds and we are praying for them.
@@parishvicar7612 Pray the Rosary. As often as you can.
@@oliverclark5604 I am of the mind that Forgiveness, Love and Mercy are more important. For is it not said in the Book of Romans that all men fall short of the glory and majesty of God? Justice is important but Love and Forgiveness is something truly needed in today's world.
What a beautifully put reflection of Jesus, PERFECTION ON HIGH!
Thank you , Bishop Barron
Thank you for sharing the Truth and Wisdom of our Faith with openness to all!
My 95 year old mother often asks me what I think Heaven will be like. Though I like to begin with 2 Corinthians 5:1, your Reflection, Bishop Barron, today was so good that I shared it with my Mother on my laptop...
@@oliverclark5604 What on Earth are you saying?
Well done sir. Well done.
It's a miracle that we can receive His glorified Body in the Eucharist. It produces an indescribable Light greater than the sun and the moon... even if you can't perceive it. Thanks be to the Holy Trinity 🙏🙏🙏
Amen 🙏
I guess all the more we want to aim more and work for Heaven.
Thank you Bishop Barron for explaining the true meaning of light as it appears in the Bible. You have a gift of explaining our Faith in such a way that we become excited about our Faith and we want to learn more.
Amen!
I keep you in prayer Bishop B.🙏
Amen. Viva Cristo Rey! God Bless you too Bishop Barron! :D

I came to understand these readings in a way that i never have.Thank you!
Beautiful Bishop Barron thank you for the metamorphosis in our faith.
Thank you for your beautiful Presence here, Sabrina☆ Stay blessed as always☆☆
I have such a smile on my face and in my heart over this sermon. I’m going to be 63 in October, feel so young in my heart thanks to my God, but not so much body wise. As I get older there is this wonderful surrender in me as I appreciate the fantastic life I have lived thus far but so ready as I head forward towards Heaven , will I make it ? Please tell me Bishop Barron that I will . Lol. Kind of a eye opener when you play tennis at thirty , forty, but sixty three? Not happening. Do you walk 18 holes? Just love you , thanks for everything.
A very realistic comment I have turned 67 and have the same thoughts! God Bless us all!
God Bless U
@@rachaelhowey4106 I turned sixty and what you have shared resonates! Young on the inside, but increasingly limited in my body. This sermon was a welcome reminder of where God wants us all to be - home!

Hope wee wiil reach the heaven and comes afterall resurection in a perfect shape. Thanks for your lecture
I truly enjoyed your sermon Father! It brought back some memories from my mind over the 63 years of my marriage to my husband, Jim! About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with the beginning of Dementia! Christ and His Blessed Mother have certainly watched over men and also my husband our children! We now live in an assistant Living Home together and get together with our friends and family when we can! Of course, when COVID was so intense we reached out to our family by phone calls! I am forever grateful for what Christ and His Blessed Mother for always being a part of our lives! Truly enjoy your messages to me Father! Love Mary Sue Karl
God bless you heaps☆
Believe , as it is written, that you are already truly HEA L E D.
Im glad hes talking about the mystery of CHristianity, I feel like its something that isn't pondered on enough.
This was a beautiful sermon. The mention of Mother Teresa reminded me of a story. Supposedly someone asked her, ‘How do you do this (tending to dying people) day after day … and she responded… when she looked into their eyes she saw Jesus’. Was that her ability to be at the highest form of spirituality… she saw in each person not the dying rotten body….. but the spiritual presence of Jesus? The light of Jesus. She had to be in a spiritual ‘transformation’ to minister sick, diseased, smelling human lifeless beings. And in that room to anyone looking at Mother Teresa… I’m sure she would have illuminated a wonderful spiritual light. ❤️✝️
guess she really took what our Lord said seriously that when you take care of the poor and other weak you take care of me.
eye has not seen and ear has not heard
Thank you for your RUclips video this morning in the 2nd Sunday in Lent

Dear Bishop Barron, thank you so very much for your wonderful sermons, i loved how you closed this one; ' what God holds out for us; the eye has not seen, the ear has not heard, let that give you hope...beautifully said. peace, eyah

Beautiful explanation of transfiguration. God Bless you Bishop.
Fabulous homily. Thank you Bishop Barron and God bless you.
Such beautiful imagery portrayed by Bishop Barron, spurring us on to greater degrees of holiness! God bless you Bishop Barron 🙏🙏🙏
I had never conceived of the thought that you raise BB, that scripture makes no reference to what Jesus looked like. An enquiring mind, and very beautiful mind that God has given you, that you may share with us... Thanky you BB, God is utterly awesome, and awesome doesn't come anywhere near, but that's the best my human limitations can muster. O loving and gracious God our Father, have mercy on us 🙏❤️💙💜
You have provided us with an excellent example of how you talk/think about hope. Thank you your Exellency.
Bishop!! This was a FABULOUS sermon! I could see ALL the CLARITAS as you described, The Transfiguration, Mother Teresa, and Padre Pio. It gives me HOPE!! Laudetur Iesus Christus.
Amen…
Bishops Barron,I am so amazed all the time with your interpretation,
Thank you ,
Thank you Bishop Barron for your wonderful sermon. GOD bless you. Stay safe. ➕❤
Thanks Bishop, God has given you great talents in enthusiasm, simplification and deep theological reflection. Especial thanks for helping reconcile perspectives on Vatican II, that we are in this world, struggling, trying our best, but ultimately our homes are in Heaven
Heaven is our country☆
Many beautiful thoughts and images for us to ponder this Lent. Thank you Bishop Barron 🙏 ☺️
Great sermon!

Great sermon Bishop. It’s funny but my first thought when I awoke this morning was that this is not our home. We are meant to live and love here but we are pilgrims on earth. Confirmation of the image that came to my mind.❤️🙏
"Our Lord has written the promise of Ressurection, not in the books alone, but in every leaf in Springtime." *- Martin Luther*
Thank you for sharing this remembrance. It is a blessing to me. I am beset by evil ones, because I reported human trafficking.
It is wonderful hear of a Man of God that held true to the end.
And the end will be soon for me too as I do not "keep my mouth shut" while they sell Christian teens out of the schools, and other places you would not suspect.
I am very thankful for god’s blessings me to hear father Bishop Barron any preaching message from lord of god’s 🙏
Thank you Bishop Barron, that was a very deep and beautiful homily. I especially enjoyed the story of the World War 2 vet who served Mass for Father Pio and saw the Eucharist bathed in a halo of light.
Thank you bishop for lovely description ♥️😇♥️
Wonderful serman as always. Prompting of the soul. I like this. For, how great will it be to eternally follow the soul's prompting without the trials and struggles of the material world muddying the waters.
