Absolutely amazing, thanks Matt!
No problem. My pleasure!
excited to try these at the canal :)
Yeah, that's what I like to hear! Enjoy!
Nice video bud! Really helped get it snappy!
My pleasure. Glad to have helped! Look out for the follow-up video coming soon.
Definitely gonna start trying this before I go to beach next to prep for learning kickflips
Heck yeah. Do it!
Love it as always!!!
Thanks Pete! I greatly appreciate your support.
Just leaving a comment to say I think your videos are the best. This is my first time ever subscribing to a RUclipsr. You rock!
Haha, wow! That's a serious compliment. Thanks. Don't know if I'd class myself as a RUclipsr, but I appreciate your comment nonetheless!
Great as always Matt.
Thank you!
I'll try this in the pool next week.
Do it! Let me know how it goes.
I GoPro everything. So, yes, you’ll see how it goes. The upside is I’ve got a decent back deck
This is trick I needed to work on and I didn’t even realise it.
Glad to be of service! Keep at it!
Nice location, well done bro!
Thanks bro! You'll also be pleased to know that after next week, every video will be using the new software! Onwards and upwards!
Nice
Flatwater back loop?... seem the kids hitting back looks at stonyfest ... and recently seen a video of a guy hitting a flatwater back loop into a normal loop ... SICK
That's awesome. Wow! Can you link me the video? I'd love to see it!
@@MatthewBrookKayaking One guy who is doing the flat water back loop into a front loop is Tomasz Czaplicki. I don't think he has any examples on his RUclips, but he's certainly got some videos of him doing it on his Insta.
This is great. Thanks! Psyched to try this during my next flatwater session. Do these work on flatwater in your full slice, too?
Thank you Steve. Yes, they definitely work in a full slice too, but require more effort to achieve the same level of air!
How do you flipkick?
Great question! I've never been much of a shoe salesman personally! 😉
Hi Matt, great video, really starting to understand the snap. Just one thing, when I tried I noticed I come nearly all the way around but my paddle gets stuck behind me. And tips on the last bit with the second blade, good work at world's btw, some tricky names to pronounce
Hi William. Glad to hear you're having fun experimenting with it. In terms of tips, I think I'd have to see you paddle to give anything accurate. Feel free to message the Matthew Brook Coaching Facebook page. Also, thanks for the compliment, but it's owed to other people! I'm not actually commentating at Worlds - couldn't get time off work in the end.
@@MatthewBrookKayaking Ok cool great, think I am getting closer, tricky drill ruclips.net/video/leAFiptt8P8/видео.html
Great video. Thanks! Do you think this could be done in a half-slice on flat water?
Thanks Tim. It can certainly be done, but don't expect to achieve the same amount of air as you would in a playboat/full-slice.
@@MatthewBrookKayaking Thanks Matthew. The reason I ask is that if it can be done, then I can train it and then when I try it on the river, I’m not starting from scratch.
@@timwatsonphotography for sure. Yeah, it's achievable. Give it a try.
Trying so hard... came close a few times I think but usually just end up faceplanting
Well done Christopher. Keep trying and you'll get there. Another thing that can help with this is being able to perform a low brace that starts in the rear quadrant of the boat and sweeps to the front. Have fun practising!
@@MatthewBrookKayaking yea I had to slow down my footage. It's close.. but very flat ... a sweeping brace at like 3/4 would likely seal the deal
Here are my attempts! I did try on a session before these but ended up doing back deck rolls. I'm not sure if I've got it totally in these examples since I think my boat may go too vertical on the nose through the move(?), but I think it's progressing. One of the things that is helping me though is to think of the first part like an over vertical beginning to a split wheel (helps me visualise using the paddle for support) and making sure pressure is maintained out to the side as the rotation starts to happen. Not sure if any of that makes sense, or how accurate my move is, but it's fun to practice!

Well done Simon. Those are starting to look pretty clean! Nice work!
@@MatthewBrookKayaking Thanks Matt!
