    Perfect timing! I need to get back into practicing my pull-ups again and these were great tips! I noticed also you keep your legs straight and pointed instead of hooking your ankles. Does this help also with getting yourself over that bar? Great stuff!

    How long did it take for you to finally be able to do 5 pull ups?

    Hi Nast;
    First time caller, short time listener ...!
    But seriously ..., at about 02:05 through
    to 220 you take "sips of air" ... are you
    holding your breath then?

    • @structureyourstrength8224
      @structureyourstrength8224  4 года назад

      Hey Wayne, she is not holding her breathe, she is exaggerating the in breath to show keeping tension while breathing. There are times to hold your breath and times to learn how to breath while keeping tension.

      @@structureyourstrength8224
      Not ( necessarily ) related to this movement ... when are the times to hold your breath?

    • @structureyourstrength8224
      @structureyourstrength8224  4 года назад

      @@W.E. When going for maximal efforts in the 1-5 rep range. For example, if you are doing a heavy 5 back squat, you want to keep intraabdominal pressure at the bottom of the rep. Some are maybe pushed out, but you don't want to breath out until you are getting towards the top of the rep.

    Why do band pull aparts hurt my shoulders though?

    • @RickMartinYouTube
      @RickMartinYouTube 5 лет назад

      try a lighter band, perhaps focus your mind on your scapulas coming together rather than pulling your hands apart....
