Kanye West - Stronger
Lil Wayne - Lollipop
90s SONGS

Ice Cube - Today was a Good Day
Ghosttown DJs - My Boo
90s: Raw lyrics. 2000s: Catchy beats. Both lit.
2023 : 💩🤮
I actually think its the opposite to an extent. The 90s music was more overall musical. They tended to create a whole vibe and the hooks more melodic and catchy. As time went on the beat became less relevant and it became more about the lyrics (lik wayne, emineem etc) with the occasional beat that created a vibe. Then in the mid to late 2000s it started shifting back towards being beat focused but the beats were simple, catchy with gatbage lyrics. Which is where we are today.
@ITech2005
Bruh.... STOP
You think the early 2000's was more lyrical than the 90's???
Bruh..... STOP IT
@@invisiblerevolution Its a touchy subject because it really depends on the artist. Some beats were so catchy that the lyrics didnt even matter, but then you also had artists that rose to the top based purely on their lyrical talent even when the beats where trash. Thats why i name dropped Eminem and Lil Wayne, but you can also add Outcast, Kanye West, 50 Cent, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar etc etc. The early 2000s did produce some hard hitting garbage, but it also brought out lyricists that were better than any we'd ever heard. The 2000s artists that that survived based on beats alone usually became one or two hit wonders.
@ITech2005
Ok cool....
but Outkast is 1990's era 😊
They hit MAINSTREAM success until the early 2000's.
both legendary decades
Definitely! 💯
Facts
True that. I agree 100 💯 percent
The 90s won
Exactly
90s is a vibe they can’t bring back
W comment right here
Ikr sadly
We can and should 😝 I'm tired of reggaeton
You know why we can't bring back os 90s
I think because we r in an era of LGBTQ tolerance and shit like that
Early 90s to early 2000s “gangsta rap”. I think the overall best times for music was 80s to 2010s
2020s is just something completely different
I would say late 90's to early 2000's (think '98-'06) was the best time for everything, with that said were only 3 years in the 2020's and the music is already better than the 2010's
20s is garbage tho@@JustAnotherShopaholic
Me and my sis grew up around New Orleans, loved rap. But laugh at the BS on the charts now. Being stupid shouldn't be cool.
I was in high school in the 2010s and let me just tell you. People said the same thing about the 10s back then that people are saying about the 20s now 🤷♂️ give the classics some time to mature, and the chaff some time to be forgotten and the 20s will sound like peak soon enough too i promise. Best advice i can give, value and appreciate anything good no matter where or when it comes from
90s still is so fresh
W comment 🙌
90’s will always be fresh af. You just had to be there and i was! 15 in 2000 🤙🏻

i connected a lot more with 90s rap than i did with 2ks rap style. but i grew up dancing to 2k rap music at the clubs. both winners!!
Exactly. I love 90s while riding and chilling. 2000s if I want to turn up and dance.

@@ericortega1745for the burbans and the lacs
I once met a woman that I will describe as looking "Karen-esque." She was middle-aged, white, had short hair, and turned out to be wearing a t-shirt bearing an image of Ice Cube and emblazoned with the words "Today Was a Good Day!" I truly, in that moment, felt I recognized the far-reach of good, classic Hip-Hop. 🖤
Both but 2012 is where it started to fall of
90s had a slower beat and it was more of a “boom bap” beat, they had understandable lyrics and had good instrumental samples. The stereotype for a rapper then was someone who was typically poor or a gangster, rapping about stories, problems, and their day to day life.
2000s is a mix of “boom bap” and a hint of trap beats, but they go all in on the instruments, and the beats get faster. They normally rapped about problems in the world, their lives, or sex.
2010s-2020s (because it has not changed at all) is full on trap beat, high pitched, barely even understandable music. With 90s rap you could at least fall a sleep to some songs like “better dayz” by tupac, but know it just sound like a fucking mouse clicking tournament with all the beats. No soul, just pussy, drugs, money, and guns.
Also all the rappers now are dying off earlier. At least most 90s rappers knew how to settle down and not OD.
@@cobano9953u said absolutely nothing in this comment 😂😂😂 ur just a 12 year old trying to look more mature than you are. gtfo
2007ish it really did.
2007 had good r&b hits tpain
Rock music happened the same thing before 2010s was good, but after... 🤮
I lived in those eras and I miss it so much.
I think we all miss it 😢
90’s
Biggie- juicy
Tupac- hit ‘em up
Dr Dre- nuthin but a g thang
Snoop dogg-gin and juice
Ice cube- good day
2000’s
Eminem- lose yourself
50 cent- in da club
Kanye west- gold digger
Lil Wayne- lollipop
JAY-Z- 99 problems
Their both 🔥🔥🔥
Yours is a better list to use. Mary J Blige wasn't even rap, she was R&B!
You forgot Ambitionz az a riddah for 90s
Where’s still Dre?
jayz was 90's dude. what you put JAY Z (99) in 00s jayz was 90's thats when hit hit his high not in 2000's, in 00" he was a guest by then
Neat list, but I would argue that "Can't Touch This" was the biggest hip hop track of the 90s.
The 90's for Rap is like the 70's for Rock music....90's wins hands down no doubt..no debate
For real 90s was boss and paved the way for the 2000s there wouldn’t be a 2000s without it ❤
@@robbthib1993And there wouldn't be 90's rap without 80's rap. So?
I used to prefer 90's rap but then I broadened my horizon and think 2000's rap is better. I also think 2000's rock is better than 70's rock. 2000's also wins in EDM, Reggaeton, Dancehall and RnB.
@@IStevenSeagal how can you Say this??? Maybe underground indie rap Is much Better in the 2000's but only that...
@@paolos1496 I say this because I broadened my horizon. And no I do not listen to underground stuff. When you grow and become a proper adult you kinda prefer the more viby soulfull stuff of the 2000's over the grimy street trash sound.

Lil Wayne & 50 Cent & Lil John were big growing up constantly played at school!
The 90's and 2000's hip hop culture difference is collaborations with all elements and party styles of music. That's why? The old school classic was very gold and legitimately dope than nowadays!
Both are better than what we have now and I’m only 18 and would rather listen to the old songs
So much better than what we have now 🙌
That’s all I do is listen to old music
Wow you have good taste 🎉

The biggest diference is how 90's is music you just vibe with it where 2000's was more flow with the lyrics.
I respect your comment
Rap started with flow so im confused by your comment.
@@johnny10grasp3 I was referring more to the music itself and how it changed, but I would say rappers back in the 90's had more flow then 00'.
I am happy I was born in the early to mid 1990s so I could enjoy both.
Im glad i was born in the 90s

90s west coast rap was the best and you can not change my mind
I agree 💯
Facts
Facts I got west over east even tho the east had a roster too‼️
Houston
@@philisiiStill used west coast hip hop music. As did Nevada, Oklahoma and Ohio.
Nas, Tribe, Mob Deep, Most Boom Bap artists, Big, Pac, OutKast - Too many heavy hitters in the 90s but both decades were legendary for hip hop. All empires fall, though.
Legend says they are still crossing paths to this day
90's rap had messages in them. Rappers could get on a track and rap about one specific thing very well for 4 straight minutes from start to finish. Their albums had a specific direction that all the songs led to. The lyrics were world class!!!!! There were Harvard professors that were studying Illmatic. Most of the greatest rap albums of all time were made in the 90s from the east coast, west, and even the south. Most of raps all time greatest hits were from the 90's. Today's rappers have yet to make a truly classic ablum that will be remembered for generations like the old school rappers.
Both great times of music early 90s all the way up to 2008 after that the hip hop game started to change ,, in the punch line and the delivering of lyrics ,,i personally think theres just very few good new schools artist ,, compared to back in the day ..
