Looks amazing!! Give my compliments to the guy who chose that color. ;) Jesus.... so we'll done Mark ! Camera work is fantastic. Hats off to your boy. I thought Dom might have been filming. That's high praise.
Yeah the guy that chose the colour happens to be a good friend of mine! 😅 Oh and thanks from Alf to you. He is a wizard on those cameras! Definitely high praise indeed 🙌
Many Thanks Kim! 👍 Oh yes it was awesome to spend the day messing about with my boy! Memories made that day! All the best and lots of love to your family too! 😁🙏👍
Great run of a true Tamiya legend matey. The aqua skyline and dust clouds are a far cry from the washout we have here today! Currently rained off from work, hence the early view. 😉 Loved the forward roll followed by the forward run on just the back wheels ! 👌 This thing really does still outright perform. This one had a real rc dom vibe to it mate. You need to give me some lessons on how to shoot these close up action shots mate, something we really need to improve on ourselves. Great driving Mark ,and superb work from mc Alfie on the camera. 🙏 👍 👍 👍
Thanks a bunch James! Yeah this was filmed last week but it's raining now here too! ☔ At least Alf an I had a great day together! Glad you enjoyed the forward roll! 😅 But yeah this buggy really surprised me with just how good it drives! Gotta be a new favourite! And yeah this being filmed at Dom's haunt will remind you of his videos but I think my style is quite different! 🤔 We can chat anytime about filming techniques mate, give me a shout 😉 Thanks for the great comment and kind words mate! 👍
Who are you and what have you done with RCDomUK??😂😂😂😂 I think I saw him in the bushes back there. Hotshot looks right at home in the lumps and sand! Beauty!
Haha! I got you there mate, I decided to confuse the viewers by using Dom's favourite running location! 🤣I think he was spying on me in those bushes!! Too right though dude, the Hotshot was in its element there! Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Epic shots of a very cool looking HS! Great vid Mark! The HS is still so capable all these years later! When considering its unique design from all those years ago way back in 85 its remarkable in truth! My favourite tamiya 4wd hands down! Love the choice of music too! Great stuff 😃👍
Many thanks, James! I know you love a Hotshot yourself mate! But absolutely, considering how old this design is, it's amazing how Tamiya got it spot-on! I was blown away by the driving experience! I think it's my new favourite too! Glad you enjoyed it my good friend. Cheers! 🍻😎🙏👍
This was epic guys loved it took me right back to Beatties in Birmingham and watching the Tamiya promo vids.. brilliant.. top work. Always loved the Hotshot to what a great buggy 😃👍💪Pete
Awesome! Thank you Pete that's high praise indeed! The Hotshot really impressed me and so did my son on the camera, I'm chuffed that you enjoyed it! 🙏😎👍
G'day Cobber🤠👧. That's one beastly looking buggy!, not super fast looking but dug in and got through the tough stuff👊. Thanks for sharing your tough Hot Shot our Mukka👍. We hope you're having a ripper weekend🦘🇦🇺
G'day me Mukka! Say hello to Sheila for me pal! Oh yeah this buggy is a real ripper - no, no massive top speed but fast enough and handles like a dream! Thanks for the wonderful comments and I hope my 2 best Aussies are having a whale of a time down under! Cheers! 😁🍻🤘👍
Cheers, Del! Oh yes Alfie was a wizard on those cameras once again, just wish he could film all my videos! But a great time to spend Father and Son, good times! Glad you enjoyed it my friend - take care! 😎🙏👍
Thanks Gabriel 👌 Yes my son Alfie did a great job on the cameras! I'm lucky he was home to be able to help me out. Love this buggy, it's my new favourite! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
What an iconic classic buggy, Mark! And beautiful in green, too! Lovely shots out in Dom's sandpit, I especially love the zoomed in parts, gives it that motorsport feel, cinematic. Great job on the camera, Alf! Have a great weekend there, mate!
Many thanks Mads! This is fast becoming one of my favourite buggies! Glad you like the colour choice too. Dom's sandpit was the perfect place for it's first run and yah, Alfie's zoomed in camerawork made all the difference. Thanks from Alf for the compliment! Cheers mate and have a great week ahead! :D
Hey that was great! You can see why these were a bit of a big deal back in the day because they are still really impressive now. How do you think it compares to the Terra Scorcher as I've been really impressed with that. You and Alf got some lovely shots of it and you've done a top job on the edit as ever. Nice to have a break from the speed runs. Best wishes mate and have a smashing weekend 😁🍻
Great to hear you enjoyed it Pete! Oh man I tell you I was surprised by just how well this old chassis design worked! Lovely to drive mate and very controllable, I'd put it up there with the Terra Scorcher for sure. It was awesome to spend some father son time with Alf and as a bonus I got to get some excellent shots in the can filmed by him! Thanks pal and hope you have a great week ahead! 🙏😎👍
Nice one one pal...👍🏻👍🏻. Got to say that Alf got some awesome captures of this iconic buggy. Never a dull moment, mind you this top class environment helps. You should do more of these vids mate.
Thanks dude! 👍You're right, Alf is a much better cameraman than me - at least he can see the monitor screen properly, unlike me! 🤣 And yes the location was just perfect for this buggy and it was a pleasure to drive. Great to spend time with my son. I have another one we filmed that day coming up, it's the Area 51 Lunchbox, should be a belter my friend! Cheers! 🙏😎👍
Awesome running video Mark, it looked great out there throwing rooster tails of sand in the air! That location looks perfect for R/C buggies, would love to know where that is.👍👍👍
Hi and thanks for the great comment! It was great fun to finally run this awesome buggy. Yeah the location is perfect for RC cars, it's Hartlebury Common in Kidderminster 😎👌👍
YEAAAHHH!!!! Love it! The Hot Shot looked so good out there, Mark! Some really nicely slowed down jumps there where you could see those mono-shocks doing their job. Ah, what a great way to wake up!
Oh man, thanks for that Fil! I totally enjoyed myself sharing the day with Alf and filming this beauty! Glad you appreciate those cuts my friend, yeah those crazy shocks work like a dream. Hope your trip is going well buddy! 😎🤘
Great run Dom... I mean Mark! LOL!!! I am glad you mad an appearance in the end or I would have though Dom stuck a new body on his and was running around out there! I don't blame you for taking it out there to the sand, it looked fantastic out there slinging the sand around and Alfie got some great shots of it! Great looking and great running buggy!!! Take care Mark and have a wonderful weekend!!!
Haha! Thanks Addam, oh yes I think I confused a few people by doing an RCDomUK lookalike video! 😂 Yes I "stole" his awesome location and glad I did as it was the perfect place to run this buggy. It was even better to spend the day with Alfie, a great bit of father and son time for sure! Thanks mate and wishing you a great week ahead! 🙏😎👍
Sick bro I actually like the green paint. That's a mad driving spot you could make some cool track's. I love Tamiya stuff as well mate but can you imagine the HPI Baja 5 scale at your spot Great video mate 👍👍
Thanks Lionel!👍Yeah the colour grows on you! And yes this is a fantastic RC bashing spot and hardly any people around is even better. OMG a 5th scale Baja would be outrageous in these sands!!! Cheers! 🍻😎🤘
Looking Good there McMark 👍 The different choice of colour really makes it stand out from the crowd ✌️ Will Sandy Bottom be the new place to run your rally cars from now on or will there be a height clearance issue with some of them? The Hot Shot looked right at home in the dunes of the Midlands 😂🤣😆
Many thanks for watching and leaving a top comment, McPeter! I'm so glad I went non-boxart, I know you like a bit of a change from the norm as well (and that's an understatement!) I think Sandy Bottom is perfect for all types of RC as it has so many different areas to suit different RC cars. "Dunes of the Midlands" - oh yes, love it mate!!! 😁🙏👍
I think Tamiya would have been proud of that VT back in the day. Can you imagine" introducing the new Tamiya Hotshot" 4wd for all terrains
Thanks Nick, that's praise indeed! 🙏 I used to love watching those old Tamiya adverts back in the day! All the best! 😎👍

Actually this is a question was the Hotshot the first 4wd rc car, kyosho are close I know I had a Laser. Or was it a yokomo
Hi, I did a little research as I wasn't sure, but the first 4WD car, the world had seen, was the Kyosho Land Jump 4D around 1979 / 1980. 😎👍
