You clearly loved this, and that makes me glad.
Jari, the lead singer, is one of those impossibly talented jems who don't come around very often.
He can write the lyrics, and the music, and play the guitars, and the bass, and sing, and work the recording machinery, and design the album, and not many people can do all that, never mind do it all so well.
He's also missing a part of a lung.
The drummer gave his all, and Kai has a lot to give, to say the least.
Jari has since handed off his guitar parts live to a new member, so as to just sing, because doing both at the level he operates was exhausting, as we mortals might imagine, I mean these guys don't just strum basic folk song chords. They play advanced, sophisticated, usually long and difficult metal compositions.

Never trust a drummer who can do tricks with his drumsticks. That means he's mastered his instrument enough that he felt he could take time to practice some flipping tricks with his drumsticks. I saw him do that and I just knew, stuff is about to go insane!

I really like Wintersun. I see everyone recommending "Land Of Snow And Sorrow", which is indeed very nice, but please check out "Loneliness" and "Death And The Healing" as well. Those are my favourites from this band. And please react to Make Them Suffer - "Old Souls" and "Threads"^^

Indeed. They are epic songs. Over ten minutes long a lot of the time. There are even individual tracks for different instruments and you can just marvel at how it was put together into a coherent musical piece. All of those layers. Did you notice Kai - the drummer?
Everything is written by the guy in the middle Jari. Although, he is no longer playing a guitar live during concerts. He got very sick during his military training and they had to remove a part of his lung. And you need a certain lung capacity to do both clean and harsh vocals and any additional weight on your shoulders or chest has a negative impact.

So, something like "Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean" by Nightwish is probably for Kai a nice warm-up session in comparison to this monster of a song. :-)

Jari Mäenpää is mastermind behind the band and it started as Jari's soloproject. He was playing at same time in Ensiferum which is finnish folk metal band, but cause he had to spend so much time in Wintersun songs they kicked him out. I am glad cause because of that there are so many great songs.

yeah Kai Hahto is an amazing drummer
Welcome to Wintersun music, really talented band. We could describe them like skill, and skill and after that skill. So, now you have heard two most best / skillfull Finnish metal band (my opinion) - Wintersun and Nightwish. Others being like Amorphis and Imsomnium etc.
This song is from their second album, Time 1. In that album, there is only 5 songs. And 3 of them you can find this kind of rehearsal video. Try next "Time" from this same rehearsal session.
BTW. Today came out video where Tuomas answer´s to fan questions FAN Q&A. There is some important info also to coming Nightwish concerts... :( . ruclips.net/video/u6fDUK1xM3Y/видео.html . But other info what he gives is really nice and liked listen him very much.

This was my 40-50th time I've listened to it. It works every time. "Time" Live rehearsal is a great one too.
This is another favorite band of mine. I've been lucky to see them live three times and meet them. They are such nice, genuine guys and take such pride in their craft. When I listen to their music, especially this album, it conjures up epic visions. I love them so much! 😍

Hey! I just happened to stumble across your channel and this video on RUclips! You picked one of the best, most impressive songs to listen to!!! There's others too from other bands that I'm aware of. This one song in particular is my favorite Wintersun song! I suggest you react to the band Dimhav. They are brand new, they just recently came out with their debut album and they're really amazing too!

great reaction tauri,fantastic that you find this band. this what i know this band so far. singer do songs. he thinks his singing is getting better every year. he doesnt play guitar anymore conserts coz he want only sing as good him can. they play acoustic 1 tour coz airplane loosing they guitars,but nobody cares and they love it even so. he is perfectionist. i see you react loneliness,i go see that next. thats very sad song i think and there is part singer dad who died. oooh and why they dont do music videos is coz thats too expensive,no money.

Time is also a great song by them, the drummer is now with Nightwish. And Nightwish just released a new album on the 10th of April, check that out too please. Great reaction, i knew this band for a while now, they are awesom

Yes, pirate metal is strong in this one. My fav part was the layered singing. They all sing great, the harmonics were beautiful. Also the classical female choir and the aetheric tunes in the background, give this the space travel vibe. I also dig them descendos they have there, and the sound of that bass.

I don't get it. Why every band should have female singer in nowdays? Sure there is good female singers but to be honest, lot of bands and songs are written to male singers and so is this. I can't hear this sang by female even if someone is doing the cover, this is perfect by male.

The drums is slightly to much, it would be more fitting if it was mixed slightly back some more and the lead guitar was up more. So, I'm not a fan of this song, overall. It's interesting, but not perfectly up my alley.
