There is nothing wrong with playing an Epiphone or a Squier! What is important is that the guitar gives you the desire to pick it up and play it, whether it be a £200 Squier or a £3000 Custom Shop.
To be fair, these guys recorded and produced their album at university (I think they were all aged around 19 years) so I you can't expect them to be whipping out 59' gold tops and Mesa Boogie gear!!
lets all be honest, the sound quality difference between most squier gear and the real deal is substantial, for all the people who dont play, using more expensive instruments does not drain any soul or make you sound commercial

Original Stylez Why exactly does it matter to you how the person is producing the sounds? The drum pad samples actual drum sounds and does its job. It really does not matter what the person has to do to produce the sound, as long as it complements the music they want to make... the point of such equipment is to enable creativity in those who can't or do not want to invest the time or money into something like a drum kit.
@ummerrahh It's an AKAI MPC 500. They retail from around 500 to 700 dollars. They are incredible machines yet incredibly difficult to use. Trust me, I'm a recent owner.
