Japan only had Kong for two movies because The studios that had King Kong in the U.S gave permission to make Kong vs Godzilla but stopped permission making Kong movies after 1967

The roar was used for some SRS Cinema Kaiju like Ohga for Ragia Trilogy and Zillafoot
I wish Toho still got the rights, we could’ve got many more movies with him: King Kong vs Ebirah, Heisei Godzilla vs Komg (it was planned)

I'm pretty sure the King Kong Escapes is part of the Godzilla continuity and is a prequel to King Kong vs Godzilla. I've always assumed that the difference in height and stature was because Kong was younger, and so was the Gorosaurus that fought Kong, or maybe that it was a pygmy species of Gorosaurus? Another element to add to this theory is that in King Kong vs Godzilla everyone already know who King Kong's name is without ever being told his name by the natives that worshiped him. The reason everyone is familiar with Kong already is because of his battle with Mechani-Kong in Tokyo years earlier. Also, considering the fact that King Kong can swim, it isn't impossible that he inhabited multiple islands in the South Pacific that he swam between often such as Mondo and Faro island in which he had different natives unaware of each others existence, similarly worshiping him. I know Toho didn't care about strong continuity that much, but there are a lot of things pointing to this theory being true. But again, it's just a theory.
I like it.
I hope Godzilla wins in the next movie killing King Kong and ending the story of Kong, he is no king.

Roadkill Kong. I like to make jokes, but honestly Toho's Kong movies are a hell of a lot of fun. They have a real nostalgic charm and while perfect for an MST3K style riffing, I still have a genuine affection for them.

King Kong vs Godzilla is one of my most favorite Godzilla movies because its the first time the King of the Monsters fights the Gorilla God. I like to see King Kong protects the natives, rather than Eating them. He saves them from Oodako, the giant man-eating Octopus that threatens people and eats them. I also like to see King Kong do the most funniest thing in the movie. The part where he stuffs Godzilla's mouth with a tree!!!!!
If toho made a heisei king kong versus godzilla film, it honestly would have been one of the best godzilla films of the heisei series

Expect King facing Godzilla in the Togo trilogy is uncanon it never happened because Toho doesn’t own King Kong that is something made by the USA
King Kong vs. Godzilla is my all-time favorite Godzilla movie. I would've preferred to see it as a more serious adaptation (being directed by Ishiro Honda, and all), but I have a peculiar admiration for the movie's silly concept.
I like that it doesnt take itself too seriously, it makes it very fun to watch.

I think both versions of Kong are cool from Toho, I enjoyed watching both King Kong vs Godzilla and King Kong escapes, Mechnikong is a cool robot but no match for the real thing, I prefer Susan Watson to Ann Darrow played by Fay Wray, Ann screamed to much but Susan screamed for a short while she provided more courage. I wonder why King Kong escapes is in its own continuity. I was aware of the film for decades but only recently saw it.
I figured it was in the main Tohoverse since Gorosaurus was in Destroy All Monsters.
King Kong Escapes is such goofy fun. I love it.
Technically, _King Kong Escapes_ does belong to the continuity of _Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla_ and _Tokyo S.O.S._ along with several other Showa Toho kaiju films, as revealed in tie-in books. It's just not in the same continuity as any of the Showa Godzilla films, presumably because they wanted to tell a standalone story and needed to scale Kong down from how tall he was in _King Kong vs. Godzilla_.
Oh yeah. I had forgotten how the Kiryu films exist in a pocket universe. So technically the King Kong Escapes Kong exists in the same universe as the original Mothra. I wonder what building in New Kirk City Kong would climb.

Kong 2017 is over 100 feet tall, 31.6 meters is about 104 feet. He still isn't as tall as the 1962 Kong, who stood 45 meters, or about 148 feet, tall.

Toho made Kong way too overpowering but love the use of creepy native music back then. The Kong of today doesn't need an electrified grip, he's way stronger now.

@@anomalous1879 even if it was to be serious but script issues and certain budget problems was going on, so they used an article/episode of a wrestling match on T.V. to try and scare people. I don't quite remember the match but one wrestler used a gimmick (which was slowly gaining popularity at the time) to cause his opponent's head to bleed badly.

These two toho King Kong films took place in different continuity, King Kong vs Godzilla took place in the showa Godzilla continuity, and King Kong escapes took place in the kiryu saga.
_King Kong Escapes_ actually takes place in both the Showa Godzilla continuity and the Kiryu Saga continuity, as explained in the official book _Godzilla Dictionary._
