Mike, this video of your review of the Ember Smart Coffee Mug is a coincidence because last Friday I was browsing around at the Apple Store and I saw this mug. Although I did not buy it because I didn't like the price either, I was curious as to what it does. You just satisfied my curiosity. Thanks for the review and keep up the good work! You're awesome! :)

Today i was going for a second cup of coffee and my Ember "popped" then there was a geyser of steam coming from the base. i put the cut in the sink and in less than a second it started sparking and then exploded! Moister must have gotten to the lithium batteries and BOOM! The fire & smoke was pretty intense and i thank God i didn't get burned. It was close!
Thanks for the review. How about the brand BUUO? I saw it on Amazon, pretty cool dual-sided led display but wanna to check out the reviews first. Ah, there's zero review videos of BUUO mug.
My cup is not holding the target temperature! When I set the target temp on my phone it set the temperature on the cup but then the temp goes immediately to off...can u suggest a solution?
Informative video, MW. I recently bought the Mug2 and charger. Separately actually (saved a ton). It doesn't last very long at all on a charge. I get about a cup worth of time, and then it's dead (without the coaster). The tumbler actually has the same battery as the mug, so the reason why it may last longer for some users is probably because the tumbler has a sippy top, which retains the temperature in the tumbler (more insulation, external air/AC/fan won't cool the contents as quickly, etc). I would like to see if I can find a sip top for my mug, and think that may keep the beverage hot for longer...and thus prolong the battery. Or I may just get used to using the charger at all times. It is nice to have a hot beverage at the perfect temp from beginning to end. The Ember mug is a one trick luxury pony. It does not however last the manufacturer suggested 90 mins per charge (at 130F). 30-40 mins, tops.

They need to fix their app! And answer my tech support email. Find a solution... I'm not alone. Their app is rated 1.8 out of 5 stars on the Google App Store. The android app won't update and won't stay connected. Which wouldn't be so bad but after failing the update or disconnecting, it requires that I delete the phone pairing, reset the mug, then start the whole app setup/pairing again. Niiiiice! It's a smart mug. The app needs to work.
Keeps your drink at an optimal temp for an hour? So, according to you it only buys you an extra 30 minutes. Am I missing something? Why wouldn't it just keep it warm indefinitely? If you take more than 30 minutes to drink something, why not use a thermos? Seems like a waste of electricity.
DO NOT BUY this mug! I have a friend who bought one and I was considering so I borrowed it from her. The mug is too small to start off but then the app and the phone have to be paired which sounds easy enough. However, I find that I have to unpair it and pair it again each time I wanna use it. Even if I pour liquid into it, it still saids, "Empty". So rather than just enjoying my cup of coffee I always have to get this synced and make sure that it is connected. After it has connected it's ok I guess. I would like it better if it could get hotter but yeah it's NOT WORTH the price
@@DeezSpoiledEggz Different, yes... different means to the same end -> hot coffee for as long as it takes to drink the cup. :) I'll choose the simpler method every time.

Do you have the biggest mug size? Because I'm sure there's like 3 or so different size. I think the one that's 400 odd ml is enough

Where can I buy the mug2 separately? I've been searching, and all I see available to buy is the coaster charger.

I love mine and it is a 14 oz. They also have tumblers. And it does stay hot for 1½ hours.
OR if your a teacher. You NEED this
100% agreed!
First?
I would never need this
That's why I need it
LOL!!! I once knew someone like you...xD Now I do again haha!
Got one of the 12 0z to go mugs for 100 regular 150 nd bout to get the new 14 oz home mug for 90 retail for 130
How much time it will take to warm the water to 50° from room temperature?
Hurry up with the jabra 85 vs Sony wh1000x3 I don’t know which one to buy and I’m planning to buy tomorrow
I would choose jabra
The cup is not saving the target temp...help!!!
How did you find the weight. few reviews state they noticed it was quite heavy.....is that to an annoying level, or just noticeable but no biggy?
No biggy, still using it and love it
If anything it feels...substantial in a good way
But is this the 8 or 14 oz mug?

Sam sam!! :) 😍
Great video super cool and convenient but yeah that's a steeep price
4:15 dang that would be some cold water 😂 More like ice cubes 😂
haha LOL!
He was referring to the temperature in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. 20 degrees Celsius is room temperature.
So heavy metals (and a battery) on a article that you used it for pouring your drink and then drink from it?
Idk if that is a good idea

Can you charge your Apple airpods in that $80 mug? If not, can they add it as a feature in Ember 8 - Sept 2028 edition?
I dig.
2:57 - 62c is... 62% of the temperature between when water freezes (0c) and when water turns to steam (100c) at sea level. Now you know ;)
Sip... Ahhhh. Ya know?
Hehe. Mike your the man. :)
Hahah thanks Jason :)
Nice to have
It's a vsitoo brand
Too bad it peels inside on the first days
What's next? WiFi toilets?
lol thought it was a late april fools joke making a video of a cup
LOL! That'd be interesting...actually - not a bad a idea at all xD APR 2020!

Microwave kinda renders this cup pointless. Feels like a solution looking for a problem.
Whatever you do, don't buy this mug. The charger/coaster would stop functioning after a few months and getting help from Ember is impossible.
The app is bad on Android. This mug us for Apple Users, only.
My vacuum insulated mug keeps my coffee warm for hours. No additional energy required.
Two different things !
