Very good explanation on different ways you can go about it, I have the drennan punches if needed more than one disc I have some cut down tube in different sizes from a pole top kit that works great for meat as well and use end of the top kit to push them out.

I used a metal ferule from a broken fibre glass tent pole approximately 8mm diameter, does the job admirably. ✌❤ Bobj

Hi Roy. Thanks for your comments mate. I think what I meant was, that I didn't think I would be doing any UK style fishing in OZ. Either way, I'm so glad I actually did find I could do what I love. Cheers mate.😁😁👍👍

Hi Den,do you remember when they used potatoes for carp bait in the UK? I bread punch slices of potatoes and flavour them with turmeric.

Hi Den could you please tell us what size elastic you are using on each of your videos, great videos by the way keep them coming

Hi Gary. I normally do mention that mate, but it seems on this occasion I forgot. I was using a Slik 14-16 (yellow) elastic. Having said that, I should probably have been using something a bit lighter like a 12-14, but I haven't been able to order it in from the UK for months now. It also appears that it won't be coming back into stock until November.👍👍😁😁

Hi Den, Another fantastic video. I have owned a cheap pole for about 30+ years and only used it after I bought it whilst on a narrow boat holiday. Your videos inspired me to elasticate it and I am going to give it another go. A month or so ago I bought a set of bait punches and used them on potatoes soaked in turmeric. Now where did I get that idea from 😅? I did o.k., so wonder if bread could be laced with flavours or would it disintegrate.
    Regards,
    Barry

Hi Barry. I sometimes us a Salt Shaker to spread Turmeric onto my bread. You can use it for any other powdered additive too. Coffee is quite a good one.

@@FishingwithDenThanks Den, never thought of using the turmeric dry. Will try the coffee grounds from our coffee machine as well.

I'm experimenting with feeders which grip the bottom in fast flowing rivers at the moment Bob.

When you catch carp in Australia, do they want you to kill them? Was watching a thing about it and they're classed as an invasive species and they go to great lengths to get rid of them.

Hi Tom. In New South Wales, where I live and one other state, it is perfectly legal to return them alive, which is what I do. In other states, however, it is illegal. Personally, I can't see this policy having any effect whatsoever on the amount of Carp in the system. Carp breed so prolifically, that any reduction in the population caused by anglers will be immediately compensated for by the next spawning season.
