Story 1- I don’t think I like OP. Not only did she treat her dad like crap, when she found out her mom, who had abandoned her, was the real pos she just lets her off unscathed. I just couldn’t give af about her drawn out feelings because once again the villain gets to live their happily ever after.

Last story: Reddit just doesn't think sometimes.
All of those people telling OP get the game, defy your parents. Even after OP describes some of the mental and physical abuse. Her parents beat her with a stick just because she was having trouble understanding some Math. They didn't consider what the parents would do if they found her game system. I mean, the OP themselves said that the worst they would likely do is smash the thing.
But I do agree that the parents' history of physical abuse is extremely concerning. Regardless of whether or not we agree with Reddit, I think what we can agree on is that these abusive parents are trash. Their continued mental abuse, controlling nature, and possible favoritism towards the younger brother (they let him buy a PS3? wtf?) is truly awful and I hope the OP was able to escape them and cut contact.

    1) i feel sorry for OP and their dad, both of their lives were ruined(OP's dad had it worst), they were lied to from a young age to believing that their father did something horrible, when in reality their mother lied to cover up an affair, that they were get custody and not have their live ruined, ruining OP's live and the fact that she hasn't confessed about it for over 20 years and thinks that she can run away from her choices, she didnt even seem to deny them, the husband is most likely the AP and he knew what happened and doesn't want others to know, i think OP needs to NC with them for their sanity
2)NTA first off, this was never a family home, it wasn't left in a will or was passed down, the second it was put on the market, by your family was the moment they no longer wanted it as such, so they cant have a say in it anymore, also your sister is delusional, she didn't work her butt off for years to afford the house, she didnt even have nearly enough to afford a fraction of it, and didn't think to ask about the plan assuming that she has the house, and "because she has kids", she decided to have kids even when they both had large debt to pay, also how could you "pay you back" the amount of money wouldn't be enough for them to get it back in a timely manor, also
3)NTA OP deserves it, having a 95% average is really good, and the fact that they're letting her have friends over, have hobbies even watching movies doesn't make sense, wouldn't she spend less time on these hobbies and play games instead which wouldn't effect her grades? also the fact that you're being "shielded" from games at the AGE OF 12 is concerning, what happens when you discover all the things that you were forbidden to have, youll be angry and theyll have no reason to defend themselves, also you earned that money

OO is a selfish brat who deserves to be alone for the rest of their life. They say that they " forgive their father" . It sounds like their father should be forgiving them. How can OP as a child hate a man they knows nothing about? OP simply believe a story that has two sides. But they believed the woman side, without even hearing their father's side. The only person in this story with whom I have any sympathy, is OP's father.

By the story, it goes like this :
Mom gets pregnant, cheats, gets caught, accuses dad of assault, dad gets jail without proof while she stays at grandparents for a while and gives birth, then ups and leaves "when he was a baby" leaving him alone with grandparents.
So, how did a baby have the awareness to hate his father and the decision making power to chase him away?
