As a father of a girl my self, I will take this time in history to just sit and be amazed when girls pull off incredible guitar solos like this, and at the same time be happy that my daughter will miss out on some of the amazement just because hopefully she will grow up with female shredders. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. Asami, the main vocalist, is an R&B/Jazz singer who has been training in classical ballet for 16 years since the age of 2. She has experience as a club singer and in the backing chorus of famous rock bands, but unfortunately has no experience singing heavy metal or opera before joining LOVEBITES.

There is a whole world of Lovebites experiences in front of you and your daughter. They are a great role model for her. When you watch some of their live performances you will see why they are so well loved. All their lyrics are positive & uplifting. The White wolves are inspiring, in many ways. When Midori came to the U.S. and between tours in the U.K., Midori found time to visit his local church many times. It was then that Midori strongly felt the power of church music and the energy of the people. When she composed and arranged "Glory To The World," Midori made it into a powerful song. In an interview for a magazine project, Midori commented, "The world is going through a difficult time right now, and I hope this song can push people back. LOVEBITES was also in a difficult situation where they could not hold live concerts, but Asami went directly to the members' homes to get hints on how to write lyrics. And Asami commented, "Member all felt that we wanted to write lyrics and songs that would be close to the feelings of various people. I thought it would be heavy....LMAO...just wait. Their MVs are epic but you haven't experienced this band till you watch them LIVE. Flawless perfection is what they are about, blending classical music with the best of old school metal into the unique LB sound. They have a new bassist, Fami (20 to) so try their MV Stand and Deliver for a behind scenes view of the ladies. Frozen Serenade or Swan Song with Chopin Etude intro is another must especially LIVE. Women dominated the J/Metal and Rock scene in Japan and this band is the best. Others are Band Maid, Nemophila, Aldious, Mary's Blood,etc. If you haven't exposed your daughter to the 3 sister trio the Warning (hard rock) from Mexico don't wait. LB musicians are world class and wear their femininity proudly. Petite they perform in dresses and high heels to be seen easier on stage and to stand out from the usual metal bands which they play circles around.

Japan has quite a number of great all female bands like Lovebites and Band Maid there's Bridear,Mary's Blood,Aldious,Gacharic Spin,Nemophila,Hanabie, Show-Ya, and some of these groups have members that started in Destrose like Lovebites drummer Haruna and original bassist Miho. I think most Mary's Blood was formed from ex Destrose members.

Sorry to say this but with only the first 50 seconds of the video I have noticed something "disturbing"... The way you are listening to the video is not correct. If you're going to keep doing reactions from Lovebites (and almost any other band in general) you need to listen to both audio channels. Especially when it comes to Lovebites live performances, the sound is of such good quality, so well done that you absolutely need to listen in Stereo if you don't want to miss half a song. I am very sorry but what I am saying is not a joke, it is absolutely necessary.

Asami, the main vocalist, is an R&B/Jazz singer who has been training in classical ballet for 16 years since the age of 2. She has experience as a club singer and in the backing chorus of famous rock bands, but unfortunately has no experience singing heavy metal or opera before joining LOVEBITES.

A Frozen Serenade is an exceptionally beautiful piece. And this like is the right one I guess, to the live version.

About "Glory To The World" guitarist Midori and Vocalist Asami says of the song.
When Midori came to the U.S. and between tours in the U.K., Midori found time to visit his local church many times.
It was then that Midori strongly felt the power of church music and the energy of the people.
When she composed and arranged "Glory To The World," Midori made it into a powerful song.
In an interview for a magazine project, Midori commented, "The world is going through a difficult time right now, and I hope this song can push people back.
LOVEBITES was also in a difficult situation where they could not hold live concerts, but Asami went directly to the members' homes to get hints on how to write lyrics.
And Asami commented, "Member all felt that we wanted to write lyrics and songs that would be close to the feelings of various people.
Asami and Midori both have experience singing gospel songs in church, so their senses matched.

I thought it would be heavy....LMAO...just wait. Their MVs are epic but you haven't experienced this band till you watch them LIVE. Flawless perfection is what they are about, blending classical music with the best of old school metal into the unique LB sound. They have a new bassist, Fami (20 to) so try their MV Stand and Deliver for a behind scenes view of the ladies. Frozen Serenade or Swan Song with Chopin Etude intro is another must especially LIVE. Women dominated the J/Metal and Rock scene in Japan and this band is the best. Others are Band Maid, Nemophila, Aldious, Mary's Blood,etc. If you haven't exposed your daughter to the 3 sister trio the Warning (hard rock) from Mexico don't wait. LB musicians are world class and wear their femininity proudly. Petite they perform in dresses and high heels to be seen easier on stage and to stand out from the usual metal bands which they play circles around.

Japan has quite a number of great all female bands like Lovebites and Band Maid there's Bridear,Mary's Blood,Aldious,Gacharic Spin,Nemophila,Hanabie, Show-Ya, and some of these groups have members that started in Destrose like Lovebites drummer Haruna and original bassist Miho. I think most Mary's Blood was formed from ex Destrose members.

Sorry to say this but with only the first 50 seconds of the video I have noticed something "disturbing"... The way you are listening to the video is not correct. If you're going to keep doing reactions from Lovebites (and almost any other band in general) you need to listen to both audio channels. Especially when it comes to Lovebites live performances, the sound is of such good quality, so well done that you absolutely need to listen in Stereo if you don't want to miss half a song. I am very sorry but what I am saying is not a joke, it is absolutely necessary.
