Great America is my home park, and I'd be happy with a B&M mini dive or an RMC single rail. That said, in the past few years, they have been kind of promoting the Wonder Woman coasters in the queues of their other rides, and I have heard other predictors rumor that the single rail model is the one they've been working on.
Same
They r getting new coaster in 2024
@@tommycrocco5815the are getting a new ride, not coaster.
I am happy to get this ride, but a coaster would have been nice, its such a nice park, yet we havent gotten a new coaster in 5 years.
There is just so many large boomerangs
@@tommycrocco5815no they’re not
Regardless of what Great America gets for their next coaster I think its fair to say it will be a great one. My favorite thing about Great America is that there is not a single bad coaster in their lineup.
Itd be nice to see GCI redo American eagle and changup the layout
SFGAm is my home park. I hope they hold off until 2026 for a more substantial investment for their 50th anniversary. Hopefully there is enough time for the new leadership to plan something significant. I don't want to see a single rail at the park, but I do like the idea of the B&M Dive. SFGAm is definitely due though, but I am willing to wait another year for something bigger/longer/more complete/more well-rounded. Their past 3 coasters have been at most 45 second rides.
They do need a new coaster that has 3 train ops
First U.S. axis coaster. This park has historically been the pilot study park, getting first or second (watered down) versions of coasters. Fiesta is starting to take that role, but they have had too many additions recently to get the intro-level axis
SFGAm should get a RMC Raptor in 2025. It’s the last of the big 3 in the chain. Its color scheme should be very different than what we have currently.
6:41 The coaster will be called Top Thrill Hamster
I highly doubt that Six Flags Great America would look to remove Demon for the next coaster. I predict that they’ll focus on improving the coaster (i.e. re-tracking some of the ride, improving the rock work).
As for the next coaster that the park will build next, I think that we’ll need to keep our eyes on a Mack Rides Extreme Spinner (similar to Ride of Happiness at Plopsaland de Panne). A coaster like this would definitely seal the deal.
I think great America is working on demon they are filling Busch gardens progress on the improvements on loch ness before going all out and if they re tracking it it's from premier rides has they are they the only company left with that track design
too expensive
I’m with you. I would prefer the dive coaster but I think that it will be a single rail. I don’t want a clone but I think that it will be.
I think they will add a smaller/ cheaper coaster in 2025 so they can save up on money and land for a bigger one in 2026 for their 50th
In essence, add a single rail, then go all out on something huge
they won’t do back to back coasters
The placement of the JD clone in Hangover’s old plot would be nice. It would be an excuse to expand DC Universe, and connect Superman with the other DC rides (besides bfm)
Totally agree!
Good video. I’ve been a patron of Great America since 1976 when Marriotts built it. I’ve seen every change in that park.👍👍
A B&M mini dive is technically feasible in the Winner's Circle / Buccaneer plots, but it would be a tight squeeze. The lift and first drop will need to be on the same side of the backstage alley as the station - you can't have crowds of people gawk at it across from V2, then realize the entrance is clear on the other side of the park. So you could place the station where the go-kart's maintenance shed is, run the lift hill next to Little Dipper, and turn right for the vertical drop facing Goliath.
Add the usual Immelmann, put a zero-g roll over the service road, then do a cobra roll on the Buccaneer Battle / Deja Vu site. Add a proper airtime hill instead of the MCBR, a stalled cutback for variety, and some turns and airtime pops into the brakes.
A Vekoma tilt could use a similar layout, but as it's not as steep, its lift hill would probably need to run next to the Mooseburger Lodge, with its vertical drop facing Batman.
Either option seems much more likely than a Raptor. Great America lacks a standout 65 mph multi-looper - both Batman and X-Flight are just fine, but they don't have 7 inversions like Medusa and Scream or Riddler at Magic Mountain. So I'd put my money on a B&M dive instead.
I've noticed that great America's next coaster predictions haven't changed for like 4 years now
😭
Except for the dive coaster thing but istg when a dive was announced for FT people immediately said great America has to get one😭
Six flags is my home park, and I’m super excited that they are actually opening Sky Striker in 2024!!! I’ve already ridden everything else, so can’t wait to ride this one!!💗
vekoma tilt coaster much better than a B&M
Just bring back Deja Vu and put it exactly where it was. That would make most of us very happy.
I legit thought you were going to say a dueling RMC single rail coaster. I think that a dueling Raptor would be a good idea, something akin to West Coast Racers.
I like the idea of a raptor in the larson loop area. I haven't ridden one yet, but really want to. Do you think bay beach in green bay wisconsin will ever get a second coaster?
Maybe one day but do they need a 2ndv
Merger aside and lapse since Max Force, it makes more sense for next big coaster to be in 2026 for the 50th anniversary.
Maybe the should add some additional flat rides before they go onto a big coaster. I say a Funtime star flyer should go in the former Sky Trail spot which has now been empty for ten years. They should also revamp the Mardi Grad section by adding some rides from Zamperla like a Nebula, a Disk O, and an Endeavor. Finally, give the Camp Cartoon area a refresh by transforming it into either Bugs Bunny Boomtown or Camp Snoopy.
I’ve been anxiously waiting for this video since Great America is my home park.
Hope you enjoyed it
I like your thoughts for the coaster near old Mardi Gra ride. Unfortunately for some reason Great America really does not build rides over the midways. The only one that is is Demon and that was because they added the midway. It is also only the brake run. We will see how it looks though.
I'm predicting a major upgrade to Demon for 25, and a humongous upgrade to eagle for 26
RMC? 👀
@@George_bonnaireplease RMC Eagle I don't care just make it happen
@@George_bonnaire not necessarily, as there's other options, but I do expect serious structural upgrades to make it race again
@@jimgoebel5348 I mean if they have to do work on the structure they might as well do an Rmc racing coaster
Oh no! The next one should be so high! Until it can see, 'downtown Chicago on a sunny day.' That/this is what's needed plus with a many more surprises to come after that 1st drop! That's what's needed!
I don't think we're going to see a coaster at Great America for a while, especially since they don't have too much space. Plus i think they should focus on Flat rides and stuff for families, since they're lacking in that department
The tilt coaster would be my choice. The drop is a very unique experience and would really draw the crowds. It's a spectacle for people who are too scared to ride too. New Vekomas look great so I think this could be a big winner. I love RMC so a raptor would be great too. I think it’s more likely that the park either gets a clone of Stunt Pilot or Railblazer is relocated. It would fit in the same location where Railblazer is at CGA. A clone of JDC in the location you highlighted would be cool too. SFGAm is my home park and I'm tired of clones here, but I would make an exception for a single rail clone. Please not another B&M. I know they're reliable, but they tend to lack intensity. Plus more variety of manufacturers is always good. Dive machines are pretty boring after the first drop so I would be disappointed if SFGAm got one. With that said, I think a mini dive will be the next major coaster.
I really feel like great America finally needs to get it's elite coaster
I was happy to hear about your predictions with a B&M dive since i've never gotten to ride one and i've been eager to try one!
I’d be happy for a new coaster next year at my former home park, but there’s a part of me that thinks they’ll wait til 2026 for their 50th
Honestly great america us my home park a b&m dive is good bc sheikra exceeded my expectations and they already have a rmc like goliath. And it would make more sence with a b&m
They desperately do NOT need a b+m dive. Have enough b and m’s with varying degrees of intensity and inversions. If they spent another 20 mill on another b and m, people would still be begging for that standout elite coaster. A dive right across from x flight, again, the redundancy is astounding. A tilt or even a vekoma looper like the ones we see in europe would be awesome. A single rail like wonder woman at magic mountain would be awesome. The ride time is long as heck and checks every box. I dont think they would go with an intamin mukti launch because they just built mxx force. A mack rides xtreme spinner, a b and m giga, a mack hyper coaster with inversions, or a single rail would really seal the deal. I know they have raging bull but if they focus on airtime w another b and m model, it could be different enough.
Got to take into account 2026 will be their 50th anniversary, so maybe they save the next coaster until then.
Interesting predictions. SFGAm is my home park and I am certainly waiting for them to get a new coaster!
I knew about the plot of land where Buccaneer Battle is or was as well as the go karts area being a good spot for a coaster, but not that new area of land. If they put something there, then that would be interesting. Maybe they'll see this video?
Anyway, I'm skipping the 2024 season and not going back until they have a new coaster.
slfgm is my home park let hope they don't remove demon but let hope they put a dive coaster there because all the time I go there I picture a dive cost can fit there but the might have to remove some land but it will be ok but Ragging Bull have the batter view on eveny Coster I been on and the back to back it some good I mean good air time on the right set it the best and can you make a video about the update on the new ride I forgot the name can you pls thank
Since they removed Hangover and the only ride left in that area is Big Easy Ballons, I believe the next coaster will be in Orleans Place area where they can fit The Single Rail Wonder Woman, A B&M Floorless 7 Looping coaster, or A Knott’s Berry Farm Surf’s Up Coaster. Placing a new coaster combined with Buccaneer Battle to stretch it by the go karts by the Little Dipper Is Impossible where that would interrupt the path through the tunnel. That is Too far away to put a coaster. I live in Chicago and I know this park to well to know your conclusion wouldn’t work. Don’t forget: The Demon, X-Flight, Raging Bull, Whizzer, and The American Eagle is already stacked in the area of the park. On the opposite side, you only have Goliath, The Flash, Batman The Ride, and The Joker. Once you pass The Joker, you have a huge area with The Big Easy Balloons alone until you get to Superman and Dark Knight. They need to fill that area with another coaster.
i agree there is literally nothing right there by the balloons & burger spot
Good luck to them. Dive coasters are cool. Yukon Striker. Do like that Tilt Coaster, i think its a neat ride. Maybe a few years down the road for Canada's Wonderland. Be in where FlightDeck, Time Warp and Kingswood are. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dive coasters blow
RMC single rail (RailBlazer) are whippy. They will be ridden once by everyone, not really enjoy it, and then spend their time on the other rides. They also have low capacity
I think it will be 2026 for the 50th anniversary
New coasters, designed and engineered to be smoother and handle riders in high capacity are AWESOME and I love them; but there's an elephant in our home park: What...are they gonna do...about American Eagle?
This has been a 10 year, looooong standing, NAGGING question of mine. All these other parks are retracking or RMC-ing their "old" (RME) woodies that were built in 2000 or later. Puh! Built in 1981, American Eagle would call those coasters 'young whipper snappers'! Can't the park at least keep her well painted? (That said, I haven't been to the park since 2019 - so maybe they have touched up her paint a bit. If so, I retract my statement.) But the trains haven't raced in YEARS and it's getting downright jenky - like the wheels need to be tightened to hug the track better or something. We often joke that it should be just rethemed as "The Dukes of Hazzard" cuz the trains SLAM down in the valleys like an ol' stock car that launched off a ramp!
Don't get me wrong - I love the nostalgia of our classic wooden girl - she brings back SO many memories, I tear up - but it's just not an enjoyable ride anymore. When I first rode it in 1983, she was only 2 years old and, let me tell you, the racing aspect was GLORIOUS.
So, we continue to anxiously wait to see them put some love into it - not necessarily tear it down or replace her because, like Whizzer, it's a beloved landmark for many. Her sheer size is QUITE the site to behold.
2026 is the park's 50th anniversary - so maybe for THAT celebration they will reinstill new life into that beautiful wooden coaster for a new generation of coaster fans. ❤ But at the rate things are going, (I blame this awful recession - not the park) I'm beginning to worry that I'll grow too old to enjoy it by the time they can get around to it. 😂
(...sigh😢)
Great America is my home park. A single rail to replace Demon and a mini dive to replace go carts would be perfect. Remove American Eagle and build something great
I'm sorry but they should keep Demon and even rebuild the rockwork that they had to remove for safety.
Good video bro, my home park
SFGA is my home park and it’s definitely a fun place.
They should be the next hopefully.
Where's our giga though?
Anyone got a status update on Demon? Guess we will know whats going on with Demon better when the park opens this spring.
It’s open and running.
Jersey Devil's footprint would encroach on the railroad tracks -- I don't see that happening. SFGAm is a high attendance park, yet the Jersey Devil and Wonder Woman's Golden Lasso rides seem to have low rides/hour numbers. I see Six Flags wanting something with a higher rider capacity. Dive coasters are so 2016. With the success and rave reviews of ArieForce One, I could see SF putting in that type of coaster in the large parcel in the middle of the park.
Great America has had several "firsts" within the Six Flags chain plus world records over the years. How about the first S&S axis coaster? (or at least the first in the western hemisphere)
I love the shirt😂
Haha thank you!
What about B&M suspended coaster or surf coaster
I don’t think they’ll get a new coaster in 2025. I think they’ll get one on their 50th anniversary in 2026. If this is the case I really hope they go all out and go for something record breaking…or maybe finally RMC the American eagle !!!
Jersey devil is at great adventure not magic mountain
why you always targeting the gokart tracks :[
@theme parks they r getting new one in 2024
Great call Brandon!
wow.
I am thinking a giga would literally be a perfect fit in eagle's plot since they just tore down the entrance and are building sky striker and a new plaza right there. Also with the merger it becomes completely possible, I think its also a perfect comeback from the drought and would finally give us our standout we need. If we wait 7 years for a dive or single rail i will actually throw hands with six flags that's just so dirty. We should have gotten a single rail in 2022 and a dive in 2024 and something else in 2026 to go along with the other top 3's schedule...
American Eagle is getting a new entrance
@@tigerrocks503chase8 dosent mean anything could be placeholder
@@Verdelite It also got both its lift chains replaced during the off season.
to be quiet honest i'm happy were getting a gig discovery in my homepark for this year as for a coaster I'm thinking a mini dive to take up B.B and the go-kats spot maybe but the kids area over by eagler eally need to redone big time and i'm talkin zamperla package that's my predition in 2025 before a coaster like a mini dive.
Kidsopolis could use an update, but I think Camp Cartoon is in even more need of attention. I hope to see that area get a major renovation in the next few years with a new package of family rides, and maybe a more seamless connection to Logger's Run?
@@Aidea._. true but they would have to do it in 2 pases and with the merge and all I thing I can see then removing sprocket rocket for a vekoma family boomerang, or retheme it ti the looney tunes chartacters and all it Camp Acme Acres or something but who know but the kidsopolis need to be redone and so does cam cartoon for sure.
@@marcussorenson3380knowing six flags they would probably give sprocket rockets to six flags america
@@alejandrocastrejon4419 you know I can see that happening sprocket rocket going to six flags america and with the merger I can see a camp snoopy retheme in the camp cartoon section would be fine by me.
Do you think they will tear out the demon as it’s old and lots of downtime and not as popular as that’s good piece of land.
Demon has only recently gone down for two reasons. It needed a new lift motor which only took a long time because of post-COVID supply chain issues and it went down late 2023 because the rockwork started crumbling around the loops and needed to be removed for safety. The ride reopened during Fright Fest.
i live in Chicago 2026 is the 50th anniversary of the park
Yes.
Is your mouth sore from getting punched in the face? Sounds like it 😂
Their anniversary is in 26’. I don’t see them getting a coaster a year before.
Enthusiasts care about anniversaries much more than park personnel ever did, and doing it the year before isn’t far off anyways
@@marcusmcgraw3519 but this will be their 50th right? That’s a pretty big anniversary if you ask me. Doesn’t make sense for them to do it before.
@@buldasur2576 again, the park doesn’t care because it will get visitors regardless. If anything, it can boost visitors with a coaster next year, AND boost visitors with mentioning the 50th anniversary the year after
Only coaster nerds care about something like that, and it’s only so they can have all their wishes and desires come true. Which is why they should be ignored on that point
@@marcusmcgraw3519 saying “coaster nerds” only care about anniversary’s is just simply not true first of all. Having a coaster and then doing all the other improvements around the park in the same year will bring in more people. Having the coaster with the anniversary is just a massive boost for the whole event. It’s just the best way for the park.
@@buldasur2576 I can guarantee nobody in the “GP” cares about this anniversary. Would the park rather have one boost in one season when they could space it out properly and have 2? They don’t have to introduce a new coaster in the same year as their 50th anniversary, they can introduce a new flat ride and still bring in plenty of additional people without breaking the bank
If you’re operating a theme park, do you want sustained success, or do you want to blow your load for one year? You want sustained success. That’s why the anniversary thing is entirely meaningless to park operators and decision makers. I wish you could understand that, but you keep saying “they should build a coaster for 50th anniversary cuz I would really like it if they did”. That’s not a good enough reason to build the coaster
💚🎢
I remember all the great America fanboys saying they would run the chain and keep getting coaster investments. That was said right after max force. They haven’t got anything since 💀😭
It's like Great America and Cedar Point got together and stopped their flow of new coasters. haha
