Reminding us what a great 5’4” piano can sound like. Looking forward to more recordings!

I know I've said it a million times but I still am going to say it because frankly, your use of tenths is just amazing!

What a cute little piano! Sounds much larger than it is. Great playing, as always!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! This was a less planned medley of songs. Sometimes I have plans for stringing certain songs together but this one was completely random. Thanks for tuning in! 😊

You mentioned in the previous video featuring the Chickering that it probably needs new hammers. Now hearing it I think that you're definitely right, though if you do replace the hammers I would voice them to be a bit brighter (not as bright as the originals of course but such a small piano probably will need some punch to really sing ;))

So you tune the pianos and do all of the restoration work yourself?!!! Listening to your performances is like visiting the past and almost seeing the places and the people where the music was originally performed.😀😀😀😀👑👑👑👑

A delight! Put it on over my lunch break and 10+ minutes flew by like 2! Time enough to play it once more... Cheers! PS: I so wish I had your touch! Even in my prime my leaden fingers were more suited to an organ; lol. BTW great selection, random or not!

Thank you ! I'm glad you enjoyed it. A lot of my performance depends on how well the piano plays by hand and this Chickering has a wonderful touch.

Awesome arrangements as always! I've been involved in an interesting project involving a laser piano roll perforator, if I figure out how to convert punch midi masters to the format read by the perforator then I can guarantee you could get rolls of your stuff for half the usual price of custom cuts!

That sounds like a very worthy and FUN project. My hats off to you as that's far above my technical comprehension!
And thank you for the compliments with my playing. I've really come to enjoy that technique with using tenths in music like this. Depending on the song, it's always enjoyable to either do a full tenth as a chord or with a little stagger between the top and bottom notes.
And yes, I think some new hammers are probably going to get added to the list. These are originals that were reshaped. I'm going to try to voice them down a little and if that doesn't help, replace them!

@@Yalie06405 If I figure out the technical issues then it's going to be so easy and CHEAP to do custom cuts :D
I've tried playing classical jazz like you do, using octaves for the melody leading but it's so difficult for me, I'm used to doing single notes and it's gotten me a bit lazy xD Such different styles, swing piano is frankly far easier in terms of technical prowess!
