Hua Hin is the place for me, really a nice area, not a crazy party town, but still enough to keep you plenty occupied. 90 days until I arrive for my 5 months hiatus.

Hua Hin and Khao Takiab is the best for long term stays or retirement in Thailand. You can live a regular life close to western qualities for malls, food, medical. But still have the local Thai style. Tons of other towns are better for the 1-8 week visit, but for long term I have not seen a better option in Thailand. Excellent Greeny. Just got back from Hua 2 weeks ago. Been going there for years. There's another great area on the west side of the train tracks behind the train station and Market Village. The food court bottom floor of Market Village is second to none. Im working on my retirement visa there. There's also direct flights to Chiang Mai . Nice area's 90 minutes drive or train away but quiet and Koh Tao (koh Phagnan Koh Samui) is easily accessible. Bus to Chumphon then Lomprayah ferry! I'll be back in February for 3 months. Maybe. Hua Hin is a very laid back area. Even more laid back are Prachuap Khiri Khan and Cha Am to the south and north, respectively. PKK has the largest weekend beachside market in ThaIland. The new Hua Hin train station is pretty nice, to get a 3 1/2 hour stress free train ride to/from Bangkok.

Cool impromptu video Greeny. I haven't spent any time in Hua Hin but my wife and I talked about it being a place we could retire to. If we don't just rent a place in BKK and use it as a home base and travel non stop, HH might be a place we move to. I will say, while I wasn't a fan of Pattya in years past, we didn't hate it on our 2 day trip this past vacay. It might be worth doing another few days there near where you live.
Looks really great! Lets try keep this area low key and not run by overtourism and raising prices. Save some places for us future expats who are still stuck working in U.S.
I'm with you Brian, the west side of the gulf is pretty damn desirable. Two concerns for me though... lack of nearby commercial air service and the potential overcrowding the new high(er) speed rail service between Hua Hin & Bangkok will bring. Still in serious consideration, though! Update: I stand corrected Hua Hin (HHQ) does have some limited airline service. Now if it they'd just add BKK/HHQ & UTP/HHQ service, even if only weekly. 🤞
Hua Hin is such a huge place. I think the restaurants near the seafood market will even cook it for you. I often go to Monkey mountain and have lunch there. Great views and inexpensive. I think it's been back for a while. More and more people are retiring there and many more people are coming down from BKK for the weekend. Nine million is really at the high end of the market - but it is on the beach and looks like a quality finish.
It’s nice and was on the list as a possible location for our beach condo but as it would add 2.5 hours to our commute from Buriram that ended up a deal breaker and Bangsaray won out over it and Mae Phim which was also on the list. So many cool places to visit in Thailand!

1) The Pattaya side would be better for us because we could see the brilliant sunsets over the water. The Hua Hin side has beautiful sunrises over the water but neither of us will get up early enough to see them. 🤣 2) Why do so many people say "Hoi Hin"?
It’s happening. Along with Grand Solaire which is even bigger down the street. A lot of new mega resorts being planned for Jomtien. The skyline will be crazy in 10 years. Looks cool from a distance where I live.
cannot see buying a place in thailand for over 10 million bhat. Hua hin seems to be much more quiet than pattaya, and the prices I found to be about 50 percent higher. Many of the communities are far from the beach and the central area. Definitely you need a car or motorbike to get around. My better half puts it on the x list saying that it is a dead town. It really depends on your needs and your budget. Why not look to koh samui? prices are not that crazy for villas. 9-36 million sounds high as a selling point, but I would need to look at the units in more detail.
Here's a hint, that soi with the seafood stalls is virtually impassable in the afternoons with all the people buying food AND two-way traffic on that street... I've sat there more than 30 minute before trying to drive down that street... Another tip, stay away from the monkeys at that temple as they are very aggressive...
If only Thailand would come to their senses and make being a tourist as easy there as it is in Cambodia and the Philippines… a renewable 30-day tourist visa for as long as someone wants to stay in the country without being forced out after just 90 days.
There are plenty of long term options online. Check the Royal Thai embassy website in your country. Problem with letting people come unrestricted is some come broke and sponge off the system. @GreenyTravels Dang dude. You got that place 3.5 years ago? I remember when you bought it. I can't believe how time flys.
Prefer a villa on a golf course small plunge pool and Jacuzzi. 300 to 400k usd
That would work.
@@GreenyTravels easy to drive a car there Pattaya scary for driving
Thanks greeny 🙏
Appreciate it
36 million Baht, that's a million price tag for the biggest one
There are actually one or two at the beachfront that will be 250 Sqr meters. No clue the price. I’m guessing over 50 m
@@GreenyTravels crazy to pay those prices
Looks great. I not been yet either to H Hin but will go soon 😅.. when is that project due to be ready , any idea ?
You should enjoy
Hua Hin is too Boring for a guy your age but once your older it’s perfect! Cheers 🍻
Goes fast
How much you pay for the apartment mister
Which one?
Love it there. Back in 16 days. God willing
Awesome!!
How much gvelt for the 2 bedroom?
Over 20M. This place is very pricey.
Why I don't feel to go to Hua Hin? You're video blog is dead, no tourists, it's dead..... I have a different view or I did expect.... Bummer
Low season
Well... why did you not tell us how much the new condos cost?
You obviously don't watch all of the video before you comment, it was on the screen around 8.20
Huge range in this development. If you are interested shoot me an email
Can I ask what kind of tourists are there? I'm in Phuket rn and not digging the crowd.
Not that type of crowd. Not at all. You will definitely dig it more
@@GreenyTravels Gonna check it out 1st quarter '25. Wanna start a bar 😁
1) The Pattaya side would be better for us because we could see the brilliant sunsets over the water. The Hua Hin side has beautiful sunrises over the water but neither of us will get up early enough to see them. 🤣
2) Why do so many people say "Hoi Hin"?
No matter how I pronounce it I will be corrected. Look at the comments 😂
Everyone Khru Passet Thai
Fly all the way to Viet Nam to get in debt again. Haven't learned yet. Hey your life right?
Huh?? This is Thailand 🇹🇭. When have I ever been in debt? 🤔
A lot of American dollars flowing into Thailand now. Helping their economy.
I know many coming here.
Check out Cha'am beaches 30 to 60km south of hua hin Lots of golf courses there. Some nice restaurants.
North of Hua Hin
North, I was there yesterday. PKK is south
@@mrshawnceo chaam and beaches to the South I know Chaam is north been there many times
I think one day I will stay there. I drive around it a little in my way back
How much are those condos going to be?
9m to 34m Thai baht. All depends on unit. If you email me I can get you connected with someone if you are interested. 30% sold already.
Do not buy a fake watch! The fine from customs is alot!
That new resort will change many things and not good for many reasons. Hope it never happens.
It’s happening. Along with Grand Solaire which is even bigger down the street. A lot of new mega resorts being planned for Jomtien. The skyline will be crazy in 10 years. Looks cool from a distance where I live.
I wish Thailand made it easier for foreigners to live there.
Unfortunately under age of 50 no easy way. There are a few visa options. Elite visa is one but very expensive
@@GreenyTravels Im over 50 but dont have much money. Just a small SS check each month to live on.
The best place for seafood along that fresh seafood walkway is Uncle Fat's. You will see the cardboard cutout of him wearing a fedora hat
Nice. Thank you!!
Hello green are you still in Hua Hin? Meet up?
Oh. Your back. Wish I knew. I was only there a few days
Been back a while now
สวัสดีค่ะ🙏🇹🇭
Hi. Thank you!!
Restaurant lunch seems expensive.
Yea. That place is not cheap
Monkeys are okay as long as they’re not throwing poop, stealing my sunglasses
lol. Yea. I’ve seen bad ones before. Especially during Covid when no one was feeding them
can you smoke weed in the rooms or do you have to go on the balcony
🤔. Gummies no problem 😂
Pattaya full of Nick Deans
What’s wrong with Nick?
NIce place to retire
That was an ISraeli restaurant ...lol
Im sick of humus and shawarma here ...hahahaha
lol. Yea. They have great food there. I don’t get enough middle eastern food
cannot see buying a place in thailand for over 10 million bhat.
I agree. Seem a bit pricier
Here's a hint, that soi with the seafood stalls is virtually impassable in the afternoons with all the people buying food AND two-way traffic on that street... I've sat there more than 30 minute before trying to drive down that street... Another tip, stay away from the monkeys at that temple as they are very aggressive...
Thank you. Not a very wide street. I would just walk down there.
We don’t want you to swim back after your experience in the Rouge river.
lol. It’s gross
I’ve seeing Farangs panhandle etc. they don’t want it like that. Still easier to stay than Vietnam maybe Malaysia
Looks nice 👌 another Thai village turned touristy, too many farangs, to much westernized IMO
Thailand has opened itself up to the world and counts on the economic stimulus from foreigns. That’s how they want it so be it
Yeah including you in Pattaya. You should practice what you preach - head straight to the airport and leave Thailand. Locals just trying to make a living..
I do know. Looks a little 3 rd world ish
Have you been to Thailand? It’s a great mix of new and old. Lots of charm.
@@GreenyTravels No not yet. My son is in Phuket right now as we speak and he loves it there. I am traveling to Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia in October one day I’ll make it to Thailand.
Those are all pretty developed. Vietnam has some variety depending on where you visit. Sounds like an awesome trip
Vietnam puts Thailand to shame.
Any specific location?
Its on Forbes list
Nice!!
Hua Hin is for married guys or guys with lonv term girlfriends If you are still looking for a woman , u cant beat Bangkok.
Bangkok the best for single guy
Th less crowds the better 🤷🏾♂️
Definitely. People wonder why I like Phu Quac. Cause there’s no one there
I was there, its a bit of a boring city
Slower pace
